Europe needs to step up and properly support Ukraine's effort to defend themselves.
You're first😁
I know a country doesn’t want to commit to sending soldiers to fight … but democratic countries must send armaments to allow Ukraine to fight for their freedom …. but actually time is wasting … if Europe doesn’t want Putin at its door , they better see him off now!
Fly to Poland. You can connect from there.

I'm from Australia my wife is from Kherson we had to leave our house in kherson back in march 2022 with our 1 year old daughter we are now living in poland hope to go back to Kherson. Im just thankfull to be quite wealthy as not everyone can just leave. I did not need refugee support or housing. Rented my own apartment in poland
I wish you the very best of luck
I am an Australian in Ukraine, I live in the western part. Don’t fear
I wonder if our paths crossed. I was on the trains from Przemysl to Kyiv in late June of 2022 and observed the refugee center in Przemysl, Poland in mid May of 2022. I hope I gave you a smile and encouragement. I have met other Ukrainians who left and some who have returned. Wish you well. I've been to Warszawa a few times, Krakow, Lublin, Rzeszów and many other smaller towns and villages.
Serious question. Will you move bk if Russia annex and peace treaty agreed?
@@333Mrhunter I will not live under Russian administration
Most of the CZcams interviews are from intellectuals who understand the situation, but have not been directly involved, It is amazing to have the situation reported by a man, who is out there day after day. Wishing him and the Ukrainians a far better life in the near future.
Excellent guest 👌
Good to hear from someone who has been there and can report as it is.
What an excellent guest, may Paul and his family and friends be kept safe ❤
A picture without captions... Good man. My hat is off to him for his vision and his courage. And to his brilliant interlocutor.
Yes, she's nice, isn't she? 😉
This was fantastic, what a lovely man. Thank you Kate.
Amazing human being!
A superb interview, thank you both. I'm in tears - will the collective West REALLY allow Ukraine to be totally destroyed and over run? Shame on them all - the ones who like to think they are the leaders - for their tardy responses. Some hope is regained through the smaller countries, who understood from day one what Ukraine was truly facing and how they're stepping up now. Will it be too late?
Yes. But don't worry too much Ukraine will continue as a separate although slightly smaller state.
Russia will never quail the spirt of ukraines, and I beleave in what president Dudayev said if you haven't seen it please look it up ,Dudayev was the chechnyia leader before the trator kadyrov,.Its like Dudayev knew what was going to happen between ukraine and russia back in 1996 he did a video before he was assassinated by the Russians
@@dnik1260was that when Putin infiltrated his little green men into the province?
Ukrainians are fighting on both sides.
Why are you in tears?
Do you live in the Ukraine?
Do you have friends or relatives living in the Ukraine?
Did you know where the Ukraine was before February 24th 2022?
My friends are from Kherson, they were occupied and are now refugees. I had visits there, it is the only city in Ukraine i knew well. The pre-war city was a lovely and laid back mix, old Miami, old Vienna, a Soviet port. There were always ferrel dog packs, students in naval uniforms at the academy. It was lovely and far from Europe, un self-conscious. There was a boy, a barista learning English who would wait for me to come to breakfast to ask me about America. I could not believe the heroism of the Khersonsi, with the Maidan, with the invasion. The occupation took me by the throat, all the way here in California. Some of us will go to lobby Congress next week. It is still such a hard time.
Thank you for going and being seen that American people in general aren't happy with congress and I do beleave that's people from both sides of the house ,and many republican who don't want to be associated with maga 👍💯%
Thank you for your effort
Tell congress that Ukrainian children will be writing letters very soon with photos to the districts of the Republican Party that is holding up aid. To churches , citizens and media
I appreciate your comment. Speaker Johnson has said he'd put the $60 Billion Ukraine Aid Package on the floor. My representative Gwen Moore is a democrat in Milwaukee and I believe she is in support of the bill. I have sent her many emails asking her to support not only the Ukrainian Aid Package but also Michael Johnson should he put the package on the floor and should MTG then give notice of her motion to discharge Speaker Johnson. if he knows the dems will support him he is more likely to do the right thing.
Do everything you can to get the remaining signatures on the discharge petition #9. Ukraine needs that funding.
Right now, America's reputation is trash. You have given Ukraine so many assurances over the years and now have left them to the wolves. Just shameful. Your allies are wondering what America is now.
The 1st interview I have seen recently, that is 1st hand ,and truthful. What an incredible commentary and interrogation.
Thank you both Kate & guest

I loved the fact Kate recognised the Gallows Humour. Par of the course in the military community. Better to laugh than despair in the face of adversity.
I just wanted to cry listening to this . I do hope that the result of his work is a series, so that the edit isn’t as significant. We need to see it all. There is such a disconnect between what is happening and how so many in the West are ignorant.
They are making a Documentary Movie about their time in Kherson...I have seen the Movie Trailor and its brilliant....

Lovely Kate - as amazing as ever!
The horrors that Russia has brought to Ukraine are so difficult to listen to. How can the West just stand by, in 2024, while such atrocities and war crimes are being committed by Russia?
there's a history in Europe on watching atrocities occur on the continent. this is not new
What do you think the west should do bring solders it would be catastrophic no one wants to trigger world war 3 I on the other hand don't think Ukraine's front lines is strong enough to push back the Russians in there border only the Russians need to choose from whiting if they want to fight Putin's war or overthrow him it's up to the Russians

Also, let us never forget Poland. Polands support for Ukraine has been the most important, even more than that of the US and thats not on a per capita basis. Taking the refugees, the logistics help, sending volumes of equipment early and often when the war broke out, etc, etc.
Paul is the most riveting story teller, his pathos and humor had me glued to the screen. My thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and the upcoming US elections for a Biden victory. Slava Ukraini.

This is one amazing man. Thank you for this interview. I just checked. There aren't any railway ticket to Kherson, Oleksandrivka or Antonivka and likely other towns along the way. I'd want to go there too. Got to drive and these photo journalists have the required transportation in and out. My photos of Irpin from May 31 2022, likely aren't anything like this gentleman's. But photographers got to stick together regardless of their expertise. Much, much respect for this journalists. Ukrainian soldiers and President Zelenski are so, so amazing that the world should act to help defeat the russians. People in America who are putin loving such as any of the few United States elected government officials should be impeached and shamed, including U.S. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin. It has been reported that Speaker Michael Johnson will put the $60 Billion Ukrainian Aid package on the floor of the House of Representatives next week (April 8, 2024) As a lawyer, I would care to work with those solving criminal acts by russians and to document in English these terrible acts so the world knows about them and so the world remembers and condemns them. I've been to Ukraine in June of 2022, July of 2023, and January of 2024. I've travelled to Warszawa to deliver generators to Ukrainian volunteers who delivered in a chain of transportation to Bakhmut. I'll be returning in June of this year, 2023.

What a fantastic interview with this extraordinary man. His empathy, humanity, courage and determination to tell the story of what the Russians are doing is amazing. You know, unlike other Times Radio interviews with 'experts' who are garbage, I liked this one. Paul is not pushing an agenda, he is telling a personal story, from his personal perspective. I think that is good. Even though I believe that he is only telling one half of the story, at least his half is not loaded with propaganda - quite refreshing!
Out of all times media Katie is the best .

i found Pauls interview to be informative graphic and yet humorous at times a vast contrast to the b...shit...g politicians!. we in the west must do more for these brave ukrainian people in their hour of need. Paul describes a phenomenon that many Russian writers including Solzhenitsyn also experienced.
Solzhenitsyn describes how in the Soviet Gulags he found himself among a group of amazing characters , poets, artists, musicians, mathematicians, intellectuals..all victims of Stalins State Forces ..all huddled together in brutal conditions. KHERSON is now such a chapter in russian and Ukrainian History and the people involved will be written about for a long time .

@@dalecrocker3213oh yes it is ,and it's devaluing almost as fast as djt stocks are 😊
@@ruthwhall3020 Nonsense. The rouble is strengthening as measures are taken to counteract sanctions etc. It's value has risen sharply in the past three months.
It must also be remembered that its value against the value of the dollar is one that is cited, and the dollar is now in a very vulnerable position with a major crash expected before very long.
@@JuliusFawcett So what? What criteria are used? Considering he immense pressure it has been put under the rouble has shown remarkable resilience.
It is the dollar which is overstretched and which many economists believe is due for a major collapse, removing it from its position as the currency against which the value of other currencies are measured.

I am curious about the attitude of locals (e.g., the Babushkas) towards collaborators. Is there someone or someplace to turn them in? Especially if the collaborators are making the

They can be reported and turned in. Then the Ukraine intelligence services investigate, and if there is evidence (normally it’s the online chats with the russian agents, exchanges of money, or they get caught taking pictures of the military locations) then they get arrested and later put on trial

If I could force Trump to watch just one documentary, this would be the it!!……
This gentleman makes some interesting points but he is a traumatized person from his Syrian horrors and this can make all sorts of people into conflict addicts.
The stories about people staying put could be defiance or because the Kiev regime at no point AT ALL had evacuation plans in place for any city, town or village. Indeed, with days of being elected, Zelenskyy decommissioned the already cash starved Civil Defense Corps (Kharkiv paid its own from local revenues but many were forcibly recruited into the UAF and spread to different skirmish fronts thus wasting cohesion).
It is natural to feel connected to people met every day but a journalist's job is report on facts, while possibly creating a portfolio or documentary as well. The problem is that lines become blurred.
I question the utility and balance of this piece in which an interviewer from a Russophobe web resource interviews another media person. Why not instead send your best qualified and experienced staff to talk to civilians in Kherson city and its environs?
Then again, is there any point when TR's owners lack objectivity.

Is it just me who cringes at every drop of "full-scale invasion"? It is like all these people got a memo: "You have to call this a full-scale invasion, this is the official term".
It is just you. We’ve had a war since 2014 but it was regional, since 2022 it is full scale as in the whole country is involved. Stop with the conspiracy theories, they’re cringeworthy
Because the war started in 2014 when the first russian invasion happened, so full-scale is used to specify.
@@alenakrav Oh, right. To me a full-scale invasion sounds more like "Russia threw everything it had at Ukraine". I guess it is a matter of interpretation. Never mind.
@@libertarianbydefaultWell Russia did throw everything it had at Ukraine and continues to do so daily 🤷🏻♀️
@@alenakrav That is not quite true. The USSR threw everything it had at Germany during the WW2, for example. In Ukraine Russia has deployed a (relatively) limited contingent and is using the resources and force required to advance but not to overextend, both in manpower and resources. You could see that in 2022 - the initial force was enough to do what Russia wanted - to compel Ukraine to negotiations. When Ukraine had eventually been led to choose to fight instead of negotiate, Russia withdrew (2nd half of 2022 - and that was a moment of over-extension!), halted Ukrainian progress, increased its own force and started to gradually, yet inexorably push the front line.
Anyway, I am not sure if this discussion is important or not, tbh. :D If the nukes start flying, then one could say Russia is throwing everything it has got. I will say however that is is quite obviously true that Ukraine is being subjected to massive bombardment, drone attacks and such, no objection there. There can and will be more if the need for it arises. I am not saying this because I am in such an awe of the Russian war machine, no. I am just looking objectively at their economy, industrial capacity, reserves - there is A LOT of room for escalation. I hope it does not get to that and the whole thing ends sooner rather than later.
Does Russia care about Kherson? Its forces are advancing steadily towards the Donbass border, which has always been the main military objective.
No, they don't care, other than they want to take the city.
