Apotropaic Marks or Witches’ Marks (Daisy Wheel), Berry Barn, Isle of Wight

Apotropaic marks were symbols, scribed onto stone or timber to protect the inhabitants of the building from malevolent forces, such as witches or evil spirits. These examples are found in a barn of a farm in Brighstone in the Isle of Wight.
