Bro without watching the video I will tell you that there's no player after Hakeem that play his position better than him, and he always dominated his position on and of the floor, I love Hakeem, thanks for the upload my brother

First of all… thanks for doing your research and your admiration for the Legend! Imagine being from Houston and old enough to see his greatness for the entirety of his career college and pros! Best center hands down! Offense, defense, rebounding, steals, his bag overflowed! Not to mention he didn’t start playing basketball until he was like 16 years old. 🤘🏾💪🏾❤️

I’m from Houston, too.. It’s a tough one for me.. I can make a very good case for the Dream being the best 94 foot player to ever play the game.. Even better than Jordan.. But career accomplishments are huge factor rd in the rankings.. I have him at 6, behind only Mt Rushmore types, 2 of which are centers..
But at their very best?.. I cannot convince myself anyone was better than that guy.. Wow..

So am I. I remember the phi slama jama days as a kid. My mother worked for shell and we'd get free tickets to see the rockets at the summit in the 80's. Man we saw Dr j, the bird celtics, magic and kareem lakers, Jordan and the bulls, the bad boy pistons, everyone. Then in 86 they went to the finals and after that those free tickets got more in demand and would only make a few games and it was always against the worst teams. Anyway as I got my first job my cousin and I got part season tickets which was around 20 games. We witnessed the two choke jobs at home against the suns in 94. They blew two twenty point leads at home including a twenty point lead in the fourth quarter on mothers day. That was the infamous "choke city" game. Anyway after that game everyone thought it was over. Well they went on to win it all. I went to the parade and the celebration at the astrodome. Anyway it feels like Hakeem has been part my entire life and I will cry when he passes, hopefully a long time from now.

Love to see the young men seeing what this man did to Hall of Fame centers. One on one he was unguardable. Ask Shaq. Or Robinson. Any of them.

Great reaction once again. At the beginning of the video, take notice of the *jump stop* where he jumps straight up as he is fed the ball. It was a great setup the defender had to guess which foot you'll use as your pivot. After the jump, Hakeem would spin either side, go into a single shake, double shake, up and under, hook shot, or fade from either side.
Although I am straight up trash as an old man, I used these moves when I was younger and they worked like a charm.

So when and Hakeem and MJ do this. The catch the ball in the post with both feet planted so no pivot foot is established. Then they can operate off of either foot. Makes the move more unpredictable.

He was better defensively, if you can believe that?.. There was no inch of that 94 feet he didn’t dominate..

Truth, still #1 in blocks, and #11 in steals. House of Olajuwon, don't bring anything weak.
