    URGENT MESSAGE!
Hey Becky! Everything is so amazing! There is one thing very urgent for you to consider! I manage a community garden with over 60 raised bed, , they are 16’ x 5’ and 3’ deep. They all started having a major problem with the boards on the long side bowing, due to the weight of the soil over time! You can prevent it NOW by putting in a support board at the 8’ point, running across and attached to the edges on each side! It is a pretty simple fix if done now! I hope you have time to consider this issue before the soil goes in.
We all love you girl! Keep up your great content!

Yes very good idea as my beds did start to do that just from soil erosion and the weather as we get alot of snow in Wisconsin but I would do that to prevent problems down the road. How girl are you going to do all this gardening w baby boy and being between 6 & 9 months old oh my but then I think Becky has alot of ambition and your much much younger actually about my daughter age somehow it will all work out well for you.

I think having them in a run will be fine. When we had our chickens free range they always made a mess on our porches and when they had 100 acres to roam. You’re right, it was embarrassing when people came over because they would have to step over the chicken mess and as much as I loved my girls, it is a daily chore to keep up with their mess. Also, not everyone likes chickens. I had people that were terrified of my chickens. Every homestead is different and I think having your girls in one area is okay. It keeps them safe and keeps your homestead the way you want it. There is nothing wrong with that.

Hi Becky - when it comes to doing pressure treated posts, they are not only cost effective but also since going in the ground last longer as it takes longer for them to rot. To try and alleviate any toxins that may be in pressure treated wood from leeching into your garden soil you can get some linseed oil and a paint brush from your local home depot and coat the pressure treated boards with this linseed oil to prevent any leeching from happening. Linseed is made from flax and is food grade and safe! Hope this helps!

You are so awesome I wish I had your energy. I use to have a big garden but now at 73 I live in a small apartment with no garden space or patio so I watch you and enjoy your garden
Keep up the great work blessing to you Josh and baby A

Interesting that you did the paver bricks. Here in the plains they become very slippery when wet and icy during winter which I thought you were trying to avoid. Textured cement and "tire rubber" pavers work much better for no slipping. That said it does look great!

Congrats on getting the garden beds in so early. I know you were wanting that and it's come true! I suggest the heavier harvests be closer to the large pathway in the middle of the garden so you're not having to lugged those too far. Have fun planning this space!
