I like how the ball in the turn indicator and the coiled cord for the 'dangly cable' mimic each other.
I have loved my Islander from day one. I really liked the "used" look about it, I mean aircraft suffer wear and tear like anything else that is used. For Blackbox to release such an impressive upgrade for free, on an aeroplane I was very happy with to begin with , is nothing short of amazing. Thank you Blackbox, and thank you AvAngel for giving us the heads up.

Great news as I own both the Islander and Trislander. Thank you, Blackbox. I don't cold start my flights much but I do with the Trislander and this is similar; You turn on battery, leave generators off and turn on battery back up. Above, turn on pumps, only turn on Magnetos 1 for each engine. Once they start, you turn the other two on. Below, you turn on generators and turn off battery back up.

I must say that I was a bit disappointed when I first bought it, but they have already improved it pretty well, and this update looks very good! With the GTN750 upgrade, I also hope they’ll “remove” the gps, leaving only radio navigation.
yea you do hope so while I dont because Ive spent a LOT of time configuring my homecockpit setup with the gns 530 mod for the islander so this would break this plane for me completely
I love the engine sound! I already have about as many unpressurized piston planes as I need, but this always seemed like a great one and even more so now.

I like your Sterling Archer reference when you said "phrasing". A lot of people might not get that...lol. I also enjoy when you fly in Idaho because that is where I live. I cannot believe they have close to half a dozen add-on airports now in our little state of Idaho!

Looking forward to this update! Great job by Black Box. One of my favorites in the sim. There is a story about a Finnish pilot setting one of these down on the apron perpendicular to the runway in a strong crosswind, in Berlevåg, Norway. Seeing as Berlevåg is sitting on the very northern tip of the country, conditions can get a bit nautical up there!

So I'm not sure what's going on with your demo but you can adjust the payload on the cargo variant. I just watched another video online and he went into payload and and adjusted the slider and the more he adjusted it, the more cargo was added so pretty cool! I'm sure you've probably already figured it out by now though and are very tickled with this! Thanks again for your awesome videos!

This airplane is no Carenado quality, but man I´ve had so much fun with this aircraft flying short remote and dirty airstrips. I´m very much looking forward for this update!!
The wing position as it goes over the top of the fuselage looks about right, from photos of the real thing. Agreed - it does look a bit odd at first.
Hi Angel, I know I’m late to this video which is awesome as usual, I purchased this plane yesterday 😊 I found by accident that Label above the speed indicator is clickable! It changes out some of the steam gauges for a electronic display. Thanks for all your great content 👍🏻

There is a way to have the cargo show, you may not have put in enough weight for it. I absolutely love the plane, thank you for your recommendation. I just purchased it from the marketplace with some gift card money. Ned purchase is the wilga and then I am done for the rest of the year!!!

You were at Thomas Creek, not Johnson Creek. For your takeoff to lower loon Creek. Johnson Creek has all the tenting planes and is a really nice airport! This is my first response, your reviews have been unbelievably accurate and also quite fun! I have based my procurement of certain planes after seeing your reviews, and I certainly like the humor with the Russian pilot, and the creative runs that you do! There are a lot of bush airports that I will send you because that and Cliff diving which is really just finding All the cliff and mountain top tight landings. It’s apparent you have a certain passion for what you do, and it’s evident in your comments, and reviews. Thank you very much for your tutorials also on the mountain flying. It is greatly appreciated. By the way how do you get the frame rate to display on an Xbox? Anyway thank you once again and I really do wish they would bring some of the aircraft available for that PC over to the Xbox. Why do we have to wait months if not years. Not sure about xbox I'm afraid, I'm on PC and its a steam overlay feature. But thank you for the kind words! (the issue with some stuff coming to xbox is to do with current implimentation of more advanced features, that part isnt supported yet on xbox)
This looks like a nice plane, although i don't have it, will probably get it. What better plane to use for island hopping flights other then an islander. I wonder if that's where this model plane got its name from.
I liked the plane when I got it, but I frequently had issues getting on the glide scope. Might have been me, though.
No fear, the preview pictures on the MSFS forums show cargo onboard.

This is one of my favorite planes, but I just hate the green tint of the windows. I usually do joyflights in MSFS (not scheduled routes) so I like to look around a lot, and that tint is rather annoying. If there was a way to remove it I'd use it all the time.

Have you checked out the NeoFly career mode? Sounds like something you might like
Neofly actually includes random failures like bird strikes or rudder failures. Can be a real challenge. The Islander has been rock solid with those in the past. Even allowing me to fly her with the rudder failure and land half way safely after 65nm of ditching it as the only other option. Real fun in a simulator.
@@jerryweirdspeed8943 is the Islander similar to NeoFly like its own career mode type stuff or is it something to do with NeoFly? I'm still new to all that stuff
@@kravenrayne Could you please clarify the exact question? The Islander is an aircraft. You can use it in Neofly, which is a standalone application. In particular a career mod with a focus on variety in missions and economics.

What version is this? Their website is barely updated and there is no announcement in their forums, twitter or facebook. Black Box communication...

It's probably more of a personal preference, but the interior looks too clean for "work truck". There's a bit of a weird disconnect with the panel and the overhead light having some finish wear and scuffing but the seats, carpet and upholstery looking mint. My mind tells me that it should be the other way around - the bright white and clean fabrics would be the first things to fade, and show wear and tear.. and then finally the metal components.. my mind rejects this perfect matrix simulation. :P
People got quite pissy about the worn interior in v1, i guess this is a reaction to that.
When out in marketplace this new version?

I just got this one a couple days ago and mine just crashes my sim every time. I've never had any issues with the sim or any other aircraft from day one, and i don't just install all kinds of stuff either. Anyone else having this issue? I would love to fly this thing!.

it's pretty cool, but I wouldn't call it "essential".

The Islander always gave me a glitch where my plane would start to go uncontrollably fast and crash. Hopefully this will surely solve that.
I can tell you're in SU9 still. Just wait until SU10. You ill be in a roller coaster in those hills.
Obviously still 9, 10 is beta and not something else want to faf with when I need a sim for content

I believe so. I do yes, but I keep those channels separate.
Definitely an improvement however the 3D exterior modelling is still a bit off compared to the real thing. The only developer that nailed the 3D modelling is Nimbus and Torquesim.Too bad those guys don't develop for MSFS.

this aircraft has had another update since the "big one",,,,the only thing that bugs me is the prop spinners,they just don't run true,,,no one mentions this, is it just me?,,,,looks so stupid
Don't buy the Islander or any other Blackbox product through MSFS2020 Marketplace . You won't be able to upgrade the mod, and let me say that the Blackbox Customer Service is unexistent.
