14:09 the steam is building up because you need to remove the black cap from the clear lid/bowl to release steam. That is also where you put butter during the popping process. The steam will melt butter and butter the popcorn while popping.
Edit: I used to use mine for roasting fresh "green" coffee beans.

This popcorn maker is the same kind that my grandmother used since I was a lil girl...I'm 44 now. She passed a few years back and the popper came to me. It still works fantastic...the only thing we ended up having to replace was the lid because it had fallen off the table years ago and cracked...my grandpa tried to value it but we knew it wouldn't hold, so we looked up the company and order just the bowl/lid. You can put your butter and even caramel right in with the unpopped popcorn and make caramel corn! Best popper EVER!!!!

I used to have that popcorn machine. When heating, take the black lid off the bottom to stop the steam build up, then put it back on before you tip it

For UK recipes spoons are heaped, but for baking, a *level* spoon is required
Look through your old recipe books Barry.
    Love the videos.

The scraping of the peanutbutter would have worked perfectly with a dutch 'Pannenlikker'!!!

I had a similar popper for years, but it was a pain to clean. Ended up switching to an air popper, which was oil-less, so I prefer it.

If anyone else said to me dip popcorn In paprika mayonnaise I’d ask them if they were crazy ..... Barry does it and now I’m raiding the kitchen cupboards at 11.30pm 😂

I think the cube would be good for like drinks mixing where it's all liquid and would be easy to pour and something fun at your bar

Tearing up watching you test the popcorn maker - we never know when we're doing things which will be the moments when memories are made. Growing up, we ate a LOT of popcorn. Our popper was the huge, deep one, and for the 4 of us, we usually made at least 2 batches at a time. When we went to the movies, Dad would pop enough to fill a brown paper grocery sack full for us to share. I remember being given an old (cleaned) ham tin full of popcorn to snack on, and the magic of rainbow kernels - what a marketing grab! Dad would experiment, using bacon or sausage grease instead of oil, or using the popper to caramelize sugar to pour over the popcorn, or eating it with grated havarti and lemon pepper. I remember our first "Air Popper", and how we hated it - who wants to eat styrofoam? lol. The Christmases where we got the huge tins of multi-flavored popcorn were the best, and Poppycock was the most prized snack out there. My dad is 80 now, and has been suffering through Stage 4 prostrate cancer for nearly 3 years now, so memories like these are so much more precious. Thank you

I've seen a 3D printed version of the "kitchen cube" in a video before, this seems to be a commercial variant. If you happen to have a 3D printer, you could make your own with the .stl file, though using anything other than dry food on a 3D printed surface would be inadvisable for food safety reasons and you would have to be careful with temperature when cleaning it. The file is up on thingiverse if anyone wants to try it though, just look up "bakercube" and it's the first hit, should be a very simple print!

I had the same(similar) popcorn maker, the black top should come off and you can pour your melted butter thru it and it dribbles it over the popcorn on as it turns to get a more even coating. Then you snap the lid back on and invert it to serve.

Had the kitchen cube since they were just going through their kickstarter campaign. Printed it on my 3D printer because before going commercial they launched it on thingiverse. The files for printing are still there for download
