- In this video I play the nation of Austria, one of the most powerful nations in Europa Universalis 4. Is it still very powerful in multiplayer? Well yes but even more so in the gecko multiplayer mod, the mod used in this campaign. We start as a small Emperor and are near many players. The holy roman empire is ours and we will try to Centralize the Holy Roman Empire. As we do so, many challenges lay in our way, will we be able to stand the test of time in this campaign? i cant imagine the pain of fighting an intense war and having to deal with 100k+ ai troops randomly sieging provinces in nowhere running away when you go for them and then randomly attacking your stacks out of nowhere

As far as the gecko mod that focuses only on Europe, its a nobrainer that its way better. In the other regions the balance of power really sucks, so you either are bored or too weak to do anything. And i mean the game is called Europa Universalis after all, so yeah it's great!

Hei Habibi loved the vid! The constant war videos are my favourite. I dont think anyone cares if you dont make it into the top 3 at the end of of the game. These wars are soo much more interesting and I belive if you keep it up then you will reach the level of skill where you can fight wars all throughout the game and still take the nr. 1 spot!

Yes a Gecko Mod Video!!
Gecko is all fine and all, but Mewar is my favourite nation in both SP and MP. So yeah, Gecko isn't for me, it deletes my main!
Plus my next up favourites are Persia, Shimazu, Bahmanis, Morocco, Poland and Castile. Persia feels weird in Gecko and 2 more of my picks get deleted. Not exactly helping selling the mod to me (I really enjoy India as a whole, I think it id more unique than most of the map and Dharma is the best dlc IMHO).
Other than that, Custom Nations are actually what I prefer over everything else, for MP, and I have not yet seen CN balance choices in Gecko.

Your income in 1499 is insane. I played a MP game with buddies this weekend (on Gecko v7) and none of us was even close to your income (even taking out the vassal income). Is that a function of playing Austria or does the competition have similar incomes? None of us have mad skillz, but the difference is staggering.
I had number 2 economy at that point, number 1 was Arabia. But yea it’s high but very achievable income

I dunno why you would, it’s centered around multiplayer gameplay, and thus would suck a lot for single player.

Its funny how you say that you play vanilla. It tbh not really vanilla. Vanilla players don't have a centralization/decentralization route they have just to one.
And playing as Austria complete vanilla and try to finnish that is really a challange.
Though it quite the chad nation if your interested in stregic marriages.
Had few days ago a vanilla game, not going for much just playing tall with few fights, but I was able to spread my dynasty to most nation within europe, while juniorpartnering many.
If you wait for Bohemia a few years you often have bohemia vassalize the smaller narion next to poland. While Hungary goes for wallachia and Krotia you meanwhile have to reduce some of the bigger HRE Nation to 1State Minors while keep punishing the ottomans, which gets you enough provinces to still integrate the thicker hungary. With austria junioroartners have basically zero independence tendecies so you can have half of Europe under you, while not being that big and even less technical advances, from integrating permanently - unless you try ro kill your dynasty by permanently ditching the king into wars...
If you tey ro go for long term playing without stressing for wolrd domination it funny how far you can spread it. In 1650 I had a thick Mailand(everything except Venedig+Neaples). Thick Burgund (whole holland). Decent size chunk Denmark (Norway+bit of sweden+ Canada/New Fundland) +a Thick Poland and Bohemia (whole czechia and DDR)+Hungary with myself havibg whole balkans. Though then I stopped playing since peemanently integrating junior partners had me loosing on the tech side so it was just playing tall and punishing rebels which happenedbpermanently since in vanilla playing purely tall is not really a good option. Start with not being able to switch to empire.

What can a regular nation without insane manpower buffs from being Emperor and a vassal swarm that has more troops than a player nation (as well as their lv3 forts) do?
They would have to take much more debt and go over force limit, whereas Austria has Vassal force limit contribution and their vassal fees/trade

They could've not voted him in before he revoked, plus even with vassal swarm the vassals quality sucked and players will outscale since they dev and build better than the AI does. He still almost lost the second Italian war 4v1 until Brandenburg joined (making it a 4v2). Whilst the power he had seemed strong the first war could've ruined him had the Italians pushed further (if they could, I didn't know how manpower/finances looked) and other nations can get just as strong as Austria if played right (Imagine if Brandenburg had sided with Hesse against Austria and Hesse hadn't gone over AE before enough AI were dead). He did good diplo and split people into factions long enough that he could revoke and then also keep some Allies.
