I keep receiving regular requests for more details on my Hotrod-red DW kit and I thought I'd let you watch me prep the kit for a recording session and talk a little about this red-hot gorgeous beast. I recently snagged a 10 in Pearl snare for next to nothing ,the darn thing sounds great with the coated Remo on it.
I'm not a drummer but it's so cool to watch somebody who's so good at what they do.

@@alexjackson8841 both of them are super technically skilled, though mangini for whatever reason just doesn’t really do anything for me. But in the end it’s art. So while I say michaelangelo is the greatest and someone else will say Vermeer is the greatest. And we’re honestly both right!
Clay Foster I really like luke hollands playing aswell. I’m not really much of a drummer i play for fun but i’m not high level or anything. It seems to me like when you get to such a high level like these guys it’s not really about who’s better or not - just who you prefer

I think the "20 minutes later" section was the most relatable thing I've seen in my life.
Thomas is a machine..but also a master attention to detail. I couldn’t think up this arrangement in my dreams. He does it and when something doesn’t fit, he finds a way. Think outside the box. Thank you for this video!
This is why drummers have drum techs. They can usually get the kit set up in less than 7 hours!
But is one the best parts of the gig and I say it as a drummer and roadie/drum tech for hobbie

I’m 11 and this guy is my idol i watched him on drumeo and man he’s got chops I play drums and oh boi I wish I had money for a drum work shop set I’ve played drums for about 2 years this man is a beast on that kit
Stay focused and earn it, as Thomas did, and one day you will have it.

Hey man, I’m 13 and I’ve been playing for about 10 years. It may not seem believable, but God gave me the natural talent of drumming. Just about a year ago I started actually taking drums seriously and I wish I had before. I can’t stress it enough, actually take drums as serious as possible if it’s what you wanna build a career out of, don’t make the mistake I did.

You dont need that kind of money to change somethings in your set up. Necesity and lack of resources boost your creativity to inimaginable ways. Money doesn't get you out of the box, son.

His technique is so fluid, I don’t think there’s many people in the world as good at anything as Thomas is at drums.

The studio gave him a free day of setting up, because he hits several times 20 minutes , because his nature of being a drumbeast wit an overload of energy,hahaha... Go Thomas, good luck with the recordings!!!!!

I really respect how you tune and setup your own kit. I'm a drummer too and your character is very inspiring. I enjoy settng up drum rigs and being a friend's drum tech even, heck I do it for free just for the passion of it.
Manually tuning your drums, without dials and just by ear. you have my respect mr. Lang.

People keep asking why is he so great, or ask how they can get as good as him and this is how you do it.. Man he took that old saying " it takes a thousand hours of practice to become a professional " and he ran with it. That's why Thomas is such an amazing drummer. He did exactly whatever it took to be a drummer that could work from any angle and not miss a lick. He probably has done a thousand hours on both hands and on both feet knowing him.. Any of you are inspired to become a big name in the drumming world then take it serious and put the countless hours and days and weeks and years into every aspect of the drums like Thomas Lang did. He started a singer and put out an album and when it didnt do well he knew he needed to make a decision on what to do to be relevant in the music industry.. My hat is off and all the respect in the world to.this man. He did exactly what most of us wont do and that's get serious and put the work in.

This guy is just beautiful to listen to when he plays. Such a great musician. The musicality that he can create with a percussive intrument is oustanding. One of my favourite drummers out there! He is a beast both technically and musically.
