@@x8jason8x no, hes got mics on each of the drums and he’s got them running through a noise gate. I can hear the gate closing after a moment each time he hits the drums. I can tell theyre poorly tuned because i have ears. Dont you hear the sour dissonances in the snare?

Listening to it, it sounds central panned and hollow, exactly like it sounds recorded from a cellphone mic to me, but idk... I wasn't there. Could be just a terrible interface. Yes I hear all kinds of flat, but I don't hear enough of resonance to tell if they're poorly tuned or purposefully tuned. In all the years I've been a recording engineer, never been accused of not having ears though. 🤣 Maybe don't treat every disagreement like it's an insult to your pride, and you won't make such unqualified implications, friend. 😅
I watched your unboxing video. It's very exciting to finally get the kit you worked so hard for, it takes a lot of money, patience and dedication especially those times where you have the money and then life happens and sets you back. So respect to you for sticking to it 👍
They sound awesome man.. I love the kicks.. the floor tom out in front.. the huge crash cymbals, and that china sounds amazing bro.. it definitely gives the kit a huge sound.. fn killer.. 🤘🤘

Pretty cool no ride Tom’s and the floor Tom really gives a nice punch, dual bass gives a special repeat 16th pattern . The drum solo is a on point rock beat awesome.
I was expecting a crazy deep bass drum sound. They look gigantic lol. They actually sounded high pitched and like a small bass drum would imo. Overall it all sounds great! Nice chops too.

DW? What's up with the monster kick drum on your left foot with the LUDWIG resonant head? WTF? Is that a 32? 34? I haven't seen a bass drum that big in diameter since I was in marching band. Sounds great, but you need your own van for just the drums.
@trenttieken I've been using the black suede emperors past year and love them! On my acrylic DW kit I have black dot and love those! Only thing I could experiment with is the Rezo head.
@@trenttieken I have the 14x12, 16x15 DW jazz floor toms. Love the two of them, but I need a nice thick batter on them to shorten duration. Sadly my 12 rack sounds like crap with a thick batter so I'm kinda at a loss.
@@einarabelc5 I used a Remo P77 Batter but I think it overly controls the Snare which tamed it too much. Gonna try something else when I get some extra cash to really open it up, in person it sounds massive

I've been a professional drummer for over 40 years. How drums are tuned is a personal taste thing, but that is probably the worst sounding drum kit that I have ever heard,,, and especially surprised to see that it is from DW...

A few years back, Joey Castillo was using Shure Beta 52A on Floor Toms and it was a punch in the gut live. Shure needs to donate 5 of those to you.
