Well, the short version for why the Genesis saw a lot of ports from the Amiga and Atari ST is that they all shared the same CPU, the Motorola M68000. So that made it easier to do Genesis ports, compared to the SNES which had totally different hardware. Plus the M68000 was super-common in the 80s, so it was easy to find programmers with experience with it.
(IMO, this is why the Genesis had such a strong lineup of third party titles even in its first year. It was easy for existing US and European computer games shops to jump into developing for it, compared the competition.)

i always love the build up in your videos. self explaining title, an intro on why you chose this game and version, first impression review, a bit info, a single joke to fresh it up (without being a bad comedian as many other yt'ers) a bit more in depth info on why you have this verdict...without boring bits and bytes and pixels add ups.... and on top of it we all get a great rest of our day!… i really like the style best of all retro gaming channels. please keep the channel going. love it so much.

This inexplicably came bundled with Game Gear when I got one for Christmas in the early 90s. You also got Columns and Sonic. Shortly after I blew all my Xmas/bday money on a 2nd hand SNES so for months I was charging the Game Gear external battery pack to play Sonic the Hedgehog, Columns and.... Chuck Rock.
Sounds dire but the first two were obviously very replayable and Chuck Rock had some challenge to it and I wound up playing a ton of it. Felt very accomplished every time I saw a new goofily animated dinosaur boss. Not bad for a game whose art style I initially HATED.
The Genesis version looks worlds more colourful and interesting. Good video as always.

It's funny, y'know, the main thing I've gained from watching your reviews is a new appreciation for the technical power of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I was a Nintendo kid growing up in the console wars (like you) so for literal decades I'd laboured under the impression that the SNES was just straight-up a better console than the Genesis and the only reason you'd want to get a Genesis rather than a SNES was misguided brand loyalty, the exclusive titles and the uncensored blood in Mortal Kombat (a residual bias from the time when Nintendo and Sega fans _hated_ each other with a passionate loathing). Until I watched your videos I never really grasped that there were games that WERE better on the Genesis than the SNES, or that there was anything the Genesis did better than the SNES.
