Hello Mister Barry. Since i wanted the 1st movie as official copy anyway (got the uncut youtube version in the archive already) this was the perfect reminder to get the bundle. All hail to the B-a(r)shens.

I feel that. So frustrating yet relatable to see Stuart struggling while a hot mess grows, then a cut to Barry's appetizing and tidy food.
Ok, every single time the video cuts to Ashen's waffle maker, its way funnier than i was expecting and laughed every single time. The editing is on point.
Can i just say- Even after lockdown, i think this "trying to create the same recipe while 100 miles away" thing seems really fun

This really felt like a Linton-edited video and I wasn't wrong. Frankly, this felt just a like a Barshens video minus the crew purely because of the editing.

This really demonstrates how much Barry has learned from running this channel for years. The contrast between him and Ashens is great, especially since Ashens normally plays the more competent Straight Man.
In theory, you should both have had similar results. In reality, you were a universe apart. Hilarious!
I think watching an otherwise bright person muck up things that Barry manages so effortlessly really demonstrates just how good Barry has gotten at cooking.
The editing of this was so good and being socially distanced made this far funnier , seeing poor Stuart struggling whereas Barry nailed it every time.
I think we can tell the difference between the man who cooks, and the man, who receives his food via mail...
Everything Stuart cooked is still probably better than most of the things he's sent

I feel sorry for Stuart's girlfriend, it sounds like she was happy they had a waffle maker. I think he will have to very quickly buy a replacement after these experiments, although it is good to see Barry and Stuart together again even if it is a socially distanced visit :-)

I'm loving this, but it's kinda surreal too. It's not merely a Bashens video: it's like partially an MVK video and partly an Ashens video.
And man, what a rollercoaster that was. I was not expecting such a break-neck twist at the end!

For the Pot Noodle one, it might have tasted better if you'd saved the soup part to use as a dip or poured it over like gravy.
One of these men knows what he's doing. One is a nutcase who usually burns stuff near a knackered old sofa. Both are legends.
For the latter, I would put "usually" in massive air quotes, because he unfortunately doesn't do it anymore since his blowtorch ran out of fuel and he refused to refuel it.

The polybius heist is very good for the budget they had. It was definitely better than I was expecting and funny. No, it is not the best film but you wouldn’t expect that. It is however, great fun and lovingly made. Solid 9/10 if you like Ashens humour you will enjoy it

If you don't like a Pot Noodle because of how Soupy it is, follow this advice; Do not fill to the line, fill until you just cover the noodles and everything is submerged. Do not wait 2 minutes, wait 15 minutes. This gives sufficient time for the noodles to absorb the water, leaving it coated in a rich dense flavourful sauce that's not washed out by the water. If you ensure the pot noodle is covered well in that time, it will stay hot.

Anytime I have a sticky mess on the waffle iron I fold a thick paper towels to fit on the plates. Add a little boiling water just enough to dampen and close... don't latch. Leave for a day & the gunk comes off.
This is a brilliant idea actually. You and Stu doing it separately and seeing the difference in results is VERY entertaining.
Had I never found Barry, I never would’ve found Ashens. Love both of these guys!

I have to say, I really like the inversion of Ashens' negative effort spam nuggets coming out better than Barry's molded waffle coronary.
Also, you might be able to get the pot noodle waffles to work with less faffing about with a baking dish by adding some sort of binder. A soft to medium boiled egg is a traditional condiment for proper ramen, so I'd say beating an egg or two and mixing with the pot noodle wouldn't be off-key. Would also help dilute the saltiness a bit.

It's funny Barry's camera with saturation and proper settings makes things look delicious matching the results and asens desaturation camera matches his so well

If there were ever any doubts about just how good of a cook Barry is, this seals it, no real differences in recipes, equipment or utensils etc... just a difference in the skill/knowledge/experience of the cooks and look how different the results were! and that's in no way derogatory for Stuart, I feel like every decision he made was perfectly rational and probably what i would've done as well.
