Pair them two Bad boys together and then you’ll definitely experience the Fireworks 🎆 Whizzing past your Head & not just shaving the hairs on your ears but might also cut your ears 👂 a little it’ll be that Good 💯when it comes to Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos from music & Movies my Dear Audiophile Man 🤝🏼
I recently passed over the Era 300s and bought a pair of Fives, but I kind of wish I had the chance to hear the 300s in my house . I am super happy with the Fives though. They have a very powerful vibe and surprise me how much depth the bass has, even sometimes at quite low volume . I realize they aren't totally phile, but yes they are good enough and family friendly. I LUV the design of the 300s by the way.😅 Get a pair eh?!
The era 300’s Dolby atmos for movies is in another level at your home. The fives bass when you have a sub Gen 3 isn’t worth the extra cost
I have era 300s configured as stereo pair with arc and gen3 sub. Sounds awesome for music, especially dolby. I'll use as surrounds once sonos fix having the front driver availabile. The front firing makes a massive difference for music.
For your kind information Dolby Atmos & Spatial Audio are Already a Thing in fact they’re More than a Thing and in coming Days they’ll Evolve So Much going to be a Serious Thing 🔊
Most importantly it’s definitely 🙅🏻♂️not gonna neutral Around around the market for a while as a bit of novelty like the 3D TV’s 👓
I noticed when testing Wi-Fi quality, you airplayed music to the speaker. Did you also do this when testing spatial audio? Or did you use the Sonos app to play the music? I ask because atmos content will only play via the app, and not over Airplay.
Thanks for the review - well put together thoughts. I dont honestly think Dolby atmos in music is going away as more and more homes kit out dolby atmos compatible systems. Its not a quadraphonic thing in my opinion. Atmos mixes right now are very hit and miss but quality ones arrive all the time and are getting better. I have a pair of these setup as surrounds and for atmos movies they are game changing. If you ever listen to 2 of these setup as a stereo pair that "fireworks" you expected would absolutely happen :D
One Hundred percent True 💯
Nice review thank you. Well I think I’ll buy a second unit to have a nice stereo sound. I heard bells and whistles from you tube around the era 300 and for me it sounded good without any goosebumps, I prefer to hear wide stereo on most songs regardless if they are recorded in atmos or not. Focusing in finding the songs rather than being obsessed in spatial recording. The Sonos app isn’t that nice also. Hopefully with a second unit I’ll be happier.
Playing Dolby Atmos content (Apple Music) to a single Era300 in my bedroom was quite an experience. Not sure I really want a 2.0 setup in my bedroom so the 300 does the job here.
Maybe if you had tried listening to them as a pair in a home theater setup with a good 4K Blu-ray musical score. For example Bohemian Rhapsody. You might have thought different.
Thanks!
Very kind of you. I do appreciate your support. Thank you!
@@TheAudiophileMan Thank you for your reply and your review.
How does this compare to real hi-fi speakers in the same price range like the KEF Q350, the original LS 50's and as such?
It doesn't compare to "real HiFi speakers". At all. It does a great job as a mobile speaker and is fully featured to work in that sector. That niche. That job. It's superb for the job it was designed for.
I find Kef speakers underwhelming. It always encourages to add a sub for bass.. too much money
You can connect it to ethernet with the USB-C socket with a Sonos adaptor (not supplied).
Very good point and I should have mentioned that. Even so, like the turntable converter cable, that should be bundled free in the box. You shouldn’t have to pay £39 for the privilege. Nor should you have to search in the corners of the Sonos shop to find the thing.
@@TheAudiophileMan Yes i agree, they should've supplied it at that price point and is a bit stingy on their part. I have bought two for a stereo pair and i am very pleased. There are good deals out there if you look and i got a good discount for buying a pair.
Is the “hi-fi” definition subjective?
The entire HiFi hobby is subjective, to be honest and a slave to the bias of your ears. It depends on your expectations and requirements. Thus, to answer, I'd need a more targeted question.
its not a looker ...and expensive
You’re not a looker and your ar#e is cheap
