    NBA's greatest center for the last 50 years - super all-around two-way player, legendary footwork & perfected post moves, longevity and model professional with leadership qualities.

      Kareem would like a word…

    • @danielandersson7485

      @@Troutprophet #2 Kareem, who at least was invited to sit at the table (unlike Shaq) would have to sit out on this one as both are masterful offensively - but Hakeem was also masterful defensively where Kareem's "only" very good/great. Hakeem got his Houston (not a superteam) two rings while Kareem won one championship during a weaker era, with Milwuakee, before joining _THE_ superteam.
      Hakeem's also the better leader & as an extra bonus Hakeem was more enjoyable to watch and not as "Duncan-esque"😁

    That face at 1:54 says it all lol! Hakeem THE DREAM! Dude was a guard in a center’s body. There’s a reason even Kobe went to him to work on his game. And this video doesn’t even take into account how good he was getting steals.

    He was unstoppable at this point.. It always makes me chuckle when you guys see him face up on the wing, cross his man over and pull up at the elbow.. lol.. Shocked me the first time I saw it too..

    Just think, Houston management passed on a trade for the #2 pick and Clyde drexler for Ralph Sampson. They could have had a 2nd year Clyde, rookie Hakeem and rookie Jordan. That would be a dynasty capable of dynasties.

    He's about as close to Wilt Chamberlain as any center has come. (much better free throw shooter) Great all around player. Nice human being. Always gave 100%. Had an incredible refined offensive game. A rock solid rebounder and defender.

    Give me Jordan and Hakeem and you can pic any two players in NBA history and I like my chances. Someone once said….How good is Hakeem?? How many people kill Houston for taking him over Jordan??

  • @TheNightOwl11683
    @TheNightOwl11683 Před dnem

    3:01 Yeah, he was a decent three point shooter, but he never needed to, nor was there any reason for him to do so. Kenny Smith said he would hit 5 of 8 from 3 in practice, but Hakeem told him why would he do that when he killed everyone else in the post? Only Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, & Shaq would make him work harder in the post. In the 1995 Finals, he did hit a 3pt shot in Shaq's face in Game 4 to put the series on ice & clinch his 2nd championship.

    People rank Shaq above Hakeem mainly because Shaq has 4 rings and Hakeem as 2 rings, but Shaq always had another star player with him. What did Hakeem have? Nothing in 1994 except role player Kenny Smith, and then an old but still effective Clyde Drexler in 1995 that was no longer an All-Star. Everyone saw what Hakeem did his 2nd year in the NBA when teamed with All-Star Ralph Sampson, they went straight to the Finals. Give Hakeem at least ONE All-Star, doesn't have to be another superstar like Kobe or Dwayne Wade, but just another All-Star, someone like Mitch Richmond, Kevin Johnson, Sean Elliot or someone like that and I PROMISE YOU, Hakeem at least equals Shaq's 4 rings, if not exceed them and get 5 or 6. Give Hakeem a superstar teammate and Hakeem is right there in the 80s and 90s challenging guys like Magic, Bird and Jordan for championships every year. NBA history would have been totally different.

      Not true. Maxwell had hakeem behind him. Go look at 96 bulls vs San Antonio when maxwell got buckets because their wasn't a center behind him. With that kind of Protection and him being possibly crazy he did go at jordan
