  • Join me for a 20-minute flight from the maintenance hangar at Wenatchee Pangborn Memorial Airport to the Columbia River, up to the Rocky Reach Dam, and back down to Malaga. Along the way, I'll tell you about what you're seeing and tell you about my helicopter maintenance and ground handling wheels.
    Note: This is the 1080 HD version of this video. A 4K UHD version without the animated subscribe button and Member Wall that also includes landing at my summer base is available to members at the Sponsor level or higher.

    About Me and the Helicopter
    - I have been flying for about 20 years. My nearly 4,000 hours of flight time is in Robinson R44, Robinson R22, and Bell 206L (Long Ranger) helicopters.
    - The helicopter is a 2005 Robinson R44 Raven II -- the same one that appears at the beginning of the video. You can learn more about them here: robinsonheli.com/r44-specific... I own this helicopter. It is the third helicopter I've owned since 2000.
    - My helicopter has ADS-B Out and is picked up by radar facilities. You can see my track for recent flights on Flightradar24: www.flightradar24.com/data/ai... This is a great site for tracking any almost any flight, including the airlines.
    About the Video
    - The video was recorded with a GoPro Hero 8 camera (amzn.to/2PBlZ4o). The camera was connected to the helicopter's intercom system with an NFlightCam audio cable (amzn.to/31syLTm). Audio wasn't quite right for this flight -- another thing to troubleshoot -- and because only one camera was running, I only recorded in-cockpit video and not the sound of the helicopter or its engine. (Sorry!)
    - The camera was mounted with my current Instrument Cam set up, which you can learn about in this Behind-the-Scenes video: • Behind the Scenes: Coc... . It's based upon a MyPilotPro Helicopter Mount (mypilotpro.com/product/helico...) modified to get the height I need.
    - The video was edited on a iMac using Davinci Resolve 16 software. Learn more about it here: www.blackmagicdesign.com/prod...
    - The intro music is by Bob Levitus, famed "Dr. Mac." You can find him here: www.boblevitus.com/
    I TRY (really!) to drop cockpit POV videos on Sunday mornings and "extras" with more info about owning and operating a helicopter midweek. (Some channel members get early access to some of these videos.) I also host occasional livestreams with Q&A chats. SUBSCRIBE and turn on the notification bell so you don't miss anything new! And tell your friends. I'm trying hard to deliver good videos and grow my subscriber base.
    Some links on my channel are affiliate links, including all links to Amazon (amzn.to/32PLHTD) and MyPilotPro (mypilotpro.com/shop/?wpam_id=13). If you click one of them and buy something, I get a small referral reward. It doesn't cost you anything so I hope you'll shop with one of those links. Thanks.

    Great video Maria. Nice to finally get a glimpse of the defunct Gigawatt Pod Park at Pangborn Airport. Flew with you from Pangborn to Moses Lake Data Center over the summer of '17 while out there helping launch the GW Project. Would love to see you do an aerial tour with narration of all the Bitcoin Mining Sites as well as the other data centers out there; along with their history and current standings. Such a gorgeous area. Cannot wait to come back! Watch out for those low flying fighter jets barreling down the Columbia River Valley!

      I remember this flight. The data center in Moses Lake was fascinating. I still tell people about the cool air coming in one side of the building and the hot air blowing out the other side.

    Hi Maria, pardon the message I left here and I also left you a message on the Patreon. I do not see the rest of the video when you said this one ended and patrons could see the rest the full video. Well I looked on Patreon on my iPhone, Patreon on my Mac and CZcams here and I do not see any longer than 18:11 min. videos. Am I missing something?

      @FlyingMAir  Před 3 lety

      Yes. The problem is that I can’t share videos directly with Patreon users unless I sign up for a Vimeo account. Let me see if I can come up with a workaround for you since you have an account here.
