Problem with Top Fin 20 Power Filter

It never worked correctly before I filmed this video. It would not suck water most of the time, but when it did, it would make that loud rattling noise. After the video, it went back to being loud.

Thanks, dude! My filter lost all power barely spitting out any water and I was worried it was broken. Watched this, took the thing apart and in the propeller were a few snails and leaves clogging it. Now it's running back like it's new again.

I thought mine might have had a snail in it as I am using this in a 20 gallon snails only tank. But I took it apart, my daughter took it apart, & neither of us found anything. I put it together filled it up, plugged it in, & adjusted the flow wide open. It still only trickled out. Left it over night, & it was better but if I turn it down less than 1/2, nothing comes out. It's like a faucet with low pressure.

@@ajoyrod Only thing I can think of is that the motor that pushes the water is blown or burnt out. May need to buy another and replace it.

Anyone who says Topfin is garbage doesnt know how to set their shit up. Push the thing down and itll work. Itll make a loud snap once it’s home. I have 14 set ups and over 55 fish all living on TopFin filters and they all work great.

I had the same problem and sorry if it's to late to help but it worked when I poured the water in while the filter was running and making the same sound.

did you put water in it all the way? or just a little water ?

It's just not in all the way, that's why it's rattling and the top won't fit on the filter. I had the same problem so I took the filter out of the tank and emptied the water. Then I was able to push it together easily and put it back in the tank, refill and it worked perfectly!

Kathrin Kelly na mine rattled and then I pushed it down and it started making a really loud noise when it stopped rattling

You have to push the intake tube down until it stops. Mine is super quiet, and fully functional.

This might be old but use a q-tip to clean the hole in the filter that the impeller seats into, then, like the others say, push it down with force.

Push down on it till that tube Clicks into place. Use force!!!!

Your not making sure it's snug down into the motor.

Do you have it down in the motor right? It sounds like it's not seated in the motor.

Your intake pipe and impeller might not be in all the way
