  • This presentation is chapter 4 of our TTS reading of Jung's Mysterium Coniuctionis (Translated by R.F.C. Hull). This chapter covers the prime personalities of the conjunction, the king and queen (or Sol & luna, Beya & Gabricus etc). Rex & Regina are personalities which represent the principles that are combined and operated on to derive the "Filus microcosmi", which is described as an artifact corresponding to Jung's self and the philosopher's stone.
The main theme in this chapter is the renewal of the king which is marked by the descent of the superordinate principle to chaos for the purpose of rebirth. The most obvious parallel to this is the Birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; although the archetypal typicum also covers the motif of accent and decent (which was described in the last chapter) and even the chemical combination of opposing elements to form salt.
The Renewal of the King reveals a progressive contemporary evolution of the archetype. Although this motif is paradoxical since Rex is expected to remain fixed, a controlled degeneration (dissolution) is imposed so that the king maintains a connection to it's humble roots - so to speak. And once the tribulations of the renewal is over, the dominate welds more power than before it's decent.
Perhaps this is the hidden mystery of the solar eclipse. The Moon darkens the Sun and renews it in "one day" so that a new Sun is begotten, just as the moon renews herself every month with the novilunium (new moon).
The softening of a fixed material is also a routine process in alchemy which is typically performed with a strong alkali or salt (e.g Sal ammoniac). This is done to allows the influx and admixture of the perfect material with the subject. Softening of fixed sulfur or arsenicum (Arsenic Oxide) for example would represent the dissolution of the lion (Another synonym for the King), as a prerequisite for psychic rebirth in the projection of the alchemists. This allows the whitening, and other stages of the work to proceed.
So also the volatile God of the Old testament was soften through kenosis into the Virgin, engendering a secondary principle which balanced out the single-sided aspects of the Deity, giving it a new luminosity that can be grasped by man.

Once again Thank you. I hope you can elevate more of Jung’s writings in a similar manner. This is how AI should be used for the benefit of humanity…

Bravo, I hope you keep making things in this format. AI reading isn't too intrusive and the pictures/quotes are curated beautifully. My gratitude.

Thank you so much for this, your dedication is helping other Jungians further their studies, what you are reading is an imperative Jungian work, your reading will allow my research project all the more an ease, as though I'm keeping it under my hat until I publish my findings, I have come across a number of things I have seen no one else piecing these individuals together, that at the very least validate Jung's work, and vice versa.
If things go moderately well I will have left a number of steps forward within Psychology/Sociology, Anthropology, The Arts and Theology/Mythology.
Your upload is thus benefiting such happening all the sooner.

Good to know, thanks for sharing. Also note that Jung's work is just the tip of the iceberg - there's still a vast compendium of alchemical works that provides deeper insight into human psychology, mythology and Christian esotericism that has not been translated yet.
This is the key advantage of the mysterium coniunctionis, which is a literature review of such books. That is, By providing a premble to the subject, the aspirant can select the volumes cited for further study.
I plan to translate many of this treatises in the future to Contemporary english and upload TTS readings here. Starting with the Theatricum chemicum - which was heavily referenced by Jung in this book

@@phxHeritage Thank you very much, trust me when I say, I have oh so many underutilized, misunderstood works of importance that I will be weaving many a tapestry from, though that will be a larger project. Occultism, Mystery Traditions, Psychedelics, and Arts/Media both modern and of past instances being where I am pools I am drawing from. So many amazing instances that reinforce that Jung put forward. I likewise plan on using that of my own understandings from my initial personal structure of the psyche. Though I plan to work on that dealing with a specific High Tier work of modern Fiction, such as more so an introduction to Jung through these lenses, as I find this the most likely to garner an audience, afterward I can then start unleashing far more profound findings that not only reinforce Jung as correct, but expand that potential.
I again do thank you, and as you truly seem to be one who knows Jung very well, I hope that I put forward will be something worth your while. (In all reality if I don't feel it is groundbreaking in some way, I won't release it.)
Cheers, and again, thank you for taking on the task of reading such a massive work that many aren't even aware of despite how fantastic and important a work it is, dealing with a subject that is of great depth so too overlooked and misunderstood much so many still think Alchemy being the literal transmutation of lead to gold, not realizing how such was simply a language utilized for those in the know, while some tried to take advantage of the public (during the time Alchemy was growing) by telling people they could do it literally, but I digress, all things you would already know.
I do hope that I will leave some highly unique books that will further Jungian Depth-Psychology while so too expanding the potential of the Psyche.
Thank you again my fellow Jungian!
      ~Michael
