@JohnACorp782 Waiting 5 days for a shitty Commodore game to load as a kid was not confusing like this game. Just frustrating. Cryptic games as a whole also predate the "Commodore" generation (which is more like the Apple ][ generation, if we go by system popularity and relevance).
It reminds me of "Alex Kid in High Tech World". You try it and don't have a clue. Then you try again, but this time seriously. Then again. After few tries you realise it is MUCH harder and more CONFUSING than you anticipated. Gaming in the pre-interent era.
I agree with everyone here. Great memories but very confusing when i played it as a kid. Never forgot about this game though. Classic before the classics.
After grabbing the first two papers, the street used to be hell for taking too long to look for another sheet to appear. Bubblegum was the key to keep all the z's to hold me off. I'm surprised that Sideshow Bob didn't appear in this game because he clearly would be part of Bart's nightmares.
Something I just noticed from the second Bartzilla stage. Some people throw a Super NES at you. But in the Super NES version of this game, they throw a Sega Megadrive instead. Sneaky.
I get an B if i remember well, didn’t reach to get the last game and getting 5 consecutive times the same 2 doors 😅. So frustrating, bit i like it too much, is so fun, specially itchy and scratchy level )
Always remembered that intro song, it's been stuck in my head ever since I played this at 5 years old lol And I had no idea what I was doing most of the time but I still had fun with it
@@solarflare9078 Greendog's at least passable, TaleSpin's theme was pretty good, but besides that yeah. The less we talk about Sonic Spinball the better.
I played this on a disc of NES MegaDrive games among others for PS2 emulator and never reach to overcome all the beginning xD, seeing it now makes me be nostalgic
The game looks much easier then the SNES version. Also I believe papers appear after each event on the main street. jumping blinky, popping gum on the old ladys face, going from toad to back, getting caught in the gang. etc.
I remember just running around the streets, not understanding this game. Then my mum read the guide booklet for me and told me I needed to jump on the paper lol. Thanks mum!
What a tedious game and what a tedious playthrough! I can't believe I used to play this so much ages ago. My favorite minigame was the Itchy and Scratchy one: the mallet was OP as fug.
The Itchy and Scratchy made me think of Tom and Jerry and those Vacuums made me think of Kirby out of the Brave Little Toaster. Another game I found hard as a child and could never beat. It was just a bunch of mini games in it.
If they remaster this game they will call it The Bart Simpson Collection which will also include Bart vs The Space Mutants and Virtual Bart so we can rewind time and fix our Mistakes.
Nice playthrough. I'm playing this at the moment and the indiana-jones temple challenge is driving me mad. I think the reason you only got a B instead of an A despite collecting 8 pages is because you need to get a score of over 100,000 points.
i think i can explain this game. bart stole Otto the bus driver's acid ,and consequently tried some. this explains why an angry bus is trying to kill bart, and why he's hallucinating crazy shit.
In what way ? The sound and the color palette on SNES was way better, also they cut out so many voice quotes from Bart after finishing a level and other areas
This game was so much easier than some of the other 8 and 16 bit Simpsons titles of the 90's. Bart vs the Space Mutants was really hard (I was super happy when I finally beat it), and Virtual Bart was really difficult too, that one I never did manage to finish
My dad bought this game for my birthday back in the 90s for the SNES. Almost 20 years later, i discover that was also on the Genesis. Glad to had the snes one, because as much as i love de Genesis, the SNES version is much better.
interesting - why all old games about simpsons was so strange? i remember and hate this game... about couple hours of late walk dont give me result. and that game about space mutant - i just got power to end first stage... so vampiric games omg... but i hope to see hit n run!
I disliked this game's ending - it's so short, I'd not feel very rewarded for beating it. I actually don't remember beating any of the minigames, it was hard for me back in the day, and it seems I'm not the only one who thinks so. And it gets weirder if you considered there's a lot of effort put into the graphics and sounds. By the way, when compared to the SNES version, the Genesis version is not missing anything and even in the sound department it doesn't sound any bad - I actually prefer the Genesis sound on this one.
Here's an easter egg for the Bartzilla level. Watch closely what the people throw out the windows when Bartzilla is climbing the building. In the SNES version, one lady throws a Sega Genesis out the window and in this version, the same lady throws a Turbo Grafx 16 out the window.
thecowboy2 Wait She Did!? And I Thought Sega & Nintendo Were Rivals That Time. That Must Of Show How Nintendo Maybe Likes Sega Meh I Don't Know. But I Think It Is Evidence About That To.
Just watching this is taking me back to that wretched nostalgia critic "Let's play" video. His yelling and complaining was more annoying than the game itself.
i love this game; but i could never get past the indiana jones level had all the rest but that one. my favorites are the itchy and scratchy levels and bartman.
This is the most hardest and confusing game to play as a kid.

Oop

Virtual Bart is even harder, not confusing like this, but harder than this.
I remember it being the most confusing game among my Mega Drive games. I never knew what I was supposed to do, walking the streets was hard too.
This is another game from my childhood I never beat. In fact, I don't think I finished a single mini game.
All the Simpsons games were ridiculously hard.
it was way to hard there were a couple of mini games I could beat every now and then , but it was too hard for kids
the only mini game i ever beat as a kid was the water one
It reminds me of "Alex Kid in High Tech World". You try it and don't have a clue. Then you try again, but this time seriously. Then again. After few tries you realise it is MUCH harder and more CONFUSING than you anticipated. Gaming in the pre-interent era.
It was hard
I wonder if any kid was able to beat this game.
Q I DID I AM PRESIDENT TRUMP

@TheVoiceOfTruth I just wish it got a sequel back on the day, with like another 10 mini challenges.
I heard the papers get harder to find when there becomes less and less of them.
Something I just noticed from the second Bartzilla stage. Some people throw a Super NES at you.
But in the Super NES version of this game, they throw a Sega Megadrive instead.
Sneaky.
NINTENDO did what SEGAdon't
The music walking through Springfield reminds me of Toejam and Earl
And the snes version reminds me of earthbound
anyone who think video game music is actually listenable is a moron ! laugh my gen x ass off !😅 lmgxao
I can't believe how long it takes for a page to spawn.
It is frustrating and unfair to say the least
Ah man... I loved this game as a kid, but completely forgot about it. Thank you for the nostalgia
lol Brings back old memories playing this Game... Nice Work.
Best grade I ever managed in this game was C+ felt so bad that I couldn't do better.
I get an B if i remember well, didn’t reach to get the last game and getting 5 consecutive times the same 2 doors 😅. So frustrating, bit i like it too much, is so fun, specially itchy and scratchy level )
Man, when I was a kid the possibilities felt so endless with this game
9:52 Apu on a flying carpet is something you won't see today
Racism!?
Yeah.
Yep.. cause nobody knows how to laugh at a joke anymore. Sad world.
Always remembered that intro song, it's been stuck in my head ever since I played this at 5 years old lol
And I had no idea what I was doing most of the time but I still had fun with it
At least the sound is good, it uses GEMS' sample playback capabilities really well, with the Simpsons theme, voice clips etc.
This is probably one of the only GEMS OSTs that are at least decent.
@@solarflare9078 kid chameleon is another soundtrack that's pretty cool I think.
@@solarflare9078 Greendog's at least passable, TaleSpin's theme was pretty good, but besides that yeah. The less we talk about Sonic Spinball the better.
Itchy and Scratchy mini game was the best

Thank you for this video✨
I played this on a disc of NES MegaDrive games among others for PS2 emulator and never reach to overcome all the beginning xD, seeing it now makes me be nostalgic
wow never thought I'd see this again
Game is trippy af. I played it at a friend's house when I was 5 years old.
This game is over 25 years old now. Let that sink in.
Ah back when games where too hard and you needed skills
Was 3 and started playing tf out of this game… brutal!
The worst stage was that awful Indiana Jones dream. Never finished it because of that trashy level.
Baximus the walking one with the nasty kissing grandma
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU
I DONT KNOW YOU
Baximus It's basically mostly guessing game which sucks.
Baximus i beat it with emulator only....
How the hell could you do it without saving?
Also the godzilla level...
azmanabdula The Godzilla level at least its more easier, you could see most things before that get you
Why of all things did Marge become a giant angry butterfly? To this day, that one question still gets to me.
It's Momthra, a take on Mothra.
Bart Simpson: "Hi, I'm Bart Simpson. Welcome to our show."📺
Never understood this but loved every minute 😂😂
This game is pure fever dream
The game looks much easier then the SNES version. Also I believe papers appear after each event on the main street. jumping blinky, popping gum on the old ladys face, going from toad to back, getting caught in the gang. etc.
wow my classic game favorite 😎
The game that never ended!!!
It ended when you got all 8 pages
This game really does need to be remade for this generation
The game has a great premise but not sure anyone would be tempted to remake it.
Now understand the game you need jump into the PAGES for complete the game, when I was a kid
i complete ignore the pages
They were hard to get
I remember just running around the streets, not understanding this game. Then my mum read the guide booklet for me and told me I needed to jump on the paper lol. Thanks mum!
Shout out to everyone of us that had this game 💯🔥....
Jeez after collecting all those pages I expected atleast an A how they gunna do Bart like that
What a tedious game and what a tedious playthrough! I can't believe I used to play this so much ages ago.
My favorite minigame was the Itchy and Scratchy one: the mallet was OP as fug.
I swear, the entire purpose of this game was just to make a kid-friendly lesson on what an acid trip is like.
i use to play this too much!
Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Bartman!🦸
Another incredibly hard SImpson's game I never beat as a kid.
Don’t know what’s worse about this game. The difficulty or how drunk the music sounds in the intro stage.
Recuerdo que solia jugar esto en mi ps2, que recuerdos...
Virtual Barts my jam. This one was ridiculously confusing
Este juego lo jugué cuando tenía 6 años y ahora tengo 30 clásico de los 90
The Itchy and Scratchy made me think of Tom and Jerry and those Vacuums made me think of Kirby out of the Brave Little Toaster. Another game I found hard as a child and could never beat. It was just a bunch of mini games in it.
Lore of Mega Drive Longplay [433] The Simpsons: Barts Nightmare Momentum 100
very unusual levels, interesting game and hard game
QUE NOSTALGIA
Bart and Lisa are watching Itchy and Scratchy on TV, laughing.📺
If they remaster this game they will call it The Bart Simpson Collection which will also include Bart vs The Space Mutants and Virtual Bart so we can rewind time and fix our Mistakes.
Al fin entiendo cómo se jugaba jajaja recuerdo haber pasado alguno de los minijuegos menos el de las rocas
cool, I never even realized a genesis version existed
1:51 i knew smiling joe fission always said hiiiii there but as a kid i always thought he always said get hell outta there. Lol
Nice playthrough. I'm playing this at the moment and the indiana-jones temple challenge is driving me mad. I think the reason you only got a B instead of an A despite collecting 8 pages is because you need to get a score of over 100,000 points.
I remember renting this and being so frustrated because I couldn’t figure out what to do 😂 But I had to jump on one of the pages…
i think i can explain this game.
bart stole Otto the bus driver's acid ,and consequently tried some.
this explains why an angry bus is trying to kill bart, and why he's hallucinating crazy shit.
How to use the whip in the level of the orange door? And soda in Evergreen Terrace?
Better than the SNES version, but that's not saying much... Virtual Bart is way better.
In what way ? The sound and the color palette on SNES was way better, also they cut out so many voice quotes from Bart after finishing a level and other areas
The music in the beginning bumps
There's Bartzilla🦖👹🔥🌃

Haha i have done that game, but this doesn’t, by only one level XD
12:29 Smithers resembles Matthew Lesko in this version.
They still look disappointed after a B

Isn’t it just me or the Title Screen music reminds me of the 1986-89 NFL on CBS “Pots and Pans theme”??
this was as fun as it was confusing
I've seen all of Mike matei's streams of this game's SNES port and from what I've watched it's a potential rage quit game:o
This is still the weirdest game I have ever played in my life
NOSTALGIA. never completed it :(
Could never pass that damn orange door! I’d always freaking lose :/
The itchy and scratchy level used to scare me ad a kid.
All Simpson's n batman games r hard ass hell
This need a remake!!!
Acid trip
Still don't get the idea on the indiana jones nightmare, it was the hardest one to bet but I luckily did when I was 5
Hardest game in my childhood
I love movies like Indiana Jones, Batman, Kong and Godzilla.📺🎬🎫🎥📽️📼🍿🎞️🎟️📀🎦

Just watching this is taking me back to that wretched nostalgia critic "Let's play" video. His yelling and complaining was more annoying than the game itself.
Annoying is what he's great at doing.
To be far, the Nostalgia Critic was just doing what he's best at. Being overrated.
I got a D-....so I guess I passed at the game!!! Reminded me of that episode lol.
The only minigame that screwed me over as i couldnt figure it out for the life of me was Maggie's temple
exactly, the only minigame that made me wanna pull my hair out after searching for the damn paper. beat the rest tho
i love this game; but i could never get past the indiana jones level had all the rest but that one. my favorites are the itchy and scratchy levels and bartman.
if this is barts night mare that explain a lot of his behavior xD
>Bart
>studying
LMAO
I beat this game once on the SNES
Took all night
I think I got a C+
Scary

I feel terrible for Bart.
it look just like that snes

AVGN glossed over this one in his Simpsons episode.
