  • Hey All, In this episode of Ford Era we flew out to Seattle, Washington. We got picked up at the airport by Brian Delfel & we drove straight to Peyton, Colorado 1400 Miles & 26 hours later. We made it & loaded up our new to us 1971 Ford F350 Camper with a 1971 Mitchell & Sons Camper.
This is going to be an ongoing project. We named the truck Dusty Road's "The American Dream"

My Parents and my wife are from Monterrey Mexico and I Remember seeing the B100 but I never thought they were Mexican only, I always thought they were Broncos! Also later on I began to notice different fords in Mexico like the 4 door Ford Broncos like 94-96 models I always thought they were custom jobs lol. I thank you for bringing light to the B100 that otherwise no one would ever know about them!

Semi arid and arid climates are so good on these old vehicles. I was amazed to see how good of shape all that old iron is sitting out in the winter weather. The southern US where I am isn't so forgiving. I'd be in a panic if that stuff was sitting in winter weather here. It's not the rust belt like Michigan or Minnesota, but humidity, condensation and leaking water into the cabin or trunk will just wreak havoc on old iron here. If moisture hangs around too long where it wasn't designed to be, they start to rot out. I miss that kind of thing in the video because I used to live in Eastern Washington and the dry climate gave me no concerns for my old stuff.

I bought a non crew cab 70 camper like that....but without the back of the cab cut out. It was a time capsule. 21k original miles. It still had the clear plastic covers on the seat belts. The camper did not age as well as the truck itself , so I ditched it and I put an aluminum jerr-dan rollback tow truck bed on it. I put a 460 with an NP435 and a gear vendor in it. It was amazing , but in 08 had to sell it to pay bills. I wish I still had it. Congrats to you on yours.

As I see how you have that set of FORD trucks on that trailer nose to nose and the camper hanging way back off the end of the trailer.... I can imagine in the Gonzo State of Crapper'onya; you know way, waaay out west there'd be some CHPper pulling you off the highway if you were to dare, even get near to try driving on one of the roads they patrol.
Actually, I have stopped/paused the video at this juncture and when I return I don't expect to find you were at any time worried and all went to plan... but dang this trip must have been a real headache. If not then you got Godzilla Ballz.
