@@CleberHarrisonGuitar Technology is improving day by day. Many of the things they have done with the new Peter Jackson film Get Back were not possible as little as two years ago, so it is becoming ever more possible that we will be able to hear this with amazing clarity someday in the near future.

I really love The Searchers version of this, yet even though this is poor quality recording, it still manages to blow it away, especially John Lennon's voice, and he was a mere 21 years old at the time.
John really loved Arthur Alexander's music. He sung Soldier of Love Anna go to him and this one. Just like George loved Joe Brown's country style (Sheik of Araby and A picture of you)

All their music makes you smile whether early music or music polished in a studio. I would have loved to be at a club listening before they became famous to be up close and enjoying the music.
Its probably the thought that you can never see them live and can't go back to that time when they performed, it is for me at least, and its just a shame that that time is gone. Thankfully the sound of it is saved here though and in the Hamburg recording you can almost sense the electric in the air whilst they performed because of how raw it is, but its also such poor quality
I had a terrible time listening to the Beatles after John Lennon was murdered in 1980 ( I was 30). It took me a lot of years, but now I just love hearing them. They were a huge part of my teenage years. I was 13 when they "Invaded America". .... All that great music of the 1960s, I feel so lucky to have been alive then.

George's solo cuts in where the second verse should be, and then repeats. Here, it sounds exactly like a full unedited version of that recording. Is it? I had the star club album, really bad quality, I was young and preferred to listen to one of their classic albums. I didn't realize the historic importance of it. Surely when they were doing the Anthology CDs, they could have cleaned up some tracks, like they did with That'll be the day, and In Spite of all the danger. If not, surely, they have the technology to clean up these tapes to a quality that would be worth buying. So historic. The Star Club performance.

To me this beautiful cover make me particularly sad for John 😔, to think he was 22 years old and 18 years later he will be murdered.
