I think we need to talk about the definition of friend because you're implying that you're one or the other, that you're either friends or you're sleeping together and I think that's bullshit. You can be friends with someone you're attracted to, will that friendship be complicated, absolutely yes but which relationship isn't? The idea that men and women can't be friends implies that the only purpose we have for one another is physical, and I think that's really fucking sad, it implies that so many of us have had very few healthy relationship.

I think guy-girl friendships can work only if both parties are already in committed relationships. If they're single then hell no. If even one of them is single then no but especially not if they're both single.

Your sample size also sucks considering these all seem to be roughly the same demographic: white, cis, heterosexual, etc. This was also uploaded 12 years ago, back in 2012. These being uni students, that makes them all older Millennials, who would not have been exposed to the same breadth of perspectives and life stories as younger Millennials or the whole of Gen Z, due to the stage the internet and social media was at the time. They'd have needed to go out of their way to look these things up, and I highly doubt any of them bothered to do so, unless it was for a class.
