  • I got a new Traeger Pro 34 Pellet Smoker. I got it set up and burned in, and for the 1st cook I threw on a chicken breast and some chicken thighs seasoned with SuckleBuster's Honey BBQ Rub. I also threw on some Jalapeno poppers, garlic bread, and sausage. Everything turned out good !! I am impressed with this pellet smoker !!

    Well look at us two noobs on the pellet grill, welcome to it Sean! That traeger looks really cool, solid and plenty of space. While it’s not the same as wood and coal I’ve been surprised at how well they do, turn out some good food for sure and some good clean smoke flavor. For a first cook that was a feast, it all looked delicious. Can’t wait to see some more on it. Have a great weekend brother and keep on grillin!

    • @ramble218
      @ramble218 Před měsícem +1

      @@FalconPilot419 This means don't cook it to 165 - it will continue cooking when it is off the fire. Once the chicken is removed from the heat, place it on a cutting board or a plate and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. During this time, the internal temperature will continue to rise slightly, reaching the desired temperature and ensuring the chicken is thoroughly cooked. Additionally, the juices that have been driven to the center of the meat during cooking will redistribute, resulting in a juicier and more evenly cooked piece of chicken.

    • @patrickhopkins5626
      @patrickhopkins5626 Před měsícem

      All meat will continue to cook when you take it off of the grill. The fat insulates the heat-put it under some foil on a plate or cutting board and let time do the work. I take stakes off with 5-8 degrees left to go to desired temp. No use in checking it with a thermometer-with chicken you can check by color or if the juices run clear when you cut it. Beef can moo at you and you won’t die.

      Hi Jason. In smoke mode the smoke rolls out of it. Regular temp settings for cooking doesn’t put out very much. When I cook briskets I leave it on smoke mode for a few hrs. then turn up the temp to finish it off. I’m very impressed with this grill. Hope this helps. Have a great weekend!! 👍🔥😎

      It depends on the cook. I usually change it every couple of cooks. I also have an old small shop vac I use to vacuum out the pellet dust while I have my drip pan out. • @MoonshinesRoadhouse
      @MoonshinesRoadhouse  Před 3 lety +1

      On smoke setting it gets up to about 180 degrees. If you start at 225 degrees it is not getting as much smoke as it will when it's on smoke setting. (smoke setting puts out a lot of smoke) When I do a brisket I leave it on smoke setting for at least 2-3 hrs. then I crank the heat up to 275-300 or so to set my bark and get the internal temp up to around 165 degrees, then I wrap it up and cook it at 300 or so until the internal temp is 195-200 degrees. I gotta say, I really do not like this smoker. We got one for my work and we just can't get enough smoke out of it. I have other smokers at home and between me and other guys at work, we have a lot of experience smoking. We just can't get any smoke flavor because the thing barely produces smoke. We all know you want a thin blue smoke, we don't even get that. It's like the fire chamber burns the pellets before they even get a chance to smoke. This thing will not build bark on beef or pork. We've talked to Traeger and they are sending us a new auger (even though I don't think that is the problem), sorta insane since it is a brand-new machine. Any issues at all with smoke flavor or building bark on briskets or shoulders?

    This is my reply to a follow up email from traeger my grill is still not working only been able to use it a few times, everytime there is a problem! Dont buy this piece of crap
    This call did not solve the problem. The grill is still seeing auger issues!
    It won't ignite and is not functioning at all. I am requesting my money back from this lemon product which i have had nothing but one problem after another since i purchased it from true value last year. I have called true value to complain and they are going to escalate this to a higher level and perhaps this will convince them not to carry your products any longer.
    Your expensive pellets are made from sawdust that disintegrates over time and turns to dust . This presents a huge problem.
    I had several bags of brand new traeger pellets I stored under my carport for the last 3 months unopened off the ground and covered with a tarp under a carport and they all turned to moist powder. The moist powder that clogged the grill.
    I ended up spending/wasting $90 dollars worth of sawdust from trager!!! I will make this information available on all social media platforms I can think of and make a you tube video warning people about your products unless you do the right thing and refund my money. I don't want to give this any more chances. I'm fed up calling your lousy customer support every time I want to use this problematic grill. Today I was on the phone for almost 2 hours with several different guys, the last one named Oscar. When I should have been doing other things, Your grills are maintenance headaches! Your pellets are sawdust!
    Sincerely,
    JT
