I am not often commenting but considering the recent news, I wished I would have told you that before you passed away. Your passion as well as your behavior and enthusiasm made me buy again a Red Sea Max Nano peninsula. I have learned so much from your videos and I wished I would have commented that before. May you rest in peace, you will not be forgotten. ❤
I love how simple all your system are. Speak volumes for those trying to push the latest and greatest gadgets. This year I plan to STOP tinkering with my tank. Just want to set back and watch what it does.
i recently restarted my reef with simplicity in mind this time round. this nano reef build series has been such an eye opener on how we can seemingly over complicate things and can become distracted with all the cool reef gear and technology available to us. awesome work jake!
I really like that tank. It made me buy a used RS Max Nano myself as a new reefer. I think a lot of tanks are too full with too many different corals. I will pick a few I really like and just watch them grow. (hopefully)
Or you can buy a bunch, have some die and grow the ones you keep. I stopped buying coral about a year ago, only way I buy a coral is if it’s a nice micro lord I don’t have. I’ve lost a 2 frogspawn frags, a couple hammers and so forth. I still have a bunch, but coral will always die. He will say it in his videos as well. The Duncan in this tank he’s showing died, so buy a nice amount of corals you want. It’s likely not all will survive, my Duncan’s were my first coral. They’re huge, each where single polyps and now have 6+ each
I remember watching the video of you Jake setting this amazing tank up 2 years ago in 1day, I thought 💭 then it was incredible what you did and what you were saying during recording. I’ve not seen anybody else even recommend doing that, and certainly not putting corals in on the same day as setting it up. I always look 👀 forward to a video on its progress. I’d like to see you putting your choice of a mushroom coral in the tank. 👍🏴
I'm returning to the hobby after a 10 year hiatus. I own a Waterbox Peninsula 15 with mixed coral and have had it running for maybe 4 months with great success. I subscribe to the "help it crawl and when it walks don't touch it" method. I do a .33% water change every Sunday and outside of temperature and salinity I almost never test the water. I think people spend too much time chasing numbers instead of letting their tank do it's thing. One love!
Just love that tank. Its non sterile look (eg some algaes and aptasia) are part of its appeal! The snail shell garden of hair algae is simply hilarious! :) Great channel, great content as usual.
This tank got me into the hobby. Honestly I am amazed it did so well with no waterchanges. Guess if you have the right circumstances magic can happen. Tank looks great. Edit:. Liked the music at the intro.
Love the low maintenance aspect of it and non fancy equipment. You see everyone and their brother saying get a wave maker! Do weekly water changes! Get a fancy doser! Etc. None of that seems necessary when you have a reasonable bio load and are only keeping a few LPS and soft corals. I’m planning something very similar in my new peninsula 25 gallon
Also appreciate the tolerance of the problem algaes and aptasia . People similarly act like if you get those you’re a huge failure or something and you’re showing, hey if you get it, it’s manageable
Love this wee reef. I always get my head bitten off when I tell people we can have corals from day 1. I always get the whole 'but but but cycling' story
I did same experiment because of this tank it’s full of flower pots and 3 types of macro algae I did start doing water changes recently just to harvest algae and detritus but basically auto pilot thanks for the inspiration!!
Such a cool tank! I almost cannot believe on how little maintenance it’s running an thriving. I would at a red montipora setosa. The color pop will really match the rest 😏
Seen the Redsea reefled's in action over the weekend, i'm impressed with the look of the light it gives and does grow corals so its a + big time. Wanted to go with those lights but read tons about dropping signal to wifi which is strange one would think once you program it would continue as such. Curious if Adam had any issues with that subject.
I love GSP on the back wall…it grows like a weed! I’m not sold on the difference between the Max nano peninsula and the Desktop peninsula! I’m just gonna beg the desktop!
great update of the easy reefing tank but would it be possible to get an how to for smooth skin acros? Had a rtn event of my collection and cant figure out what happened even with icp and aquabiomics tests
Looks good. Treat with some vibrant or flux rx and the bubble algae and hair algae would die off... why not? No harm, most of the pests gone, puff! Lol
Leaving it the freak alone, lol - we always want to try and push a reef tank to be a 'little bit better' which is what usually gets most oof us into trouble
I tried doing this approach for months and then decided to do some tests. Nitrate levels made me worry about the fish health so I had to start a regular maintenance schedule again. The corals all looked fine though Great videos. Love this series. Maybe throw a Pocillopora or a digi in there. Mine seemed to thrive in the non waterchange period
can a tank like this get some clean up crew aswell? idk why but i just like having some in there (debating if i wanna start this hobby at this point) i'd wanna start small but there is just so much info
We have a couple astrea snails on there. But because of how small this tank is we keep the clean up crew limited. We also have a couple peppermint shrimp in there too!
Not sure how you do it. Me: Babysits every parameter and most corals might survive. Jake: Forgets a DNA frag in a cup and puts it through the dish washer.....needs to frag it when it comes out. You and crew are superior reefing beings!

Please more updates and let us follow along for the rescape. My own reef tank is running along the same principles as this little reef tank!
I use to have a 175g more than 10 years ago, so much work. I just bought a 16g Corlite and want to keep things simple. You are an inspiration.
Thanks for the update Jake. Love that gold torch

Great video. I have just set up an RS Nano as a floating reef. Recently discovered your Reef Therapy podcast. Binge watching. They are very good
Hell yeah I’ve been waiting for an update on this tank. Was telling a buddy about this tank and just rewatched the old videos a few weeks ago 🤙🏻

Jake thanks for sharing this video. Can you please comment on how you make the solid glass top work? Salt creep blocking the light for example.
I found this channel with this series of videos. I love this tank. Great channel. Excellent content.
I enjoy these relaxed interludes with specific tanks

The best, most informative aquarium channel bar none. Jake's body of knowledge is really remarkable.
Nice little tank! This torch looks like a long polyp plate coral!
Great video Jake! really nice tank & fish! 😀👍
Beautiful tank Jake very inspiring
Such a cool tank! I almost cannot believe on how little maintenance it’s running an thriving.
I would at a red montipora setosa. The color pop will really match the rest 😏
I can 100% get behind any tank with some soft coral features! Tank is looking good!
You provide much inspiration - Thanks!
This tank is testament to reefing without too much work or maintenance.
Looks stunning 🤩👍👍 simple and beautiful
Love your content Jake. Keep it coming
Awesome tank this! Love simple you've made it! 👌
very beautiful. Does the pump run at full power 24/7 or does it dial down when the lights go off, maybe a different powerhead comes on?
That's awesome! I hope I can get my tank that stable one day!
I was waiting for this!
Nice nano tank👌greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 ✌️
Nano tank is love, nano tank is life. My fav content!
this looks so encouraging for does looking to make a nano tank
Thank you for the update. Is the anenome still in there? I do not see him in this update. If not, why did you take him out? And, what kind was he?
Great tank what light schedule do you have set up on the Red Sea 50 struggling to get a nice setting
Yay been waiting for a year!
That nano tank looks amazing
It would be interesting to see you do this “hands off” type of reefing with a larger tank like a 40 or 75 gallon. That would be super interesting!!
Jake passed away about a yr ago. He was overseas on a plane and became sick. RIP. He passed away from his family, etc..
When you make your updates you should use this tank to teach us what types of coral you can keep close together in a nano tank! 😁
Very nice.
If you guys are looking on a new tank. Really would like to see someone cover the fiji cube 108 ext, there arnt any good vids on the tank
I got a heart o-o im thinking about upgrading my 45g to the 108 so it would be nice to see a full video run down of it

never had a problem with connectivity using the ReefLEDs, I do believe you have to make sure to connect it to a 2.4GHz wifi band though

great update of the easy reefing tank but would it be possible to get an how to for smooth skin acros? Had a rtn event of my collection and cant figure out what happened even with icp and aquabiomics tests
I'm still learning myself but I'll start considering what I can share about naked Acros in a future video
That tank is so soothing
Orange plate fungia would look great and really stand out against the heavy green.
Does it still exist? Please update!
You said you cleaned your tank a few times in 2 years. How much do you feed your fish and what do you feed them?Do you feed your corals and what?
I have the same tank and I want a glass top like yours. Where did you get it?
Amazing tank good job its like jurassic park
The green attached to the back of the tank on the left what is the name of it please?????? Will you add more clean up crew?
Need to do a Q&A on this tank.
Looking great! What kind of salt mix are you using in the studio?
AccuraSea 1 by Julian Sprung & Two Little Fishies
I think I’m going to do the new 60 gallon breeder! Just saw one at Petco
YEAHHHH FINALLY NOTIFICATION ON AND LOOK WHAT I SEE 😍😍😍
That GSP is going to take over this tank lol. I had some growing up my gorgonian. Any concerns about it growing on the favia or the koji wada nepthea?
You just have watch it and trim it before it gets close to things.
Some of your snake polyps on the opposite side of the grandis would really compliment them.
Looks good. Treat with some vibrant or flux rx and the bubble algae and hair algae would die off... why not? No harm, most of the pests gone, puff! Lol
Where did you get that glass lid ? I would like eliminate my evaporation a bit.
just a random piece I had left over from a career of tanks, literally have a pile of them and this one turned out almost exactly the right dimensions
wow..its already 2 yeay..hehe..really nice set up!.. what is the key stability for this tank dude?
Leaving it the freak alone, lol - we always want to try and push a reef tank to be a 'little bit better' which is what usually gets most oof us into trouble
Hi. How many litres is that tank? Thanks

Since the coral is glued to the rock, how do you move it after?
It usually comes loose with a little tug.
beautiful nano tank, how many times do you clean it per month
it gets a very light wipe down of the glass no more than once a week, and that's about it.
@@ReefBuildersVideo great~
Hi, What led do u Use?
Would you suggest this with a mixed reef dominated with SPS?
definitely would need to at least add some dosing and keep a closer eye on mineral balance with fast growing stony corals such as SPS
How is it possible to have so few water changes???
can a tank like this get some clean up crew aswell? idk why but i just like having some in there (debating if i wanna start this hobby at this point) i'd wanna start small but there is just so much info

@@ReefBuildersVideo its so cool, all tho the guides on this are great it still feels like chinese to me
Looks nicer than my tank that gets weekly water changes 😞
How often do you feed this tank?
about once a day
Whats the flow rate on the return pump?
IDK but it can't be more than 200gph (nomimal) and probably closer to 100gph actual
This tank is a culprit of encouragement for me to start a salt tank 👏 👏 yo
I wish every January new year we get update on this tank 🙏
How do you record these videos lol, every time i try to record my tank it’s way to blue i have the same light.
lots of experimentation with white balance
Does the glass lid reduce or block the light
Nope. Just evaporation.
How much and how often do you feed the fish Jake?
*almost* every day
How often are you feeding the fish?
about once a day
Not sure how you do it.
Me: Babysits every parameter and most corals might survive.
Jake: Forgets a DNA frag in a cup and puts it through the dish washer.....needs to frag it when it comes out.
You and crew are superior reefing beings!
🤣 Aw thanks!
I like the gold torch, but I still like my 2 nano tanks more.
I would hope so!
that's a thousand dollars coral !
What happend with the hammer coral?
Had to remove it as the Gold Torch was getting aggressive with its territory
Why Red Sea?
So no dosing no kalkwasser just a few water changes and that’s it ?
I top off with clean tap water which does have some minerals in it
Leave it be. Let's see we're it goes.
Put a frag of a weeping willow in there
can a 1 day nano tank be done with stax rock?

my favorite tank, jake you think you can grow acros in this tank ? if you maybe ran an ato with kalkwasser for PH and ALK
I"m sure you can, it would just be a matter of degrees of coral growth
Less is more I would leave it alone and let things grow in
