    I had a wave radio on the bench at work and most of the circuit board vias had corroded. The boss decided to send it to Bose who, in their infinite wisdom, kept the machine for months and got proper snotty when we followed up asking how much longer it would take. That's pretty shite for a premium company....Bose used to be on the ball.
    Glad you got this one going again though - thanks for uploading! :)

    For some reason, people will open the wallet to get their Bose fixed. Thanks for the video! I had one of these where the two-piece turret position sensor pot had a crack in its carbon track. It's 10k, and NLA. I had to tunnel through the three disc mechanism to even get to it. Sheesh! All that work, and it's not fixable. Eh win some, loose some.

    I had a gray one of these with a single CD player. Bought at a yard sale. I was playing it one time and the sound started to get weaker and weaker until it stopped working completely. I cracked it open and there was soo many capacitors. I ended up scrapping it because it isn't worth fixing. I kept the speaker/waveguide assembly and a few other parts.

    • @12voltvids

Couple questions: Is it absolutely necessary to solder that short, before remove that Laser eye connection?? And, can I use Rubbing alcohol, and Q-tip to clean all those switches, and also laser eye? or just dry Q-tip for laser eye?? Thanks again, youtheman =)), ps. what are you using to crease gears, drop of vaseline??

Just whip out my voltage detector, and plop those micro screws back in where I took them out…..😮 I need someone to fix mine. I have an old cd collection I want to still enjoy. This might be a stupid question, but....I have a (new to me) 3cd changer, that doesn't load the discs. I can manipulate it (after I've taken it apart, and cleaned/checked things), but if I put power to the unit, the CD's don't go in.
    I think it's aligned right, etc...
    BUT I don't have it hooked up to a AWRCC yet, (I Just got it yesterday and in the short amount of time I've been free I've just concentrated on the CD changer).
    Does it need to be hooked up to the AWRCC to function/take the CDs?

      @@12voltvids Thanks, that makes sense. I was able to hook it up to my Bose, and eventually I got CD's #3 and 4 to work, but not #2. It loads, but doesn't spin. I'm not seeing any obvious things (but it's not in my wheelhouse).
      Maybe something isn't aligned? Or maybe a switch isn't triggering the motor to spin the CD. I thought I cleaned all of them (with deoxit).
      Any advice? thanks in advance.

      Casio Waveceptor WV-300 which uses the 3023 module. It is exceptionally rare.
      Here is a listing when it used to be available.
      www.amazon.com/Casio-WV300DA-7AC-Waveceptor-Atomic-Silver-Tone/dp/B00134JO4U/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
      There is currently one on ebay for about 200.00!
      Goy on Ebay is on drugs. It originally sold for about 140.00 which made it expensive for a Casio, but it is the best one I have owned. Had it since 2003 still on the original battery because it recharges constantly from the solar cell.

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  Před 8 měsíci

      @@user-so8nn5vi7d why what? The short on the laser diode? that is there to prevent static electricity from blowing up the laser diode. They are so sensitive that just static in the are being picked up by the ribbon cable can blow the diode without even touching it. When you buy a new optical block it comes in a static-free clam shell case which is in turn put inside a second static-free bag which is inside a second static shield. Of all the components I have dealt with laser diodes were the most sensitive to ESD

    • @nyprince5922
      @nyprince5922 Před 4 lety +1

      That is for anti-static protection. It will divert any ESD away from the laser diode which is very susceptible to such damage.

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  Před 4 lety +3

      It shorts the laser diode leads (cathode and anode) together to prevent any ESD across the junction when it is disconnected from the drive circuit. Laser diodes are extremely ESD sensitove.

    • @XMguy
      @XMguy Před 4 lety

      Wouldn’t the laser diode have to be grounded to earth to prevent ESD?
