I feel worse for the Stormtroopers than for Clones tbh. Stormtroopers were just some kids from dirt poor planets that either wanted to get away from their miserable planet or make a genuine difference in the galaxy, not knowing that they don't matter at all to the higher ups and are just as expendable as Clones. On one hand they had a militaristic dictatorship and on the other hand they had crime and poverty running rampant.

What’s sad is that I’ve watched Star Wars with veterans from the Vietnam, Korean, and Afghanistan war and they all agreed that they resonated the most with the stormtroopers. It’s not that they were mere tools of death and destruction, but they all knew what it’s like to retreat into your sense of duty and patriotism when forced or asked to do something that many would consider a war crime. I remember one of them telling me “it’s not a war crime if your side wins, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t follow you for the rest of your life”

The sad fact is, when the merciless Rebels gunned down countless stormtroopers, they saw them as just cogs in a machine. The machine, of the Galactic Empire. These Stormtroopers had families. They had husbands, wives, and kids. They had unique stories and lives that they lead, only to be gunned down by people who saw them as cannon fodder. Meanwhile, when the stormtroopers were killing the rebels, they saw them as terrorists that could kill their families, they were fighting for a cause worth fighting for. They managed to get stolen goods, some of which were T-7 Ion Disruptors, and you probably know what that is... I did, when I saw everyone I once knew get erased from existence within a moment, their cells exploding and vaporizing. Hours for them, mere milliseconds for me. The only reason I survived was because of a grenade, I played dead since it was too far to harm me, and they fell for it. Stormtroopers were the weak ones, right? Surely the grenade killed the last of them. They didn't expect me to rise from the dead and shoot them in the backs of their heads. I ended up burying the rifles, nothing like that should exist at all.

True they are better soliders in legends (real Canon as far as I'm concerned) but they still were inferior to the clone troopers. The clones basically were raised to fight together and oddly enough learned to view themselves as individuals and each other as family. Stormtroopers, even in legends, were treated as nothing more than a number and expendable. Overall that means that they are less efficient as a unit and likely didn't trust the other members of their unit to have their backs. Their were exceptions in legends when a officer would go out of their way to ensure that the troops under his command were taken care of, which usually lead to better results...at least until another officer gets jealous of their and sabotages them.

Luke's, SPEEDERBIKE victim, most likely suffered the injury you suggested, but, just as easily, could have been instead death, by that impact "souping his brain", in his skull and helmet. Brain soup possibilities aside, the broken back and or neck, would be far worse -especially if not found by the omnivorous and apparently predatory natives. Slow starvation, dehydration, and an armored body shaped tomb full of body waste..is..even more depressingly horrific to think of than the already horrifying thought of being helplessly eaten alive.. which is really really..bad.

But now I just think “Oh, I wonder what humorous death Disney planed this time”. How am I supposed to fear for the safety of the protagonists if the antagonists are just so unthreatening? I think an honorable mention should go to the stormtrooper that got kicked in the face by Kallus and then fell to his death on Kessel, poor guy fell into a seemingly endless pit and got kicked in the head by the commanding officer just so he could survive

Ezra taking control of the walker pilot and mowing down the storm troopers on the ground was messed up. Then the pilot, still under Ezra's control, just walks off a cliff. The pilot was basically a spectator to his own death and the death of his comrades, wtf.

Awesome compilation and very interesting slow motion captures and explinations - very well done! However - what I like most was the soundtrack :-) Metal, synth wave and some other stuff - thumbs up for your fine taste :-D

Of course, this doesn't mention all the horrible deaths suffered by troopers at our own hands while playing Star Wars video games like The Force Unleashed, Jedi-Fallen Order, or the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.

Slag dipping, tossed off of platforms, crushed, Death Star laser beams. The list would go on for Fallen Order and Dark Forces, but I never played those games.

I find it funny in a morbid way that of the ten death scenarios listed here, Moff Gideon's forces suffered three of them. If I were a Remnant trooper I'd be trying to find a new Moff quick like...

Fun fact: when stormtroopers are shot, most of the time they don’t die unless it’s a headshot. They are knocked out for a while from the pain. The lasers are mostly heat. The armor absorbs it but it still can puncture the skin. Most stormtroopers actually survive. Once again if it’s a head shot they most likely were killed or no armour.

Both troopers (clone and storm) deaths were sad but then again, clones fought for something good and had good humour and personality’s. Clones didn’t get enough respect because they sacrificed themselves and it wasn’t there fault doing order 66

Clones also have WAY more screen time than stormtroopers. We don't get a chance to see personality. And most of them probably believed they were fighting for something good.

I sing this song and beat this dead horse so much, but here it is again
I wish there were more scenes like the opening to ANH showing stormtroopers to be fast brutal and efficient. Also they didn’t die in droves in the OT at the very least not nearly as quickly in R1 and Mando.
Hell in OT and TFA the good guys feared them. Then you got the Mandalorian where they literally accomplish nothing and are made fun of in universe. That’s my primary reason that I can’t get invested in that show, the complete lack of any real threat.
R1 was good, but it bugs me to see a dozen or so troopers drop dead as soon as they get into the mission area. They do take a few guys down which is pretty good it’s just still seeing dozens of Imperial bodies at once kinda takes away any threat aspect of them.
In ANH, wholesale Rebel destruction, wiped jawas, of course Owen and Beru. The good guys were constantly kept on the run as opposed to dealing with super heroes that always succeed in standing their ground while completely fearless.
In ESB, it’s mostly the walkers that cause devastation but they still storm the base despite not shown to kill anyone. There seriously should’ve been a few skirmishes in the base. On Bespin there should’ve been a few Bespin guards to help the crew escape and maybe a few of them could’ve been dropped along the way(the guards would technically be from Star Trek cuz they’d be blue shirts heh). Despite not seeing them take anyone down, at least they kept the crew on the run.
As for ROTJ, yeah they get wiped by teddy bears. BUT, a scout trooper pimp slaps Solo across the face(lol), another successfully knocks Leia off her bike, but dies, and another knocked the JEDI Luke off his bike, but dies. When it comes to the main battle, it’s really not super humiliating. The only time we see a trooper best an Ewok is when he yeets one off of him. Then the AT-STs continue to mop up. But around the Bunker you can find a few fallen Rebel commandos implying they got shot, and one stormboi puts a successful hit on Leia. Ultimately they lost but they were not entirely ineffective.
It’s really not fair to have the most iconic baddies in this beloved franchise be treated like dirt so much thanks to Disney. They weren’t failures and they weren’t in universe jokes(I mean it’s fine for fans to joke about them, that’s part of the fun). Now no one’s scared and everyone is a superhero. It’s cool that we see so much of the Stars now, now they just need to eventually reincorporate the Wars.

It’s sad what the stormtroopers have to go through, because they’re made to do this
