Friend, I've been in LE for over 35 yrs. I've shot 2 qualifications and 2 practices yearly. Do the math. FBI/Blackwater qual ranges. You, my friend, are fast! Humble and modest. Good shooting. Good video. Don't mind the naysayers. When I build my range, like you, I've had enough expertise training to where i can now enjoy shooting rather then freakin dreading it. Good on you!!!
@Pine Nut Move on Antifa, keep being a usefull idiot for the Marxist's
Great target & trap! Thanks for sharing not only the design but also the demonstration to prove it works. Well done!
Im so glad you are making videos more frequently again. You have a way of cutting through the BS and making informative videos. Very enjoyable.
Same situation. I think I will try to make one. Thanks for posting. Great video.
That trap is awesome Brandon great design especially for the first prototype.
Really enjoyed this video - great design, well-filmed, informative and overall quite watchable! Keep up the good work, you’ve got something going here....
Congrats on the very effective bullet trap build!
FWIW, I wouldn't be so cavalier about handling the lead fragments/dust. Stay safe!
This was exactly what I have been looking for as well. Very nice.
I love it. Smart design and build.
Great job! My dad build one similar when I was a about ten years old we used it a lot, collected our lead, molded our bullets, reloaded and shot again. I have no idea where it ended up, but I sure would like to have it today. Very nice video and thanks for sharing!!
I really want to build something like this. It beats the hell out of "mining the berm" like I do. I wanted to mention that the lead dust you get when emptying the trap and shaking the bucket is the most dangerous way to expose yourself to lead. If the pipe were open ended at the bottom and had a angled baffle where it could slowly drop the fragments and dust into a bucket of water you could reduce your exposure to that dust to almost nothing. As long as you didnt add that wet lead to already molten lead no issue there either.
And not to really sound like a safety sally (I hate them too), dogs love to watch you weld, but it causes them to go blind just like it would us. Keep that in mind.
Very impressed with your design. Never watched one of your videos before but looking forward to more. You are interesting plus loved the humor! When you started the timed shooting you taught me some great stuff to try and work on. Plus you had me laughing very hard at times. Great videos and like I said looking forward to more. Take Care and be safe!
Great job!! love the design! you have a marketable product there!
very clever design. you'll probably start getting requests to build those for other high volume shooters.
Right on. I have been thinking of something like what you have. GREAT WORK and Vid. Yer dog looks like a winner
Brandon,
I'm fine with the new name. I've been looking at your stuff for a couple years now, and I think it's GREAT.
Keep up the good work.
super slick design brandon looks great
That is a very impressive bullet trap. Nice job there.
Excellent idea! Keep up the great vids Brother!!
Wow. I didn't expect you to be able to draw and reload that fast. You seem like such a calm relaxed dude. Best of luck in the competitions. I hope you make POV GoPro videos when you do go out to competitions as I would really enjoy watching your growth in the sport.
Very well done, Brandon!
too awesome...son you have a new business venture there...if I had the cash I know I would buy one...great job!
What a great idea, looks nice and performs well too. I know you'll be topping the shooting sports before long. Congrats on all your success buddy!
That's an awesome trap Brandon! Hope you had a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
Peace, David
That's an awesome setup.
Super useful video that speaks to the absolute need to intelligently "cut-corners" so to speak where one can nowadays...American ingenuity, gotta love it--Definitely smart thinking that should translate into a trophy or two...Love the yellow Lab. Happy Holidays to All!
Very cool. I like how you just went at the project and figured it out on your own. Self reliance means loads in this world.
Nice set up Brandon. Happy New Year!
Dude that is awesome. I am definitely making this. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome job dude!
Great job on the trap!
love it. thank you very much for the information sir.
Awesome setup! Should pay for itself in no time.
Might have to make my own sometime.
My gosh that Apex trigger is like butter, definitely going to buy one now!
You done a fantastic job!!
U the man I am impressed good job
Awesome build and idea!
I love this video and I'd like to see more like it so I think you should make cool gun inventions on your channel more often
Nice idea and well made!
Nice video as usual. I miss Kentucky so I enjoy the back drop as well as the shooting:)
Very cool! Great design.
Damn, that's awesome!
Awsome work.
Looks great ... would you think it might work on a 30-06, mr-15, and other rifles? Or might the side plates need to be a bit thicker? Or you think it's more for a hand gun?
Excellent job bud.
The dog needs a welding mask. Great job! I just picked up the steel today I want to copy your exact design. Thanks for posting!
Wow!!! You did great on that trap!!!!!
Looking forward to that review of the flat faced apex trigger and how it compares to the curved apex trigger. Keep up the good work.
Just awesome. I want one!
Great video on your build. Can't wait for the review on the flat faced trigger from APEX.
Wow, nice job!!!
very nice build Brandon.
Great work!
I would love to see a comparison of TSJ vs FMJ on this bullet trap. If possible maybe even a high speed camera on the TSJ rounds in flight. Great Video and thanks for sharing!
great video!
me and my pops just watched and were heading out get materials to build our own monday!
Awesome design.
Great idea I am going to build one like this.
Where did you pick up that high standard and what was the price? I had my eye on one at a pawn shop as a gift for my grandfather, but it sold before I could pick it up.
Awesome trap, would like to see more of you and Kirsti shooting challenges
Awesome! Love your channel Brandon! Keep it up
Well done, NICE!!!
Great video as usual!
Great!
thanks for sharing!
Looks pretty good brother.

Apex is awesome. Not only do they make great triggers, but their customer service is unbeatable. I had a flat advanced trigger for my P320. After the P320 recall they took back the original trigger and sent the new replacement trigger 100% free no postage either way. All that for something that was absolutely not their fault.
what's the width and depth of the side pieces? I like how you added the 1x4 to staple the targets to. Very good design.
Very smart. Well done
Nice work!
Brandon What was the type / grade of metal used and do you think it would hold up to FMJ centerfire rifle? If not , any idea what metal would work?
Very nice. I've been considering building one of these. I have a sheet of AR500, 2' x 10'. Looks to me like your plates are about 24"x30" or so. Is that correct? Have you made any changes to your original design? After using it for several months, what do you think? Anything you would do differently? Is the pipe holding up to the abuse?
Thanks!
This is fantastic!!
Nice, very cool design, btw a humble shooter is always better than excuses, live seeing that
Nice work man. I was hoping to do the same thing not to save lead but more so to stop killing my trees lol. If possible could you give measurements and what angle you welded the plate in.
Nice work.
Nice looking old Ford at the top of the driveway. btw nice invention deVinci.
I like the idea of putting everything at angles so as to increase the thickness of metal in relation to the bullet's flight path. Same idea as armor on tanks. Someone did mention that it would be more like perfect if the angle of one of the sides continued past the other so as to make it impossible to hit the pipe in the middle. That way when you pump up your Sheridan more than 10 pumps, you don't send a pellet thru it.😉. Seriously though, best looking bullet trap I have seen! Great job. Don't breathe in that lead dust man!
Very nice. It would be interesting if you weigh the lead in the trap and compare it to what you shot so you can see how much you are losing. I bet you are retaining 90%+ of the lead though.
Do you have a full breakdown of the metal specs? AR400 3/8"? Is it possible for a hot pistol to penetrate the pipe if you do not hit the ar400 first?
Great idea for saving lead for recasting. Only one improvement I could think of besides the "tip off bottom" mentioned by the welder guy, was that one plate should be longer than the other so no shots could go directly into the pipe. With a slight overlap but still a space between, the shots will always hit plate even though the pipe is pretty tough. The overlap with a space will also guarantee that no lead will ever bounce back or out of the device, though it would still be rare with your design. Good luck and keep shootin'.
Very nice bullet trap! Great demonstration!
Karl Hansson ---- same here too! the sound of gun fire brings bak my shooting days memories. well done.
Great Job!
ballsy shooting those slugs!
great target man.
Very good. but what is the thickness of the plate you used on the side ramp. ? you also have the dimensions.?
I found very interesting. I would like to make one for myself. thank you and congratulations.
Well done target trap and cool new name.
Love the bullet catch thingamajig! And, love your channel name!! GUN-TIME with Brandon!! Im a geezer Brandon, the name you chose works great! Gun time. Tells us what you do. What we like to see. You spending time with guns. Me watching.
Great idea!
i love it.. i wanna build one now.
Very nice. Great build for the savings.
Hello Brandon. I really like this trap. Do you think it will work for 5.56 or some high velocity .30 caliber like 30-06, 300win mag or 7mm?
Thats a well made target trap for sure I might be able to hit that one lol
Great video. I like your design but I have a question. Why did you leave the top and bottom of your "funnel" open instead of closing it in with two more pieces of plate? I can see where shooting outside as you are doing it doesn't matter much but if the trap were set up inside a well ventilated space, wouldn't it be better to close the top and bottom? Thoughts from anyone would be appreciated.
That's really cool. Do you use cast bullets in competition?
what size plates did you use? and do you have any plans possibly to build my own? and whats the biggest caliber it can handle?
Awesome job thanks
Genius!!
Very cool man!
good job,,, neat design
let's go brandon!
I'm really curious where you found the steel plate so cheap. i'm looking at AR400 & 500 and it's crazy expensive, a 2' x 2' 3/8" is $300 - 450 depending on where you order.
I didn't realize you started making videos again; welcome back... if that applies. :)
I need to make a bullet trap myself. I hope it works good for you!
Great trap!
