    Thank you sooooo much!! I've been searching for ever to find an instructional video on gas fitting. I'd almost given up then found your video. So clear, so concise. It's so much easier than I thought. And I love the soap and water trick. Gratitude from the UK.

    Great vid, just bought a similar stove. When using teflon tape always tape it clockwise (looking at the hole). If you do it the other way around then you basically untape it when you screw whatever you taped into something. This is in part the reason you had leaks on your first try.
    Also a nice tip is to tape it so that the outside face of the tape is on the inside of what you are taping, this just makes it a lot easier to unroll the tape fast with no mess.
    Another tip is use a lot of tape
    Had problems with this stuff before, thats how I know haha

      @@Sunridetribe6 Thanks for a great video! Can you please tell me, you're two years in with this stove, would you buy it again? I'm making my purchase this week just wondering if you'd recommend this after having a chance to use it a while. Is the stainless steel surface a good quality such that it cleans up well? I just can't tolerate it when it gets stained and won't clean up 100 percent. Thank you for anything further you can share.

      @Sunridetribe6  Před 2 lety

      Hello Sheri! Yes, we would would it again. The stainless steal surface cleans pretty well. The hardest part is around the base of the burners, but if you clean them often they will be almost as good as new. As for the cooking, it preforms very well! If you would like, we could do a review on it.

      @@Sunridetribe6 Thank you so much for replying, and so quickly! A review would be nice if there are tips you can share or if it is much different than cooking on a household flame burner. But I think I''ll go ahead and purchase it now, based on your video and one other that I saw that showed the ease of installation- so for my purposes another video isn't necessary for me to make my purchasing decision. Thank you for offering to do another video- I'll certainly be watching it if you do decide to do another on actually using this cooktop! Happy & safe travels to you!

      @@Sunridetribe6 so I installed it and it looks great ! I just need some sort of fireproof back splash ha ha i was also wondering if you turn your regulator all the way on ?because when I do the flame is huge and started to have fire roll over on my countertop haha I'm trying to use the 1 pound green bottles and its just not working for me 😔 is there a difference from using the 1 pound bottles ???

    • @Sunridetribe6
      @Sunridetribe6  Před 4 lety +1

      Oh no! We definitely don't turn it on all the way....in fact we barely turn the knob. Same thing happened to us! You can also adjust the flame via the stove itself under the knobs but you need a very small flathead that's long enough to reach. We didn't adjust ours we just adjust the regulator. Glad it looks great!!

    Given that the propane adapter and stove inlet is right-hand threaded, I was taught to wrap the pipe tape IN the direction of the thread, so that you would strain it in the direction of the twist when threading the adapter. For What It's Worth, and it seemed to work the way you did it, anyhow... ;-)

    • @Sunridetribe6
      @Sunridetribe6  Před 4 lety

      Robert Donnelly, yes we think that was also the initial problem with the leaks! When we had to take it apart and redo it it went the right direction. An important tip to include! Thanks for watching!

    I'm a little confused about the 2 stage propane regulator you mentioned. Every one of them I see on Amazon it says that it's purpose is to connect to two tanks. Not two appliances. After some amount of googling I came across something called a propane splitter, which IS designed for two appliances. I'm guessing that if I got the splitter I would still need a regulator as well?

    Hi, I have had this cooktop for almost 8 months now and have been trying to find a tutorial for a safe install and use in our promoter van. Yours is the best one I have found so far I and I have been looking :) You mentioned that this cooktop is used by a van build company. Is your installation also based on their installation? I wasn't crazy about the propane locker idea and love your idea of driving the propane "leak" out by using a tube/pipe clamped to the valve . Was this also a recommendation from the van build company? I am concerned about propane leaking not from fittings but from the valve (normal occurrence which can happen). Thank you for responding ! Valerie

    • @Sunridetribe6
      @Sunridetribe6  Před 3 lety

      Hi there, we're glad you found the video helpful! Nothing done in our van is based on any one design, just information we have gathered from various sources! We don't even know the name of the company it was a random comment we found during our research on an Amazon review. The valve tube was another idea we saw someone else do somewhere on the Internet! So far we haven't had any issues with leaks and everything is working great. Happy building!!

    I have the same regulator as you have and a Empava brand 2 burner cook top .I,m confused about the delete of regulator valve that came with stove.Is that regulator on stove end junk?On mine it acts like getting to little propane, very low flame and can't run both burners at same time. Should I just remove my regulator from stove end and just manually adjust propane delivery? It wouldn't even make 5 cups of water in percolate coffee pot start to percolate. And also flame wouldn't change when turning knob high to low,the adjustment screws on control knobs also had little affect? You would get a puff of good flame at start up for a half of a second. Your brand is different but plumbing and burner looks exactly the same as mine. I also kept wondering if tank was in limp mode but yet same tank worked fine on my Honda generator

      Honestly we aren't sure! We have a similar connector for the 1# bottles we used on our old stove but have not tried to hook it up to this one. We picked it up at REI a long time ago but see they no longer sell them. Maybe at a BBQ shop?

    The cooktop is real nice but you should not store the tank inside you van...check your insurance policy...locate the porpane tank on the back bumper for safety. The 1st time you change or refil the tank you will understand why.

    • @Sunridetribe6
      @Sunridetribe6  Před 2 lety

    Still recommend the Ramblewood? The regulator hose is out of stock and can't find any other solutions. Do you know of any?

    • @Sunridetribe6
      @Sunridetribe6  Před 2 lety

      We do!! We've had zero issues with it other than needing to adjust the output at the burners for elevation but that's an easy thing to do. We haven't even had any of the rattle problems others complain about!
      We don't have any specific suggestions on the hose but any high pressure propane hose with the 1/2" fitting should work. Look specifically for outdoor firepit hose!
