    I have the split bumper 70 1/2 comaro b m. Built it 2 years ago. And my wife airbrushed it and claimed it as her own. Only model she did. Wish I could put a pic up to view. An older kit tho. Cragers also. Lol

    A very special car for me. Drove my '71 Placer Gold, black stripes Z\28 4 speed full bumper for 14 years. Yes, NEVER should of sold that car and dearly miss it! This is a must have build for me. Placer gold blk stripes for sure!

    In the late 70's I had a 701/2 Full Bumper SS396, which I purchased from a friend for 600.00. It was all original w/motor & trans (faded Marlboro Red w/ 3 pc rear spoiler), the only thing nor original was the fiberglass L-88 hood. I replaced the 396 (which had a spun bearing) with a 71 454 from a Chevelle. I sold it in 85 just before my 1st son was born (Bought a 72 Grand Prix for my wife) I really miss that car. I just got the AMT Full Bumper kit so I can build a model of my Camaro. keep up the videos they are help in my getting back into car modelling after a 30 year hiatus.

    Growing up, one of the cars that built me, was my uncle's 72 full bumper Camaro. It started life as a regular vinyl top Berlinetta, but layer gained a 396 big block, an L-88 hood, the three piece spoiler, and a candy apple red paint job with black SS/ z/28 stripes.
    Having said that... I know the standard grille had larger "egg crate" openings... would be super cool if someone made the standard base model grille *hint hint*

    This year Camaro is my favorite, split bumper, especially, and I'm a Mustang guy. I also like the small rear spoiler, over the 3-piece, on the 70 1/2. Thanks for the comparison.

      @TheLukaCeeChannel  Před 2 lety

      Me too. In a way. I use to have a resin casting business that I made a very nice conversion kit to turn the original rs version into a standard nose. I sold TONS before I closed down. Now that I am bring back my resin line. This kit killed my conversion. LOL. but honestly. I'm not even upset. This kit is way better.

    • @tycobb9999
      @tycobb9999 Před 2 lety

      I probably bought a couple. I know I bought that conversion, as well as consoles, transmissions, and large spoiler to replicate my first car, a 1973 Type LT.
      Not to get too off topic, but do you plan to do resin parts for the later 4 spoke steering wheel and/or the later high back buckets? Can’t find them anywhere, other than buying a now expensive Monogram 1979 Z/28. Thanks again.

    Both models are very nice, i just prefer the split bumper versions because to me, they look better. I think the full bumper version running across the nice grille ruins the look. Just my own opinion. Again, both nice looking Camaro models

    This is a very special and surprising release, I owned in my younger years both a '69 RS and '71 Z/28 Camaro. Love these era Camaro's. I'm also a HUGE Grumpys fan! He was my favorite drag racer of all time. Saw him run at Baylands raceway in Fremont Ca. When those guys showed up to race there was standing room only! Seeing those grumpys toys up close in the pits was incredible! I've been waiting for decades for the re release of the '70 grumpys Camaro, have the new grumps Vega....throw down some gold dust and build them! (if you know Jenkins you what the gold dust was used for)

      I have two of those Toy 8 kits. One in the box and one built. I have to say. There is No Need what so ever. For that kit to ever get reissued. It is not that good compared to these kits I featured in this video. But with that said. Looking at the popularity of this vega kit. And when they did the 66 Nove kit as a "G" Toy. It would be great marketing for them to put out the Baldwin Motion kit. Add a Grump Lump and Lakewood driver safety bar. Wrap it with that old MPC Toy 8 Boxart. BLAM! You've got a NEW Grumpys Toy 8 kit

  • @johnhughes9019
    @johnhughes9019 Před 3 lety

    Round2 ostensibly had to go through a lot of modifications to create the standard , full-bumper facia for the new release . 'A' for effort on reducing that divet of the interior dome lamp --- only primer and sanding will reveal just how much is was subdued .
    The Z/28 has the best SBC in it ; excellent representation of the LT-1 (I won't mention the Holley 3 Bbl though...) .
    I wonder how the hybrid RS / full-bumper facia passed as 'stock' in the Stock classes ? Certainly , P/S was liberal with the requirements ; I just wonder about Stock & Super Stock ( Modified Production , not so much... for obvious reasons) ?

    I don't think I have any Camaros in my collection expect for that Craig Carter IMSA racer, something I'm sure will draw jeers and jokes from my local Camaro cult chapter but I like it. Build to your own heart's desire, I say!

      @dalegould6497 Před rokem

      Just a little side note. If you combine the two together,you can eliminate the turn signals completely for a custom look. This creation style can be made on the front of late 60's Chevrolet pickups,using the 1968 or later front fascia, and the surrounding grill area of the 1967 Chevrolet pickup. I saw a 1970-72 step-side in a car magazine once in the mid-70's.

      Tamiya has a new line of lacquers in the cylinder bottles. They have not gotten to North America yet. But Tamiya sent Andy's Hobby Headquarters a box of each color in that line. He used them in a video a few months ago when he build a new Tamiya Motorcycle. There are some really nice looking metallic colors that look just like and work the same as the Testor Metallizers line. We should have them by the end of the year. Check out his video.
