In my men’s league last year an older guy from the UK had the original R9 mercurials on his feet. They were in decent condition and could probably still fetch a pretty good amount if he were to sell them. Astounded he’d play in such valuable cleats I asked him if he knew what they were. He looked at me and said:
“yeah, football boots”

"Footballs are there to be used." Couldn't agree more. Was in Germany, in '06. Bought the regular ball, with the opening match details printed on it. brought it back to the States and played with it as soon as I got back. So many people thought I was insane, because it was going to be worth so much money down the road
100%. I had a Jabulani for a couple years, it was actually a blast to bring out to pick-up matches just for the sheer fun of people trying to make it do crazy stuff. Lasted about 2 years before some clown stole it out of my bag.
Mad props for using all of these items, as you said, they’re meant to be played with, not stored 💪💪💪

Just discovered a couple months ago I still got that Joga Bonito ball from back in the day, but that was after I copped the new AirLock Street X retro 😅 interesting vid still 👌🏾 might keep my eyes peeled for Elastico's in the OG colourway

I had a pair of the 1998 R9's, they ripped on the toe after 5 games, I was absolutely gutted. A few times over the years i've tried to pick them up again but i just warrant the price as a non collector.

Crazy when i used to freestyle back in the 2000s we used to use nothing but match balls, a few of us had the Teamgiast. We loved the feel of it. it was even rare back then to get hold of one online as well

Kieran makes some of the best football content
I had #5 in bronze in FG, i loved them, i still have them but they dont fit me anymore. They were made in bronze and silver. Tho i think the other blue and silver r9s were just as rare, infact maybe rarer.

At the time the Predator was quite nice to use. Fortunately i had a pair and still the preferred boots until today.

I had those Nike Air zoom mercurial r9 boots in bronze. They were ridiculously light back in the day. My all time fave tho are the Nike Air zoom total 90 II. So comfortable. Also still have the f50+ version fifa approved of the teamgeist. Crazy knuckle
