Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

I read the Bible but understood only the flat words on the page, until I heard and responded to the preaching of the love of God through Jesus. Then, as I again opened the Word to read, the written words came alive and spoke directly to ME! I read like a starving woman and as I read the Bible regularly the meaning and purpose of my young life became increasingly clear by the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Read and cry out to God for light to see. He is good and generous and will not ignore your sincere prayer. Rather, it delights Him to open blind eyes.
I recently started to listen to this great man of God .How so much more would the churches be filled if those in the pulpit spoke like this . I am so grateful to the person who as shared this with us
What a true man of God .He puts me on track again with God .The world needs these rich teachings.God bless all who take the time to read this x

I really enjoy Spurgeon’s sermons. He had a great ministry, and yet his sermons speak with power. I think he was one of the great preachers of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. People
today would profit from reading or listening to his messages. He was doctrinally sound
and will help all who give him their attention to grow in Grace.

Over the years Charles Spurgeon has been a wonderful help through my most trying times. His devotionals and sermons are such a treasure. I call him 'my long departed best friend' as I do his dear wife, Susannah Spurgeon, who also is real treasure. Thank you for recording his sermons as saves my blurry eyes from reading them. What a blessing!!
Mr. Spurgeon has a simple and clear way of presenting the gospel. I always learn so much from him.
I never knew about this great man of God Mr Charles Spurgeon until today, thanks to my mother who recorded it on a religious program that she enjoys. I never knew such people existed and I thank my Father in heaven that I got to know about the late Mr Spurgeon and his life of devotion and preaching of the Gospels.. A man who was not taught by man made institutions but by God's Holy Spirit. If I ever become a preacher I would ask God to make me like the late Mr Spurgeon, may he rest in peace.
When do you ever hear a sermon like this in Churches in this land …..the great falling away , is it any wonder when we are starved of food from God , that is my prayer today …..oh Mighty and Everlasting Father your children are starved for spiritual food , we are dying for want of a mighty preacher to bring us back to your sacred presence, give us a Revival in the land , stir the hearts of our leaders to speak your Name with reverence and awe in our churches , Parliament and schools , we have banished you from the public square and believers are pushed even more to the margins of our society . We are a lost and wicked Nation , forgive us all our sins gracious Lord Jesus , bring us back Lord under your healing wings. Amen 🙏🏻

This man of God lived and spoke as th Holy Spirit moved him never realising over a century later his words would still bring many searching back to God through the Atmospheric airwaves he so illustratively gave God th Glory of creating, through Jesus Christ The Living Word and the Blessed Holy Spirit.
My heart hurts for the way I've been with You God my Father. So I pray that You Christ forgive me & grant me repentance. I thank you for blessing our generation with sound teaching by the Spirit of Jesus. LORD God thank You for loving the elect with pastor Spurgeon & the brothers of old. I also thank You now for pastors as Washer, Plate, Chan, Chandler, Contreras, MacArthur, Sinclair Ferguson & many others that teach Your Word in Spirit and in Truth. Thank you for making sure that the truth of the Word of Jesus will continue to speak to mankind. Jesus thank You for LOVING us that You gave up Your life only to give us ours who believe, amen

Not one Christian in a thousand has heard of George Muller, but he was one of the greatest men of faith in church history. Reading a biography of Muller was one of the most inspirational steps in my Christian journey!

Wow, how times have changed. My church is currently doing a series on prayer. It is a good church and a solid church of sound doctrine, but the pastors may have been a more inspired had they listened to this. How wonderful is the Christian faith! Being able to approach our God and Saviour personally sets us apart. " Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16.
Good Gospel is rare these days. This is a blessing.
It AMAZES me how long ago these words were spoken but his words are timeless for they apply in this age just as much as they did in the days this great Minister lived!

Pure and unadulterated sermons! I am moved and blessed by a single sermon heard from Spurgeon, than the combination of many sermons on the same topic written in modern times.
I am so happy for these messages that sheds light in this present darkness.
When the (too many) days come, bringing pain, anxiety, etc...besides the word in the bible is having a word from Mr Spurgeon or Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones; they never disappoint and comfort the continual pain & anguish...Thank you for this.

It's a Blessing to hear the eloquence sincere oratory of Spurgeon's heart felt preaching.
What is amazing is that he was called the people's preacher. He was known for oratory that was on the level of the common people. Today, this level of speech is considered by most Christians too difficult yo follow, and people like St . Augustine or the King zjames Bible are out if reach for most people. It's sad to see how how our intellect and education has fallen in a hundred years. But I'm sure the Lord will compensate. He sends out street preachers now that speak in the language of the gangs and the rappers, for very few would listen to this today.
It takes diligent reading and dependence on The Holy Spirit to give one revelation of Reading with prayer first. I have some of his books and looking forward to the next.

I've learned a lot and very eager to apply what I've learned in conversing with God...so many treasures/wisdom in this sermon...it seems my spirit had a great feast....Oh i will be able to talk to my Savior and Lord very well this time...When nothing seems to come out I'll beg Him to speak to me and I'll open His Word...that was a great wisdom from the African convert...prayer shd not be one sided...or soon it will grow dull and stale...will let Him speak to me esp since He is WISER, he should be the one speaking more:))) Oh I've been listening to this over and over...ill be taking notes...i shall come back to this again and again...

psalm 147 /19/20 he show his words to Jacob his statutes and judgments to Israel for he has not dealt with any other nation and for his judgments they have not known them so according to the bible it says he show his words statutes and judgments to Israel never mention no other nation let's continue according to the bible the most high never dealt with any other nation and for his judgments they have not known them according to the bible the most high never dealt with any other nation so how do you conversate with a god that don't deal with you and how do you conversate with with a god when you don't know his words statutes or judgments according to the bible
