      I would never put copper in a van. The van flexes, moves, get's jolted etc. which means the copper will work harden and crack. I never hard wire my plumbing either in boats or vans. It's just asking for trouble.

    looks great Mel! regarding the rattles, I suffered the same i finally built a shallow wooden lid (to match the interior) and added soft foam on the inside of the lid. this cushioned the hob bits and it also doubled as a "work surface/prep area" when the hob was nor in operation. Also it was a add hock tray if needed! .... just a thought

      Mel’s Van World you cannot use flexible hose on a permanently fitted appliance. You can only use the orange hose on portable equipment. That company should not be supplying that hose with that cooker it’s against current EU regulations.

      @@BigVanSmallWorld tbh Mel, they save space, and they come with all the rubber coared gas pipe, so all piping is ran underneath and pops thru at the appliance. However, they arent cheap, about £400, on the upside, they come with everything, recessed filler box and all pipe work/maniflod and even pipe clips with tek screws. They are worth it if budgets stretch that far. Oh, and comes with digital lvl indicator and cable.

    HELP NEEDED !!
    Hello Mel. Or Anyone who can help .!!
    I can't work out how you got a pilot light to fire on this unit, when its a 240v plug? - did you use an extension cable ? - Where you able to rewire it to go off your 12v system ? - Or did it just work from pure voodoo alone? - I would be so grateful if anyone knew the answer to this. Thanks in advance !

    That's a smart looking hob - I just wonder whether you will need the 240v supply to enable the flame failure feature , or is there a 12 v option on the it ?

    Hi Mel … looking at installing this gas cooktop in my van. Like you, I won’t have 240v power in the van. I assume the gas ignition does not require 240v to work. What does the 240v operate. Regards Gino from Australia

    • @flbeachinggirl
      @flbeachinggirl Před 4 lety +1

      @@BigVanSmallWorld maybe you could hack up a piece of wood with a pipe, like your table. Drill a hole in the top end of your counter to the right of cook-top and put in a swivel work surface tier. Something you could plug up when not in use and store the extension some place or swivel tier over cook-top when not in use. Maybe a wood plug with a tiny knob to pluck it out if needed to cover the hole. Options! I guess you could use hidden magnets to keep your plug in place☺️ Or you’ll have to build hinged extension out over those switches when you enter, but it’ll get in your way too much.
