    B mode does not cause misfiring or mimic it. It holds the CVT transmission in a lower gear ratio to help slow the car down while going down a long hill. Normal gas only cars with manual or traditional automatics do this naturally it’s called engine braking and often on more late model cara the ecu cuts fuel during deceleration. this will not wear out your spark plugs.

    • @drkastenbrot
      @drkastenbrot Před 2 lety +3

      Exactly, but it does cause accelerated wear on the gearing. Its fine to use it on hills, but dont use it all the time.

      Sorry that your mechanic is one of those. He may do good work on vehicles but take his opinions with a grain of salt.
      The CT is one of the most reliable cars of this decade just going by the numbers and the only flaws I could find were in the interior.

      I disagree with everything bro, I purchased a new 2015 prius and used it to 400,000 miles zero problems, I always used the B position for 6yrs straight, now I have a 2017 ct200h, purchased with 16k miles now has 87k miles I'm still driving it like I drove the prius constantly using B. As long as you keep up with all the fluids and change air filter, and replace that pcv valve 1 time, and spark plugs I replaced on prius for first time at 250,000 miles and BTW the plugs ok and engine excellent shape. The reason I got rid of prius cuz a tesla suv young driver dui hit it, and it was declared total loss by insurance, it was still running excellent. The secret is to buy a car new or low miles and the way the driver drives. I owned 2003 dodge ram had 250,000 miles, 1991 mustang 5.0 5 speed stick 200,000 miles no problems, my father had 1976 Ford Ltd 350,000 miles v8 zero problems! It's the Damm! Driver/ or drivers or owner that kills the car! Look at all the aggressive people road raging 😂 fools and losers

    Got a 2012 ct200h, car blew the engine back in 2019, had been sitting since then, till I could find an engine for it here in South Africa, I could only find a 2zr fx engine, my mechanic had to change the top from my blown 2zr-fxe to the 2zr fx I bought.. now when we try to run the car, the new engine rattles and has loss of power.. what could be the problem?

      @@gsgcarreviews I’ll have them look into it, they said they’ll check on the faults codes this week, hopefully it will reveal the source of the problem.. it could be the fuel pump🤔..
      A bit of extra info:: the car ran for about 6 months with a blown head gasket, kept consuming coolant almost every week, took it to the dealership for a major service, told em to check on the misfire issue, they said they didn’t find any problem with it🤷🏾‍♂️ few days later, the engine blew a rod right through the block.. I wasn’t on the highway though when it blew, i was in a small residential area next to the house so I just crawled back using the hybrid battery then by the time it got to the driveway, because it’s a steep incline, i had to reactivate the blown engine, it was like it’s running on one cylinder, I’d press on the gas and wait for a few seconds then the car would jolt forward a bit.. maybe that’s a little clue of what might’ve happened to it
