Hakeem was a great player stuck on a middle-tier team for the majority of his career. Even when Houston has "good years" they were often eliminated early in the playoffs. That isn't to dismiss Hakeem as a player. He was a DEMON on the court. He was constantly in your face, constantly hitting shots when he had to, and would be even more lethal in the paint by basically dominating the Center position and forcing YOU to adjust to HIM. He simply didn't have the "bench support" that other GOAT candidates had over the length of his career. He still made his presence known, and still considered one of the best to have played his position. It is just a shame that the team as a whole couldn't quite recruit the right players to elevate the team as a whole over the length of his career. And when Houston finally DID have a team worthy of being a 'top tier threat', they were facing the closing years of Hakeem's career. So, while he won 2 championships, the writing was on the wall. Jordan was back with the bulls and dominating the game. And then, it was time for Houston to rebuild and Hakeem got traded to finish off his last two-three seasons with the Raptors.
