#hercules #greekmythology #animatic - Hudba
It still amuses me how Disney made Hades the bad guy, when in the original myths it was Poseidon who was the most jealous of Zeus, and Hades even liked his job
I didn't know that about Poseidon.
Maybe it’s the decor. Should check up on that, Hades
True, Hades was the god of the Underworld, but he was also a faithful husband and owned all of the gemstones and other minerals in the Earth itself.
@@michaelogorman3944 I like Zeus, Poseidon and Hades because as a trio they evenly divide the world into the Sky, Water and Earth.
@leebulger7112 Technically, Poseidon also had control of the earth on everything above. Hades got everything below, so the other 2 still got more in the deal
Hades:why cant i just catch a break
Well now I feel even more bad for Hades especially when you look at descendants and his backstory here first he was eaten by his father, then he was betrayed by his brothers, then you was defeated by his nephew at the peak of his greatness, most of all he the banished to the Isle of the lost lost all his powers didn't have much of a relationship with his daughter, I mean he is a great villain but at some point I really feel that he deserves to have something most of all out of all the other villains
@@christianndlovu-lh7vu Very true he definitely does
@@christianndlovu-lh7vu saddest part is he isnt even a villian in greek mythology he is just a guy stuck with the worst job in history and has the wierdest relatonship with his wife
@@birky0191 yeah for his sake I'm just going to say his wife is Maleficent cuz him and Aphrodite is a yikes situation
😂😂😂😂😂
i like how you added Hades's helmet its rarely ever talked about in media but Hades does in fact have a helmet of invisibility
He used that very same helmet to the advantage of the gods against the Titans by sneaking into their camps to steal their weapons while they slept so the fighting later would be a cake walk, which helped them win the war, and yet at 2:20 that is the appreciation he gets for calling out the rigged game.
Also don't think there ever was any myths about Hades either hating his role with the Underworld or even having any beef with Zeus. Pretty sure Zeus even gave him approval with marrying his daughter Persephone.
Yes Hercules is horribly inaccurate with the actual Mythology Zeus being a good dad? Hera bring Hercules’s mom? Yeah its all wrong but the movie is a fun watch something being inaccurate is better than being right (not to mention most of the stuff in mythology wouldn’t be allowed with a 10 foot pole in a disney movie) also James woods’s Hades is one of the best performances/villains disney has given us so im willing to look past it
@@lastassassin4443yeah exactly, as a huge mythology buff like 90 percent of that movie wasn’t close to accurate, but who cares right lol? It’s a kids movies and a damn good on, seriously with all the banger music, animation, and hades being an amazing villain.I think I can turn my brain off to the inaccurate tellings lmao.
Also yeah, if they tried to do actual Greek mythology the movie is bare minimum r rated lol.
@bjwill9047 really only R-rated? Idk with most of the shit that happens during Hercules actual mythology along with several others seeing as the movie blends in a lot of mythology’s together i feel like it would have to get a NC-17 rating
Me before: I hate Hades
Me now: We need to give him love and care
i already loved him before man he gives me vox vibes
@@PinkywinkykinkyOr Vox gives you Hades vibes.
@@leebulger7112 yeahh
Definitely yes. 👏
tbh In my head, I often conflate Disney’s version of Hades with original Greek myth 😅 but that’s one of the main reasons I still simp him
Within Mythology he was the nicest of the gods, and out of all did pretty much the least in evil actions.
Poor Hades. He essentially ended up in a place similar to the one he'd been forced to grow up in
OOOOMG I didn’t even think about that😨😥. The trauma. Poor thing. He really didn’t deserve this.
oh shit yer right, F his brothers
Ikr
The underworld is not just hell, its also heaven.
@@lexa2310I honestly think the Well of souls acts as a second gate to be sorted in the Greeks' version of heaven and hell, Hades's job is to make sure all of the souls in the river flow all the way to the bottom of the well since that would be the point-of-no-return for the dead
Every movie makes Hades the bad guy, but in mythology he was oneof the best gods, he was the only one who was loyal to his wife, he didnt mess around when it came to his job, he made sure the mortals were safe from the dead souls, he was a really good guy
Well, with loyalty is quite difficult situation. You have a nymph named Minte. In that nymphe Hades fall in love, but Persephone or Demeter turned her into a plant. You can read about her in Wikipedia
well he wasn’t completely loyal to his wife but when your talking about a male Olympian he’s about as loyal as you could possibly get
@@SadDrifter yeah, compare to other he is. But we can't made him a saint. He wasn't 100% loyal to Persephone. He has his sins
Im with on your vote because hades is also like anubis make sure to the mortals arrive to the afterlife
@@Nika-666 though that one is also depending on the mythology and which era so in some cases he is 100% loyal just like there are some stories where he didnt kidnap his wife.
I always imagined Zeus and Hades being more akin to their original mythology versions when they were younger, but eventually Zeus decided to grow up a little so he'd be a good god while Hades had enough of trying to stop his brother's shenanigans.
Same. Hades has a legitimate reason to hate Zeus and want to steal the throne. Hades is the oldest and by birthright it belongs to him but he gets tricked and rules the Underworld.
@@Broomer52but honestly speaking he is more like the god of the afterlife and riches after all all jewels originate from underground where the underworld resides
@@Broomer52 plus everyone dies eventually so by the end Hades rules over more than Zeus ever will
@@Broomer52 Yeah but Zeus is the strongest, the one who freed his siblings and the one who did the most to overthrow Kronos. He earned that throne and it would be pretty shit if he was immediately sidelined just because Hades was eaten first.
@@Broomer52 By might Zeus deserves the throne. Hades would've been trapped forever in the belly of chronos if it wasn't for Zeus. Besides Hades never coveted the throne in myth. He was very happy with his realm of the underworld.
Hades: Hard working god of the afterlife, loyal to his wife and devoted dog owner. (not to mention Cerberus translates to 'spotted'. So Hades' dog is named 'Spot'. Just found it funny.)
Poseidon: The original vengeful middle child.
Zeus: God of one night stands.
as cute as that is, it doesnt actually translate to spotted; they used to think it did but as of now they have come to the conclusion that it is not the correct translation
@@gothic_ace2037 Must've missed that update. Thanks.
@@Jgaldragon no prob, wish it was spot lol
Worse than that, neither Poseidon nor Zeus would accept no for an answer. In one version of the myth the priestess Medusa was cursed by Athena after being sexually assaulted by Poseidon within her Temple. She was blamed for the desecration of the temple by the goddess she served.
Medusa being sexually assaulted by Poseidon is actually not the original story. She was born a monster and was a demi goddess of the sea. The SA version was made by the poet Ovid, who was very political during his time and rewrote the Greek tales to better fit his political movements (also because he was extremely racist towards the Greeks and wanted to make their gods look even worse than they are).@MattSanders-hp4qp
I love the mix of the Hercules movie and the titans from actual mythology
Yeah. In actual Greek mythos there’s no technical all good gods. Everyone’s done something that’s considered bad.
Ironically, of all the gods, Hades is the only one who can be considered "good"
@@anabeatrizguerra7962Hades rarely punished people who didn't deserve it.
@@anabeatrizguerra7962not the only one but sure the main one. Also, I am pretty sure that the Greek gods represent power without any restrictions and how we as humans would behave if we had it. They are cautionary tales primarily. The gods have humanity but with what does humanity come? Everything else, desire ambition, emotions etc. Hades being one of the closest beings to human is the most humane one but that isn't particularly good. They feared him because of his title and power and they thought that they shouldn't do something that displeases him, not even uttering his name. What if he became haywire and had tendencies like his brothers? What if other traits became much more stronger like his passion? We saw that he tried to keep persephone in the underworld because of his passion but because of his love that grew with each glance that he took towards her, he decided to fix things, even when persephone wanted to stay with him. I am talking based on multiple itarations of the mythos, which these traits were prevelant
+coughs+ Hestia +coughs+
She's probably the best out of the Main 13 Olympians but TBF she is also the least popular one so perhaps she was alright because she was always over looked

@@Velvette-dp6nw oh wow and Hi Velvette!! ✨🤗
I absolutely love how faithful this is to the Greek myths! Hades is literally the most chill out of his brothers and he’s faithful to his wife.
This was AWESOME! Hades has always been one of my favorite Disney baddies. My guess is that Zeus realized how mean he'd been, but once the Gods were assigned their roles, they couldn't leave (since SOMEONE needs to do the jobs or that thing will be in chaos) which was why he was a lot nicer as he grew older, like inviting Hades to join the celebration for Hercules. But Hades' resentment and anger grew too much to overcome and he HATED his brother and the other gods.
Even if it is so, if Zeus has changed, then the main fault and mistake of Hades is that he could not let go of the past and was fixated on revenge.
@@MarkMark-lx6gl Right. He doesn't care if his brother has become better. All he cares about is the humiliation that landed him a crummy, gross job.
@@MarkMark-lx6gl I think maybe also he felt betrayed by his own family since zues and posiden cut his own string (not trying to justify his own actions here though)
This is amazing! I love tying it all back to the original myth. Also, makes me think of the Twisted Tale book released by Disney, where it shows the Hades and Persephone myth, only instead of being kidnapped, the two were genuinely in love, and she gave Hades hope in his future after his titan plan fell apart. Imagine Hades singing I won’t say I’m I love!
Really now I really want to read that twist tale book
@@catherineterry1111 It’s really good! It picks up right where the first movie needed, only Meg is told she has to proved herself a hero to become a goddess to be with Hercules, which involves her confronting her old boyfriend.
Anyone notice how the Kronos's stomach and the Underwood look a bit similar?
Definitely not a good scenario to be stuck in a place that reminds you of where you nearly died by being digested.
Yup
Yeah i thought that was awesome. Also on the 'almost died by being digested ' bit that's kinda tha thing. There was no almost about the digested part but they couldn't die...they were in a actual stomach and they were immortal so when Zeus returned and basically just got cronos to throw up they all spilled out full grown.
This only proves that a lot of Disney Villains were justified in their actions. Hades is 100% one of them.
I love how you went like “HOLD ON MISTER NARRATOR!” Narrator:”You go gurl 💅!”
He really said “✨you go gorl ✨”
Damn!!! this is so sad.... You can see why Hades would be pissed off and angry but at the same time it doesn't excuse what he did to Hercules.
EDIT:Thx for the 300 likes guys!
True but it’s kinda the same for Maleficent’s villain origin song
How could Zeus and Poseidon do that to their own brother like that?!
@@kpc9602 well in actual mythology
It's just a random draw and Hades just drew the shortest
He's also not like
Upset abt it and such
The Underworld isn't actually 1:1 with hell in Greek Mythos, it just became such after Christianity got involved
Hades rules over it with responsibility and interacts with his brothers just fine
Agreed
@@firegirl2202 Agreed. In all honesty, the underworld is actually a pretty sweet gig. He doesn't just rule the fields of punishment, he also has dominion over paradise. Like of course he doesn't hang out in the surface with the rest of his family. Why would he when essentially heaven is a shorter commute?
I love this series! Please continue what you’re doing!
Also in Greek myth, Hades was the oldest son, so technically the should’ve ruled because of birthright, but lost due to pulling sticks
A consolation that Hades has is that while there is a delay everyone bows to him eventually.
@@leebulger7112 true true
@@Hi-there61221 I got that line from Overly Sarcastic Productions video about Hades.
@@leebulger7112 Same bro 😭
Yes Hades is the eldest in the actual myths but in the TV series based on the Disney movie he's said to be the youngest brother
This woman is an artist
Agreed😌
I knew it was gonna be about Hades! He's one of the best Disney villains!
Highly agreed.👿👍
I know right I can't wait to see what next Disney villain she'll do next
You just made one of the funniest characters to the most tragic. Literally Hades didn't do anything wrong but his brothers forced hem to be ruler of a word that reminded hem the place he grown-up(a dark and scary please)
I love that you decided to tell the TRUE STORY. I'm a huge fan of greek mythology and rewatching the Hercules movie I noticed how FAR it is from the actual story. What you did with this song is amazing, loved the vocals, the musical arrangement, the animation, everything. This sended chills through my spine, really. Amazing work as always girl
funnily enough you made only one grammatical mistake and you only made mistakes in the part where you said English isn’t your first language, there’s no way I would’ve been able to tell if you didn’t add that part
@@SadDrifter THANK YOU! I'm really trying to improve my writing skills, and reading my comment again I noticed that I spelled 'language' and 'for' incorrectly.
So, Hades was stripped of her birthright to rule Olympus because of Zeus' deception? First Ursula, and now this!?! Awesome video!
Yeah
I'm starting to think milkyymelodies is actually one of the muses in disguise, she's amazing
Zues: Yo Poseidon lets make Hades go to hell I don't like him
Hades: alr Imma get revenge by making Zues' son give up his power for Meg.
Good job on mixing the mythology with the Disney version to make a backstory. Honestly, Hades has been the most polite god on Olympus. He only had one wife and he never cheated on her. I think Hades' love story is what inspired stories such as "Beauty and the Beast", "Phantom of the Opera", "Hunchback of Notre Dame".
Didn't he kidnap Persephone from her mother
@@voidlesslove3123 Some say he did, some say she wandered off and some say Zeus himself wanted to fix Hades up with Persephone who was Zeus' own daughter. Most adaptations say he kidnapped her but later decided to respect her choice, however, according to the myth, he either gave her the pomegranate seeds or one of his servants did (Pain? Panic?), he tried to help her get back to her mother, but she could only return for a short while, a few months a year. Guess it's what inspired the celtic folklore about the fairies, when you eat something from them, you have to stay there.
This is really a true story 🥹.
a more myth accurate story, nice
out of the three brothers, at least in Greek Myth; Hades is the least problematic
Oh yeah definitely
We all guessed by now that MilkyyMelodies was a Goddess of Music disguised as a youtuber, but now we have the proof.
Love the detail you did of Hades comforting Poseidon in the stomach q-q Makes his role in screwing him over so fucked up
in greek mythology hades was really the nicest and most normal dude you could have met i think hermes was too
This is really a true story 🥹
I can see why Hades became a villain when he was treated like that after his intensely traumatic childhood.
In this version or series.
I am from Greece and I can say that this song is surprisingly accurate.
I love how she made the main muse herself 👍🏼
I love how the muse is the “Muse of Melodies”, and the Muse also looks similar to MilkyyMelodies’s profile. Attention to detail amirite?
Zeus is a serial rapist and Hades is a generally cool dude, he didn't do anything other than kidnapping Persephone
hades also cheated on her with Nymph. But hades is not worse as zeus and Poseidon
Poor Hades. No wonder he wanted to make Zeus suffer.
I know right
Fun fact: Kronos has 2 mentions in Disney Hercules Cartoon, a song about him, and even a picture of him
Had a thought. Hades' realm is not Death itself, that's Thanatos, but the DEAD. So, technically, his kingdom encompasses that of his brothers. In time, their subjects will join his realm. And it would be unwise to disrespect the one who decides what happens when Atropos cuts the thread measured by Lachesis and spun by Clotho. Ask Sisyphus.
Aw sick this is great! He’s gotta be my fav Disney villain and Greek god. Tbh he was the chill one outa his brothers who were kinda jerks. I love how you added the scene from the movie when he’s in the boat in the underworld it’s so iconic and also I love how you made the singer turn back into stone at the end with the harp, keep up the great work with your amazing voice!
It's even worse because as the firstborn son of Cronos, the cosmos were Hades's by right so I can see why he was so pissed with his brothers.
I actually love the accuracy to Greek mythology you used
Hades is pretty chill in Greek mythology. I like the song though I do wish you mentioned their Mom
Yes, Rhea. She saved Zeus by putting a stone in its place and feeding it to her husband. In some versions of the myth, she also managed to save her other children.
Showing Hades protecting Poseidon in Kronos’ stomach adds so much more weight to the story.Hades genuinely loved his younger brother and Poseidon repaid Hades by dooming him to eternal misery and forming an alliance with a brother he barely knows in the name of more power.
Zagreus: So that's why dad's such a grumpy grump.
Wait… isn’t Zag dead?
If this actually happened in Greek Mythology. Zeus rigged the rules and made his family suffer. A true king does not do that to his family.
Hades was literally the most chill god among the Olympians. And posiedon tried to overthrow Zeus once .Disney did him wrong
The jokes on Zeus. In the end all mortals must enter Hades realm. He was practically the only god that never did anything to torment humanity. At least not until some fool first messed with him or his wife, even then he only punished those individuals.
(Gasp) Oh my God!😨 Poor Hades.😔
The thing i want to see is a Hollywood movie about hades and Persephone story
After the Movie ended:
Zeus: Hades, I’ve apologized a thousand times already.
Hades: And I’ve rejected your apology A THOUSAND TIMES!!
Poseidon: We’re still cool right?
The fact u added Aphrodite and Artemis and Apollo were not there is a crime worth mentioning
Hades is literally one of the best God and people just treat him like the most horrible person in the world but in reality, he’s just mistaken❤😮😢😭
1:03 Suddenly "OH NO, CHRONOS IS HOT" moment
Hades is one of my favorite Disney Villains, so comedic😆
You know hades is the oldest born of the gods, so he is heir to the earth. Also in Roman mythology he was the god of riches so…
Ahh! That was amazing! I hope there’s a part 2 to this! ❤
I love the depth you go into Hades’ lore with this take of gospel truth. The Disney movie made him entirely evil just for the audience to hate him and root for Hercules. They did not bother to give a backstory behind Hades’ tyranny. Hats off.
Justice for Hades, Finally
In Greek mythology Hades is actually a neutral being, neither good nor evil in the legends of old.
True
The fact is that Poseidon work with Zeus to sabotage Hades when he was when Hades was the one that took care of Poseidon when they were stuck in their father’s stomach and him to sabotage his brother when he kept him on him and kept him from being scared crazy, crazy crazy
Long live the true king of Olympus. They may not believe! But we will never forget!
I was waiting for this
Yo, that Kronos design is both awesome and pretty fitting for the kind of character he is.
Kinda reminds me of Percy Jackson
the saddest part wasn't how hades was cheated out of a good realm, but how is own brother, poseidon, choose to rig the game and worked for zeus, i know he saved them but hades was by poseidon's side while they were in their own dad's stomach
Hades is probably one the nicest gods within Greek mythology and actually a nice husband but movies always turn him into villain when Zuse and often persidon are the actual villains
The gods are more like forces of nature then good or evil
I like that this song gives this Hades an actual reason to be the bad guy
I would love another one of these for Hades and Persephone 🙏🏻😍 Edit: oh sorry I got excited & forgot to put in my feedback! 😅 This is really good, one of the best musical Disney animatics I’ve seen on the platform. I love the Maleficent one too. Bravo 👏🏻

This is one of the fan projects we need more of. Thank you
Having watched Hades's backstory in the second season of Netflix's "Blood of Zeus," I've realized the true injustice of his origin in almost every adaptation. Great job with this cover! 💙🔥
MilkyyMelodies the Goddess+Muse of Melodies…a very fitting title.💖🎶😉
Really glad you stuck with the original story of Hades.
Hades: 🎶The King of Evil🎶
I really love these series, please don’t stop making these.
Some of these Disney Villains deserve some love and justice too.
For your consideration, really hope you make these Disney Villains Origins soon: Cruella, Jafar, King Magnifico, Captain Hook, Oogie Boogie, Scar, Yzma, Gaston, The Evil Queen(Grimhilde), and The Queen of Hearts.😈🎶🤞
Like cruellas could be about the cruellas movie
Jafars could be about his life as a street rat
King magnificos could be about how he lost his family and built Rosa's
Captain hooks could be about how he was once friends with Peter Pan and how he betrayed him
Oogie boogies could be about how he and Jack were once friends and how Jack cheated his way to be the pumpkin king
Scars could be about how he got his scar like in the lion guard and how mufasa used deception to get the thron
Yzmas could be about how much she loved her father and how kuzcos ther executed him for making kuzcos cry
Gaston could be about how his father influenced him to become the person he is in the movie
The evil queens could be the exact same tale as snow white
The queen of hearts could be about how she's a reflection of Alice's dark side
@@nathanwilliams585 Yes. Thank you for summarizing it.😊👍
Hopefully Milkyy reads both our comments.
Hades needs his own song....shame they didnt do that in the movie...but the show and man he done dirty in the movie too, and man i wished he get his own film, Disney really made Hera and Zeus good people and yet gotten Hades the shaft
Amazing like alwayss
Beautiful job on this song!
I like this version of events. It justifies Hades being pissed at Zeus.
Hades is not only god of the underworld but he also owns everything that is underground. Thus all value such as gold and precious stones belong to him and therefore miners and all those who want wealth ask for his permission.
I loved this and I especially loved the fact that MillkyyMelodies is the person who tells the story as a goddess of music and ancient tales
You go girl😉
This is so good!! Your voice is incredible, and the animatic was amazing--it looks like a deleted scene from the movie! I'd love to see more villain origin story songs!!
very nice i love how this song gives more depth to my favorite villain.
and why he descended into madness.
And not to mention the fact that Hades was the only one of his brothers who was faithful to his wife, who by the way, ISNT IN THIS MOVIE.
(No hate to the movie or anything though. I totally understand why they changed it. It’s a great movie and it actually inspired me to learn more about actual Greek mythology.)
Edit: I LOVE THIS ANIMATIC AND HER VOICE SO SO BEAUTIFUL
This was very good song that perfectly shows one of the most popular beliefs on how Hades became the ruler of the underworld. I really enjoy different mythologies. Even though the drawing of string interpretation is one of the most well known it's not explicitly detailed in classical myths and only one of the few other interpretations that explains why Hades rules the underworld. There are few others as well and some say that Hades wasn't tricked at all to rule the underworld. Hades actually much prefers his palace than to reside in Olympus in the original mythos so that does give it some weight. He was also actually more altruistically inclined in mythology. I know this is based on a cartoon and a lot of current day pop culture media shows him as a evil villain which is fine and does show a potential bitterness against his younger brother which does give good ideas for stories. It's just nice to see stuff like this that shows Hades other sides of himself.
It's a work of art!!! I love this so much!
This was amazing love it so much❤❤❤❤❤
Been secretly hoping for this, I'm so excited
i love you milkkymelodies the way you created tge song was the best i ever listened❤
Hades at least won the award for most loyal Olympian husband to Persephone. 😉
It’s so interesting as Hades isn’t that bad of a guy in Greek mythology, well, if you compare him to Zeus. Disney painted Hades to be this cruel monster who wanted to see the downfall of olympys, while Zeus is a good meaning king.
In Greek mythology, Hades is pretty chill. He let Heracles take his hound for one of many challenges Heracles had to do. After getting permission from ZEUS, he kidnaps Persephone. With media, it’s portrayed differently, from abusive to loving. So you can judge yourself what you think their relationship is like. Hades is one more of the more kinder gods of greek mythology in my opinion.
Zeus on the other hand, oh how to describe him. I cannot keep it in his pants, his wife is literally his sister. Most half gods are childeren of Zeus, Heracles being one of them. I don’t remember a lot of what he did on the top of my head, but he is not a good person.
Then there is Poseidon. He was barely in the movie, so we don’t know much about his personality there. I am also not too familiar with his tales. But one I do know is about the tale of Medusa, he $a’s her as for punishment, she gets turned into half snake being by Athena (Poor girl).
Compared to his brothers, Hades is a saint.
I loved this song, earlier today, I had shown this song to my Social Studies teacher! She loved it and even asked me to Gmail this song to her! You’re probably one of my favorite singers MilkyyMelodies!
0:32 I love it when he says that like girl SLAYYYYYY
Nah the Goddesses and Gods did Hades dirty even Poseidon and Zeus. Justice for my boy, Hades ✋😭
Only exception is maybe Hestia and Persephone
This is amazing! 😃
For all i know Hades was not evil. He was actually one of the most loyal Gods when it came to love and was willing to help travelers however he could. Still one of my fav movies btw❤❤ Great Job🎉
Loved this amazing backstory! Also, anyone else notice the evolution of Hades's chin 😁
Absolutely love this!
god the arts always so stunning with these videos
As a fan of Greek mythology I love this video! Shows how different Hades's fate could have been if Zeus hadn't been a jerk. Wish Hades could be happy
