Minecraft Dungeons is real good, Cinematics of it and story is actually great. Though game might get bored when playing 2 days non-stop so I might just play it for 3 hours
My personal take on Minecraft Dungeons is that it’s fun if you play with friends and only if you play with friends. If you do so the game is very fun, and the character designs are pretty cool, but just playing the game on your own can be quite boring. I like the game, just not enough for it to be really important to me.
If you treat it as a dungeon crawler with a Minecraft theme, you'll have large crowds of enemies to beat up, gimmicks which cut away half your Health or outright kill you, a Midboss which hits hard, restricts movement with a mine field, then forces you into the minefield anyways, Bosses which hit so hard tanking them is out of the question, enemies which occasionally gain damage reflectors, rendering your build mostly useless, *suicide enemies with immunity to half your non-Artifact damage,* and... ...Okay, I see your point. Huh.
I don't think is really mediocre bc the game doesn't feel like they didn't care and went super generic and they continue caring for the game. Also for what I see the DLCs are basically there to get the true depth of the game. Is like the cool game a family member bought u when u were kid and u enjoy it when it was new but then never played again.
You don't HAVE to destroy your weapon to get your enchantments back, you can just give it to the blacksmith to upgrade your gear and get your enchantments back
I literally spent my time getting all the achievements in this game, all I can remember was watching Dragon Ball while playing simultaneously because I didnt have to pay attention even on harder difficulties. It isnt really bad just so boring and uninspired
I've seen that they've added many new updates and DLC but I havent played the game since I got the platinum which was probably June of last year and frankly I'm not really itching to go back

I just don’t think he can enjoy our dungeon crawlers like most people. I feel like the game is highly underrated, but really it only clicks with a selected few.
All the reviews I saw of this game were saying basically the same thing: "It's a game... so average it's not bad but there's nothing that makes it good either." It's like just a game for being a game there's nothing to it. A perfectly clean definition of a 6/10 game.
For me the two things that Dungeons got wrong were the Dungeons themselves, and the story/lore The level design is just so bland for most of these “dungeons.” I’m one of those people who like to explore every part on the map to see if there’s any loot but too many times in this game some of the rooms are completely EMPTY except for some mobs and sometimes if the game is generous a chest with some lame loot. And there’s just not enough going on in some of these levels besides a few gimmicks like piston bounce pads and pillars that spit fire in 4 directions when you activate them to name some of the more memorable gimmicks (The Fire pillars were incorporated really well into the level though I’ll give them that.) I wasn’t expecting much but at least have some degree of Zelda dungeon design yeah? How about getting a new key item every dungeon that you need to progress like a torch that burns leaves blocking your path and can light up lanterns or a Redstone Block that powers contraptions when you place it. These *special* items could be mapped to the same spots you use the firework rocket and stuff and carrying them with you could access certain areas that could only be accessed by using the right item. They could take this a step further and have something like the burnable leaves in earlier levels that aren’t accessible then but once you get that torch you can burn them down and *WOAH!* you just unlocked a whole new area! This incentivizes *simple* backtracking that makes returning to old levels much more refreshing and rewarding!! I mean this is the best selling videos game series of all time right? You’re telling me they couldn’t come up with stuff like this in the level design room *sigh* This game was also the chance to really delve into the world of Minecraft and explore the history and lore of Illagers & More with curtain landscapes and *simple* world building. But did we get any of that? Hardly! Besides those two things this could’ve easily been the best Minecraft experience Microsoft had to offer, but they just settled to do the most basic video game experience out there. So, oh bother :P
They did do that to some extent with the conduit in the hidden depths DLC but definitely agree that they should do something like this to make older and newer levels interesting to backtrack in. Regarding lore, Dungeons does do quite alot in adding to world of MC it's just hidden within certain item descriptions and environment of levels, Mojang want people to piece together the lore of the world and come up with they're own conclusions based on what they gathered.
I like Minecraft Dungeons almost more than regular Minecraft. The dungeons are cool and immersive. The lore is pretty cool too. DLC also makes this game a way better experience.
The asthetic is 10/10, the prologue is good, the action feels statisfying, but there are no puzzle, with no mine and crafting, it's just dungeons not minecraft

i found that trying to unlock all the difficulties was a good incentive to keep playing, especially the apocalypse+ ones. they don't just add to the health and damage of mobs, they also increase their speed and stagger resistance, and of course they make enchanted mobs more common. you do make some good points though, the game's not exactly the best thing out there. the combat can be quite boring for some people even though i usually find it very engaging, the exploration is often mediocre, even with the adventure and apocalypse difficulty modes it's quite short, not to mention the fact those modes don't really fundamentally change the levels in any way so you're still playing through roughly the same ones every time, most of the dlc levels are painfully long, and the game doesn't exactly bring anything new to the table. i just enjoy it because the combat is fun and the exploration is more than passable in my eyes. plus the price is good, it's actually the first game i ever got dlc for, i was adamantly against paid dlc before playing the game, and i still somewhat am.
The Thing with Minecraft Dungeons is that it's really fun first on Apocalypse mode. It's not easy anymore, the enemies get more, you can make way more fun and experimental builds because you have more Skillpoints, you can Play (at least now) all the DLC's, ancient hunts and the Tower if you get bored from the normal story and the same levels over and over again. Aaaand when you play it with friends it's way more fun than alone (that's why I hate that the Tower isn't co-op)
Had fun with this game even after reading the book made it seem like a better experience to me. I most of all had played it because of enter the gungeon and mana spark since they are being bot dungeon crawlers and just go in the genre.
As someone that sometimes plays the game time to time, I do agree the story is not that great, and the keyboard and mouse is the worst control style, so that is why I use the controller. Also yes the difficulty system in the game is terrible. The parts I do like in this game is the lore it adds to Minecraft in general like the new mobs, the history for example the lost ages and the age of darkness, the weapons and how they are used in the world, and how they can give some new ideas to biomes. The end DLC was the most fun part in dungeons, there was so much new items, blocks, and mobs in the pack that it felt fresh, and it even added liquids and a new look to the stronghold. I do believe dungeons is a good game, and might even be the best spin off of Minecraft as of right now, but it does have a lot of problems with it.
I love the game. The backgrounds and colors really set the theme from purple in the void to blue in the hidden depths. I think it’s underrated. I’m just glad that the only weapons aren’t the sword, bow, and axe (I play on Xbox so no mods.) Overall to me I’ll give it a 8 out of 10.

Instead of ENdeRmAn lOL it should be at least something more, to add a bit of spice to the core gameplay loop. do this and the game would be a lot more fun

Second, the largest part of the crafting system is not covered by any of the merchants. In my experience playing the game, you would almost never get what you wanted from a merchant. If there was a crafting system, you wouldn't have to rely on luck to get an item you want. The existing items might still be more powerful (sort of a risk and reward typee thing) but crafting would definitely improve the gameplay experience. third, I don't really think this would resolve the problem. Even if you were able to reroll enchantments, It would still be a grind to get any sort of real synergy going between the huge number of enchants there are. I think making it so that every slot had a maximum of 8 (instead of 3) would be a great change. I doubt that they would be any more fun, but either way it doesn't really matter if I have to grind through the entire main story to get to any of the good parts, which I have to pay for separately.

The fact that dungeon crawlers from the early 2000's had better stories (coughs in mystery dungeon) are wild as if MCD had a story. Graphics are really neat though. but without the atmosphere maxed out and a good story it's pretty forgettable sadly.
The game didn't even come with cloud saving at release. I finished the main story on my previous pc, and when I got my new pc expecting to play the new dlc with my friends, all my progress was gone so we just didn't end up playing and forgot the game existed until this video came up.
I really like the game, even playing solo. I guess I just find tearing down hoards of mobs with my party of one human and a handful of summons satisfying.
For the first few days of playing this game was fun. I brunt through the DLCs and stuff pretty quickly and kinda just felt bored afterwards. Minecraft dungeons was really fun because I had the bright idea to crank up the difficulty to the maximum on every level and that might be why I had a better general experience. Overall it’s just ok, nothing to write home about. Just, Diablo in Minecraft. But couch multiplayer with this game is fun
After having recently picked up and played this game personally. I actually think this game is actually fairly underrated as just a game. I wasn't expecting to recieve some fucking triple A game when I went into this game. I played it like a game you'd find in an arcade and was just happy to run around in a pretty world and kill shit. I really liked the enchantment feature too since it helps make items that are not exactly god tier feel way better then they normally woukd have had the feature not been there. I actually really like how the game actively WANTS me to change my loadout on the fly. It makes the game feel way less monotonous to me since how you play is constantly changing due to your loudout changing so often. It makes me actually want to actively use other items. As a casual experience I think Minecraft Dungeons is actually pretty good. It's a fun game to just put on and turn off your brain to, again in my opinion. Btw the whole level replaying aspect of the game is literally just a part of this genre of game it is what it is.
I have an Arch-Illigar plush on a desk in my room. He looks cute but so deadly. Edit: This game is like Terraria. It’s really fun when you play the game all the way from the beginning again.
I like Minecraft Dungeons, mainly because I played the Game fundamentally differently than Danerade. While Danerade tried to 100% it right of the bat, I just kinda went from level to level, until I reached the end. I'm not bashing Danerades playing style here; I see that the developers overlooked that, that playing style made the Game way to easy; What im saying is, that for a player like me, the game never felt boring, because I never really replayed the levels a lot. Another thing I find important to mention are the DLC, which have a staggering jump in quality for some reason. Take the Hidden Depths DLC for example; This DLC has so many new cool ideas and mechanics, which take advantage of its water setting, that its almost like a new game entirely (in a good way). The "100% overpowered difficulty ploblem" is also fixed in the late-game, with it having unlimited difficulties to choose from, thus never taking away the opportunity to challenge yourself. Overall, I agree with a lot of Danerades points though.
ive only played the arcade version and somehow it sounds more fun, especially playing with friends, in a short span of time instead of a 5 hour playthrough
I like it. I only like it a little bit, but I definitely like it. Of course, I like it more than just a little bit when playing multiplayer. But in singleplayer, yeah, I only kind of like it.
It’s one of those games you have fun with for 3 days then regret buying it and get all sad and stuff so you make yourself play it to feel better but then you get bored and forget about it. 👍

The fact that dungeon crawlers from the early 2000's had better stories (coughs in mystery dungeon) are wild as if MCD had a story. Graphics are really neat though. but without the atmosphere maxed out and a good story it's pretty forgettable sadly.

minecraft dungeons is that game that you play non stop for a week straight and then stop, then repeat some months later
The game didn't even come with cloud saving at release. I finished the main story on my previous pc, and when I got my new pc expecting to play the new dlc with my friends, all my progress was gone so we just didn't end up playing and forgot the game existed until this video came up.

I really like the game, even playing solo. I guess I just find tearing down hoards of mobs with my party of one human and a handful of summons satisfying.
Whenever I think of Minecraft Dungeons beyond just playing it, I just wish the mobs exclusive to it would be added to base game Minecraft.

For the first few days of playing this game was fun. I brunt through the DLCs and stuff pretty quickly and kinda just felt bored afterwards. Minecraft dungeons was really fun because I had the bright idea to crank up the difficulty to the maximum on every level and that might be why I had a better general experience. Overall it’s just ok, nothing to write home about. Just, Diablo in Minecraft. But couch multiplayer with this game is fun

I got this game for free and played with two friends. We got bored to hell within first couple hours. Never came back to it and I don't think I will.
After having recently picked up and played this game personally. I actually think this game is actually fairly underrated as just a game. I wasn't expecting to recieve some fucking triple A game when I went into this game. I played it like a game you'd find in an arcade and was just happy to run around in a pretty world and kill shit. I really liked the enchantment feature too since it helps make items that are not exactly god tier feel way better then they normally woukd have had the feature not been there. I actually really like how the game actively WANTS me to change my loadout on the fly. It makes the game feel way less monotonous to me since how you play is constantly changing due to your loudout changing so often. It makes me actually want to actively use other items.
As a casual experience I think Minecraft Dungeons is actually pretty good. It's a fun game to just put on and turn off your brain to, again in my opinion. Btw the whole level replaying aspect of the game is literally just a part of this genre of game it is what it is.

Well i like this game, I understand that it's not perfect and i havent touched it from release but i had fun with it
I like Minecraft Dungeons, mainly because I played the Game fundamentally differently than Danerade. While Danerade tried to 100% it right of the bat, I just kinda went from level to level, until I reached the end. I'm not bashing Danerades playing style here; I see that the developers overlooked that, that playing style made the Game way to easy; What im saying is, that for a player like me, the game never felt boring, because I never really replayed the levels a lot. Another thing I find important to mention are the DLC, which have a staggering jump in quality for some reason. Take the Hidden Depths DLC for example; This DLC has so many new cool ideas and mechanics, which take advantage of its water setting, that its almost like a new game entirely (in a good way). The "100% overpowered difficulty ploblem" is also fixed in the late-game, with it having unlimited difficulties to choose from, thus never taking away the opportunity to challenge yourself. Overall, I agree with a lot of Danerades points though.

It’s one of those games you have fun with for 3 days then regret buying it and get all sad and stuff so you make yourself play it to feel better but then you get bored and forget about it. 👍
