    More people in Eastern Europe need to say it, as this is the ultimate flaw in the Z narrative. NATO is not "expanding"; Eastern Europeans are asking to join NATO, and the alliance agreed. Russia has no business telling NATO or Eastern Europeans how they should behave.

    • @user-McGiver
      @user-McGiver Před 10 měsíci +1

      that ''expanding'' thing is just a bullcrap ruZZia is using to cover their ''ruscism''...
      the fact is that NATO proved to be slow... and too ''political'' [negative to a defense organization...] when ruZZia took Georgia and Crimea NATO members made money with ruZZia.... and that's weakness not just to the ruZZian mind, but to everybody else too!
      NATO has a lot of problems to fix!... we as Greece for example ''play good'' inside NATO, but we arm ourselves against a NATO member, supposed to be an ally, and alliances they made inside NATO [the ''political'' thing i said...] it's all messed up but outside NATO is even worse!....

      Exactly right. All of the Baltic states, for example, joined precisely because they feared Russia doing to them what Russia has done in Ukraine. If anything NATO has been too slow to allow cou tries like Ukraine to join - these historic victims of Russian aggression and colonialism have long been telling Western leaders that Russia cannot be trusted. We did not listen.

    If the only paramiter preventing Ukrane is the current conflict, then there is no reason why NATO members cannot agree that they will become mebers as soon as the conflict ends. That then places everyone in a known position and makes Russia's stance futile, further more, it will deter further Russian actions in other countries. It will also once conflict is ended, prevent Ukrane becoming involved in possible other Russian actions in neighbouring countries such as Moldova and Georgia.

      I am Estonian. I personally never supported the party Kaja Kallas , the Reform Party. Or any right wing political party. But I like Kaja Kallas as a person. Being Estonian and seeing our everyday political life here, I can see that most politicians are not polite and nice people, they like to be as mean as possible in debates etc. Kaja Kallas had always been polite in the traditional sense of the word. Not in a stupid way. I I appreciate that about her.
      Although right now it seems that the general population deos not support her very much. I work in a firm that carries out public opinion polls and we always have a poll going on about who you would choose as prime minister were the elections next week, or do you trust the prime minister etc. Nobody yet has answered that they would choose her at the moment and nobody trusts her. But this has always been the case with Estonians: it is in our nature and culture never to be happy with the politicians who are currently in power, to always be critical. And I think it is a good thing. It keeps us awake and has saved us from going to sleep and taking the easy way out. Had we done that, we would not exist as a nation anymore.
      But Kaja Kallas" father, also a politician, used to be a comedian and a quiz show participant, and was loved in Estonia, back in the days. And I think that subconsciously it is the reason why Kaja Kallas is thought of quite warmly here. Kind of like the daughter of the comedian. So people,. even if they are critical of her, kind of forgive all her mistakes. So Putin can just f..k off of course with his stupid arrest warrents, he has no authority here anyway.

Used no-confidence vote to push though wide tax jumps while lowering some taxes to middle class and up. Reduced support for large families reverting change from just last year, while we had the lowest ever birth rate year. And she didn't ask for a mandate by including these changes in her campaign, choosing the be a ruler rather than representative. I am upset at my government for slowly providing Ukraine help. I believe we, America, should open our 'weapon box' to the Ukrainians to end Putin's Russia's aggression. Many think Ukraine's counter offensive is slow... I say, "Go clear a trench with people shooting at you and see how fast you can do it and remember the frontline is over 1000km." Ukraine needs F16s, longer range precision weapons now - well, a year ago. Russia is winning. It has nearly exhausted NATO supplies. The US has even begged China not to supply Russia. Despite the strongest sanctions in the world Russia is not broken (sanction upon sanction).
      Russia can occupy Russian dominant areas but otherwise has a very hard time of expanding. The population growth is not looking good at all, there won't be ever growing supplies of young Russian people to take over the world.
      Estonia might become more powerful if it can increase that atrocious birth rate, if only each woman could have 6 children to power up the country and keep needing more territory for them to expand into. Having a growing population of young people is necessary to gain territory, work, breed, set up the institutions needed to make that location part of the parent country - it can't be done with a shrinking population composed of mostly old people.

      1. NATO never has and never will need Ukraine's help. NATO is already uncontestably the most powerful military force on the planet, and the addition of Ukraine contributes nothing meaningful or significant to that force.
      2. Russia is not going to attack any NATO countries unless they are attacked first. Russia is not suicidal.

    Thanks Estonia for standing up on the frontline, and showing us ALL true bravery in giving your Sov era artillery and shells to Ukraine. I reckon we in the US are still short 300 M2 Bradleys, another 100 M1 Abrams, 142 Stryker MGS (retired), more M-109 SPGs and now 150 F-16s. Enjoyed your NATO Press conference speech. My family came from Lithuania and they're very nice folk to get to know again, with no contact since 1937. You're rebuilding in a smart way, so best wishes to all your people. I do hope our DOD gives you a deal & sends you some of our forty year old Bradleys and their TOW2 missiles are also "obsolete" now, which destroyed more armor in Iraq than Abrams MBTs. There is a GAO Report online. Our 8000 M-113s were obsolete 70 years ago but if your needs must, make them an offer? We'll save more on storage and maintenance so bargain hard. Free is good. You can always fill them with any unwanted officers and send them toward the sound of the guns? I spent 2 days in Latvia and then went back to Lithuania for their much better beer. Estonia next trip over. I get my best data on this war from Perun on YT.

The human race might at long last reach maturity and realise that taking what you want by force and aggression is always morally wrong. As a male it dismays me that our gender causes most of the suffering in the World. We are all one species and if we learn to co-opertate together like responsible adults we can eliminate human suffering caused by greed or hunger for power. We have a beautiful planet and we should concentrate on taking care of it. We should not have to waste resources on so-called defence. The money would be better spent on preserving life not destroying it. There are enough natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, droughts etc to contend with - we don't need man-made disasters like mass murder and destruction of homes and lives. ALL LIVES MATTER. The comparative amounts of money spent on military spending by different countries is misleading. Russia wastes a lot of money because of the rampant and systematic corruption in that country. The US, Germany, France, UK and Italy (other large countries) already have (various degrees of) established military infrastructures and substantial (usually highly subsidised) defense industries. Ukraine is not at peace, allowing Ukraine into NATO before it is properly at peace with ALL of its neighbours is the same as declaring war on them.
    NATO isn't a magic bullet that can be applied to everywhere in Europe unless you are already prepared to start a war with russia tomorrow.
