Comparing a 60+ point game back in the 80s and 90s to the modern NBA is apples to oranges. The lack of defense and the amount of 3s players/teams take nowadays have inflated stats significantly. You clearly don’t comprehend how different the game was back then. Btw, that 63-point performance in Round 1 vs that legendary Celtics team in 1986 is still a Playoff Record. He’s also still the only player in NBA history to ever have back-to-back 50+ point games in the Playoffs.

A thought on why so many of these defenders panicked in front of Larry. He was really versatile... he could pass it to a guy nobody thought was open. You asked if Bird was better than Jordan. I think Bird was a better team player than Jordan but Michael Jordan was the most physically gifted player of that era. Both times Bird and Jordan met in the playoffs I believe the Bulls got swept but in a 1on1 situation there was no way Bird could match Jordan. The thing was that Bird played against young Jordan not the Jordan with 6 championship rings. Both players had that next level that most players don't have and opposing players feared. If you took both players at the peak of their careers, there is no way that peak Bird would outperform peak Jordan. bro look at the difference in play style.. EVERY celtic possesion had MULTIPLE QUICK DART PASSES to MULTIPLE cutting teamates, back n forth.. The bulls triangle was nice, but the Celtics ran a free style system where they played off instinct (Laryy Birds instinct). they all followed bird and played just like him.. just watch that team work and passing.. The bulls stand no chance.

I think the Celtics were too deep, too big, too disciplined, to fundementally sound and had WAAAAAT too much team chemistry.. The bulls had great defense, a smooth offense, and jordan and pippen. The celtics had all that plus Bird, and Mchale PLUS Robert parish and Walton off the bench?.. but the determining factor would be the Celtics chemsitry. and Birds clutchness. he would out clutch mike.
