We made the inner firewall but there's a bunch of fabricating that's still needed from inside the engine compartment to make it strong… and presentable 😆

So....Chad can bang the square stock on the floor and bend it to the shape he needs and it's going to hold up to the weight, twist and torque of the blown 460 for more motor mounts as well 🤔
I can see him getting fed up with this build real quick, so i expect in the next week or two he will introduce us to his next build, interestingly 'once again' one he has always wanted to do, is that how it goes chad, to be perpetualy grinding metal.
You should seriously consider getting rid of those flimsy square tube motor mounts and fabricate a front motor plate with mounts from the front cross member and also add a motor plate to the at the motor/trans area where they join together. That's a big heavy motor and with motor plates, you will have nothing in your way for headers/steering column.
He said he's going to box the frame and gusset into and fishplate into the tube structure already ,it'll be fine and way stronger after those improvements
I agree , I have said this numerous times . Get the correct sump and put the engine where it should be . NO IDEA AT ALL

It's important to free up some valuable space.
with the square stock with the slotted bends going across the cowling, you should really manufacture the other side before you weld it into place so you have it as a template.

Thank You Chad , Jolene and Nate, for an entertaining episode . Chad does a wonderful job of explaining his plan to move forward and install and frame up the firewall of 1940 Ford Blue Hot Wheels Replica in reverse from a scale model car to a full sized car. Nate is doing the methodic work of completely rewiring the 1936 Hudson Terra Plane. along with building and installing the gas line from the engine to the sending unit in the gas tank. Wonderful filming job Jolene as usual.
To make the Arc smooth when you slice the square tube. Make the slices the same distance in between.
Now chad is doing commercials. Lol. Upside. Lmaooooo. He sounds so funny saying what it does.
Working right with the car i have cut using clamps to the frame of the car. Also can clamp down a temporary bench on the frame. I like cutting further from my face and not having to hold the peice being cut. It is safer.

This is a great time to put real motor mounts in.
put a straight edge across the frame at the front motor mounts and check the location of the mounts.

There is so little fire wall from the engine bay , but in the cab it really dose show . Would it not be cool to use copper ? also you can dress the valve covers and other engine parts with anodized copper treatments . In the 80's they had a Brand of Rims [ USA ] That were 5 spoke just like Hot Wheels and we can Never Forget the RED pin stripe on the Wheels .

Problem is you can't tell him anything and he acts like this is the first build like this in car building history. Reinventing the wheel. Never refers to successful problem solving by looking at other examples. "We makem' nice cause we makem' twice".
Need a another crosmember he has one on a car in the yard that will hold the motor and new motor mount thet will will hold that motor oh will he dose not read are comments good luck

Hey Chad, Jolene, Nate, & Fina happy Friday! Chad the outer firewall is starting to come together, just keep in mind if you have a master cylinder or anything going through the firewall it will need to be mounted to the inner firewall. Chad with the power that the engine should have it is just my opinion that I would want to switch over to power disc brakes up front, not that you are anywhere near that! Keep up the good work Chad! Nate you are really doing nice work on the Terraplane and it is getting closer and closer to being ready to run! Jolene you did a nice job on the video as always, Chad is a very lucky man to have you in his corner doing such a good job of growing the channel and giving him the opportunity to do the builds that he wants to do! He should respond in kind by getting your Bugatti done, he could have Doug sand it and he would only loose a few days to paint it and once it is painted he could let Nate take over on it. I did not see Fina today she must be out on guard duty or skunk hunting!

you need to remember the hood fits around where you are Bending the molding to fit for Square Stock. The HOOD May Not Fit when you are done
Correct, he be better off to make every effort that the square stock conformed to the cowl , not the cowl to the square stock ….. body lines on hood would be far better 👍
The hood fits where the red primer and gray primer meet, not on the seam that he is mangling.

I think you set the engine to far back you had at least 12 inches to go forward when you look at center of gravity and weight distribution
He's copying a Hot Wheels car that has the intake scoop that far back into the cowl. Do keep up.

@@gildayton3566you definitely need a helmet, major damage has already occurred but a helmet will keep you from going full retrd in the event of another catastrophic impact.

You did a great job on gas tank, I don’t know if you can even buy one, most people just buy fuel cells and I think the one you made is better looking than a fuel cell
The main idea is to create the look like the model . Function does not have to equate all the necessities or requirements of a daily driver . This isn’t to have the function of a 68 Caddy riding from shore to shore . With this in mind, it’s going to be fun to drive and a great head turner . As Chad would say, “Not a heat turner as good as you Jolene, but a head turner ! “

Oh yes you can, been there done that headers can be manipulated around anything I wouldn't worry about headers til last that's the norm,he's not going to use a factory built header system I'm sure he is building his own,don't spill your coffee on your armchair!
you dont put 30 steering u joints on your steering shaft to work around the header. you build the header around your steering so its not all janked up
Just because you don't know how to do it, does not make it true. Easier to redirect the headers than the steering.

EVIL THOUGHT ! I find my self wondering if you are putting too much importance in the position of the engine air scoop. Seems things would be a lot easier if you just moved the engine, say 6, 8 or 10 inches forward? I don't think you are really building an actual competitive dragster - more of a super street rod. That far back driver position is not so practical for the street, with a passenger. The engine clearance issues could be relieved. Not one is going to notice the intake scoop moving forward a bit. Do you really have your heart set on poppin' wheelies?
Those cool doors could work well with a more conventional interior.
Seems you could still save work by simply moving the engine forward some?

Just smack the whole engine mount on the driverside down 1mil or 2 mill then weld it together, u'll get the intake to move 1/4"❤over (like smacking smacking smacking squarestock on the floor..😊

Clutch fan has a coiled strap of metal causing resistance the fast the fan turns the more the resistance which in turn locks the blades stiffer

Chad your viewer like the engine more forward,it would help with clearance issues with the headers and the firewall might be forward of the doors so you can install your pedal under the dash more like any other car. Just a thought
He’s already said 100 times he is making the hot wheels car because it’s his dream car and the hot wheels has the motor pushed all the way back so he wants his car to like identical.
This the way use to build them back in day the car is not finished yet mocking up stage right now they will make the necessary changes as needed this car it will. Be awesome when it is done
