Lunch is safest, both breakfast and dinner are a little too personal (and usually more expensive for a first date), split the check or better yet, surprise him and YOU pay. YOU invited them out, YOU pay. Or if they invite you, YOU BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR OWN EXPENSES. Men aren't your personal wallet. Have fun, laugh, just enjoy each other's company and if it leads to romance and both of you are comfortable, go for it (safely).
