- The little small German Holy Roman Empire (HRE) state of Hesse is probably one of my favorite nations and definitely my favorite German nation to play in europa universalis 4. This nation backs a punch with pretty good ideas, a nice German formable that's not Prussia and a lot of mid game and late game protentional. What will happen in this campaign? Will we survive and prosper or fall by the wayside of the campaign.

That was lowkey a Germany roleplay session. You are a the strongest nation with great provinces, but everyone hates you for existing and it's impossible to make alliances.

Germany in its entire history was never the declared war on... Fucking wehraboos
@kalinka4482 It kinda was. Germany was only able to ally Austria and the Ottomans. They were never going to be able to ally France, the United Kingdom, or Russia. That was mostly the fault of the Kaiser, however the other GP's considered Germany to be a threat to their power or were neutral.
@@itriedtochangemynamebutitd5019 Its because Kaiser had lots of ambitions, if it werent for Wilhelm ww1 might have never even happened, he was the one who advised and guaranteed the declaration of War on serbia, he was the one who attacked neutral belgium and dragged UK into the War, he was the one who kept sunking US vessels and he was the one who gave the zimmerman.
@@kalinka4482 The war would've happened regardless. Even Bismark predicted almost exactly when and how WW1 would start.
I can't tell if I am truly garbage at this game or if this mod lets you feasibly field 200k troops in 1530. Playing a vanilla multi campaign rn as Scotland and I'm fielding about 70k in 1520ish. Good vid!!
A lot of developing and full buildings will let you do the same or even more in vanilla
Well you really are quite the weak underbelly if your max cap is only 70k by 1530
@@Atajew man, i am bad at this game as well. I just dont even bother comparing myself to such tryhards and play with more relaxed people. ... Hell, most of the time i dont even like fighting player wars.

hesses starting location in germany helped me ALOT to expand fast and later form germany easily, brandenburg was always wa harder to get into the south without snaking beyond bordergore

Hesse in vanilla has the nice bonus of starting with a glass province to spawn Faceting in.
Because they have Dip Rep in their traditions, it is usually not easy to take it off them when playing as their neighbors.

Hesse has a nice mission tree yes, you could also try out Thuringia or The Palatinate. You could also form Franconia and get claims on France amongst others, without ever forming Germany.
Long since I played, but I remember these in particular, as I like to min/max my vassals for WC and such, playing their mission trees to the fullest.
Astrakhan is my favourite vassal. Their tree isn't unique but they are the easiest/most available vassal to start feeding basically half the world.
Edit: And Novgorod. Novgorod is a great vassal. Just ignore their money problems for the most part.

The weirdest thing though is that I was playing Total War Atilla today with the 1212 AD mod, and I SWEAR that song started playing before I got into a battle. But shazam still couldn't get it. God those Imperial German ideas were beautiful. Wish they had those in the base game. Aswell as an overhaul of the German mission tree. Maybe a chance to get some type of Military dictatorship like in ww2?
