I love his description of our ghostly states. Our presences haunt each-other. In the best way possible ❤️
he made a few comments born into trouble.not getting over the great hunger.genetic memories of the famine run deep, the true horror is being glossed over in a recent documentaries..so spot on tommy for sharing thoughts that are in many irish they feel a great hurt has happened to them but dont realy know what.
Tommy is a great interviewee, AND a fantastic interviewer. It's the connections he makes with others -- clear & kind & clean.
Also, I love how he talks about his kids. Deeply loving.
He is brilliant, no bull , honest , could listen to him for a lifetime.
Always worth listening to and, he is a master of comedy.
"I just want to touch my kids, i love it" priceless and completely innocent
Tommy mentioned the famine memorial down by the three Arena. I went there after it had been raining, there was bouquet of flowers under each statue. Was quite beautiful.
That was dinner!
This sort of interviewing is a breath of fresh air..relaxed, thought provoking and funny.
yeah the long form interviews are definitely more interesting and less fanfare.

Tommy's one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.
This is an outstanding interview. Tommy is an authentic, brilliant man and I could listen to him from now until the end of days... which is Easter 2019 by the looks of things!
Damien O'Leary what happens at Easter?
@Book Worm So if he is a tool arent you a right tool to be watching another tool!
Paul Kelleher he’s right he’s a fooking crusty prick.
Just see your comments.. End if days Easter 2019..wow,sadly 2020 and 2021 were definitely end of days for millions of people, 2022 has just begun.. Its not even Easter yet..
Lovely man. Beautiful words, honestly spoken.
For me Tommy is the best interviewer I've heard/seen. Dion is up there with him. They both let the interviewee speak, no producer in their ear with their agenda.
I'm fairness, this series of interviews by Dion are nicely done.
Outstanding interview and interviewer
Brutally honest interview and quite an eye-opener for those who love Tommy Tiernan.
EML Media prick.
I love his honesty about touching your kids. It's hard to explain to people.
He is a brilliant actor, very funny I've loved his humour since I first saw him. Liverpool Merseyside has a memorial to the Famine, several hundred thousand irish disposed came to,the city , we are a Celtic city irish,Scots and Welsh
Could listen to this all day ... Brilliant interview 👍
Brilliant interview. FairPlay to Tommy for such an openness. Without strong people like this who share honestly and who drop the social fake cascade we all are guilty of , then none of us will be able to grow and even really think and face our own experiences. Brilliant dialogue, a great balance of a serious conversation with an injection of comedy. Thanks
Nothing serious about this conversation. Rubbish really.
Thank you for the wonderful conversation. It was a pleasure to be along for the ride.
Coen Mons he’s an open borders scumbag. A cancer in our country
Great interview, Tommy is always worth listening to, such a philosopher and a great thinker.!!
Who u callin a Tinker? He's from Navan, doesn't meen he's a Tinker!
He’s a wanker.
@@hugostiglitz6914 🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant !!!!
A wonderful discussion, thank you for sharing it.
Great stuff! Seen an ad for this on Facebook and had to look for it!
Brilliant interview, thanks.
Love you Tommy ! I was lucky to have seen your show a couple of years ago, you are my favourite comedian.
Same best show ever been to and in such an unlikely place amazing 🤩
Loved loved this interview . What a fabulously honest man.. He is very entertaining and funny.
Excellent interview! Interesting to see how much Tommy expresses my thoughts and feelings, especially as a parent and an adult child.
Wonderful interview. Thank you.
Great inertview, love Tommies modesty, honesty, humility, besides being a 'neurotic narciccist' 😂 I just know how he feels needing his own space at times, yet not feeling alone. Thank you for giving us this insight into your life, you are so loved Tommy Tiernan, God be with you ❤️☘️☘️☘️👍 South Africa
Fantastic interview.
I Love your honesty in the moment comment. Yes, so true for many of us. Thank you Tommy for being your true self.
Great interview as always. Mr Fanning is the only interviewer whom one can hear listening! His questions are often short but so to the point as to be magical or worthy of a fine therapist. What joy there is in simply sitting with him.
Class!!
What a lovely bloke this is before derry girls which he is great in Irish humour qt its best I remember too when he was in father Ted as the depressed priest absolutely hilarious one of my favourite comic shows ever!!!
Found the joy of Tommy tiernan coz of Derry girls, what have I been missingxx
tommy is spot about everything he is a brave man
This is Beautiful
Wish I could find more of him on yt
I have been an observer of TT for years.
I used to be a fan, went to see him in a show in Waterford around 2004 and left feeling disgusted and cheated after such a rubbish idiotic manic performance.
It was like if I can’t be funny, I’ll be crazy, if I can’t be crazy, I’ll be manic and maybe they will love it.
I didn’t.
I lost interest for years after and would more or less turn him off when he was on tv.
Then his show came on and I started to see glimpses of what made me a fan in the first place.
The likes of this interview confirm that he is intelligent, interesting, informed and engaging and maybe it is his best platform within the pressure of having to be hilarious or “mad”.
Alas like us all, I think maybe we get more interesting as we age due to the gathering of life experiences.
His Sunday independent magazine are gently thought provoking with often leave me with a gentle smile as I imagine the glint in his eye as he is writing the piece.
Could listen to tommy all day
I could too at a distance. Wouldn't like to be sitting opposite him. Id be scared. 😂
Tommy is brilliant and I wish we were close friends.
8:40 😂😂😂 I’m using that one.
My grandma started praying and as I slept still all I could hear was
(Starts chanting in muffled grunts)
Hail Mary Mother of God praises be.....
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tommy is a treasure💋
I love you dad. " sure why wouldn't you"😁😁😁😁😁
Tommy is in my world the greatest- Well, pretty good....
He's fairly positive about falling off the wagon. I'm 11 years sober and I regret every drink.
I am trying to lose weight, cutting out the booze is a big help.
It's something I also regret very much.
id love the touch and wrestle. from my dad.
It's such a pity Tommy can't be a guest on his own show.
He is.
I think Tommy is the Irish Billy Connolly 👍
That was great. Imagine you're over in Swindon whatever you're doin, and you're drivin down the road, you stop at traffic lights and there's Tommy Tiernan out for a jog haha.
I used to work in Swindon. It would have been funny alright to see him at the traffic lights.
when one considers the work of Thomas Tiernan, one cannot help but contemplate his artistic demeanour as a critical tinker.
TheDrFMG he’s a wanker.
Irishness at it core
To be a great comedian, you must also be a philosopher!
What a beautiful man
i live in galway as does tommy wouldnt be unusual to see him in some states over the drink back in the day he was once found asleep on the prom wearing only a trench coat and boots narrowly escaping a court appearance
anton s Had He been in Salt Hill at Donovan’s then?
i try to watch this video once a month ,hoping his mind set will rub off on me. thanks for sharing Joezzz
Vegan Steven trust m u don’t want his mindset.
i loooooove it tommy big love to you from russia i enjoyed all you stand ups please do come to russia for hollidays big welcome to you i hope you n your family will like it n may you have new enspiration for new funny wild stories that we can watch n laugh a lot thanks tommy n lots hugs n kisses xxxxxxx
I love Russian football its exciting
I asked my father for a pair of shoes one day in 1993 haven't seen him sinc :(
Don't bother yer arse being careful Tommy!
(I just caught myself correcting the apostrophe between the n and t above!)
They should discuss different things like nepotism. :)
He looks quite a lot like Roy Keane in this interview. Kind of odd if you imagine Keane was giving such a frank interview void of anger, agressivness, and dismissivness of people in a past career!
ROCKSOCK79 wrong Roy is a proper Irish ☘️ man. Not like this crusty.
He was really good at Shepherd's Bush a week and a half ago
Great venue too
Ballinasloe says hello,😁👍,Alive.
✨Goldust ✨
Wonderful interview. Tommy is so clever and wittty. I'm also wondering if he is trying to get a bit of a rise with the interviewer.. Slightly dead pan and I think Tommy is trying, in his quite way, to shock him,lol
He's turning into Wallace, from Wallace and Gromitt
It seems his parents were indifferent. Glad he perceived it as freedom or it wud hav been very hurtful.
He hasn't lived an unexamined life!
Roy Keane
I can't remember the last time I saw a DVD, a DVD player. Is there still money in that? Must be if he's selling it.
Still using one John. Works well, you should try it?
He looks much better without all the hair
Feral Philosopher and a lot more . Love ya T !
"I hate tourin' England .. I fuckin HATE it ..."
Tommy has a wonderful way at looking at the world and I love his view points ... but then he can go on about cunningless and ruin everything by just not being funny and becoming very mainstream.
I don't know why a poetic reply.
Tipping The Berg
The unconscious thought
I heard
coming from deep waters
below
as a whale a spout might blow.
In my mouth just sound
nothing profound.
Yet it seemed to impress
the young lady well dressed.
Who asked about
the other side
as her mother had just died.
I can't remember exactly
what came out of my head
something about,
honouring the dead,
about the ghosts inside
from whom we can't hide.
She thanked me
in her own polite kind of way.
And I wished sometimes
my unconscious
had nothing to say,
nothing at all
as I walked down the hall.
Would be cool to see Rory Mcllroy in this kind of setting
" neurotic narcissist 'narcotic '". 😊
sort of ends up being a 'feral philosopher' all the same...some wise words in the mix of some typical Irish sh*te
Football clubs suck
Sad to hear he fell off the wagon, and that IS falling off the wagon. That's ten years of sobriety thrown away.
crap. didn't realise. that's crap to hear.
He should of stayed in his lane. And now he’s a puppet for rte pushing his propaganda bollox on to the Irish ☘️ people. Sellout traitors.
Wanker.
Class!!
