- We had the chance to go out and take a look at this 1 of 3 1974 Ford C750 truck and Gerstenlager trailer that were outfitted as a Camelot Cruiser motorhome by Edler & Company of Skokie, Illinois. The pair are said to have remained in long-term storage and was subsequently recommissioned before being acquired by the selling dealer in November 2022. Power is from a 391ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and both the truck and trailer are finished in two-tone green. The truck is equipped with a chrome front bumper, 22.5″ steel wheels, air-assisted brakes, dual air horns, a CB radio, a sleeping surface, and an intercom system. The trailer features woodgrain paneling, a kitchenette, a dinette, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, a sitting room, and two basement cargo compartments. Service under prior ownership reportedly involved overhauling the carburetor, cleaning and coating the fuel tanks, repacking the wheel bearings, and replacing the fuel pump, ignition components, tires, wheels, shock absorbers, brake air reservoirs, trailer suspension air bags, and shore hookup power cord. This C-750 and Camelot Cruiser trailer are now offered in Osprey, Florida, with a pair of Poloron snowmobiles, clean Montana titles for the truck and trailer, and a bill of sale for the snowmobiles.

This needs to go in the RV museum…what a beautiful time warp
No, no it does not, it deserves to be driven, used and enjoyed the way her makers intended.
@@marvindebot3264 A rolling museum 😁
If it’s not going to be used than it needs to be in a museum where it can be enjoyed
@@EvanMoon buts its being used tho.
Yes 100% agree with you this is a damn near pristine 100% original nice time capsule!!💗💗😍😍
Anyone who grew up in the 70s will have a deep familiarity with the decor of this amazing machine. "Time capsule" is a great description - hopefully this gets the preservation and love it deserves!!
Was thinking the decor seems more late -60’s then mid-70’s.
Way kewl all the same!
I was born in 1976 but I still remember people’s houses looking like this during my childhood.
They even have the tile counter still. Its cool.
Yes, yes! The avocado green, shag carpeting, wood paneling and orange tile!
It looks like the inside of my grandma's house
Seller's hair is absolutely on point for this RV.
I can’t believe this thing has lasted perfectly intact like it was suspended in time… And yes as a baby of the 60s, these colors and decor resonate… Love it!🤣👊🏽🤘🏽
That is one of the most "70's" things I have ever seen, especially on the inside. That is awesome.
Initially I thought that someone with good taste (whether or not they were birthed back then) designed it
That is absolutely the coolest rv I've seen 😍
absolutely
Hands down!
love the fact that all 3 are still out there, and in their original state! tells you something about the quality they were built with back in the day's!
naw, quality was crap, they just don't get used, as long as it doesn't leak they will keep.
I would never actually use one of these, they are horrible for real motorhoming compared to anything modern. mpg is horrendous. My 74 dodge motorhome was gutted and has a 5.9L EFI overdrive drivetrain now.
@Murray Madness nobody asked
My man , if you can get that rig do it . What a great piece of machinery . Being born in 1960 all those colors and and styles are deeply embedded in my brain . It is indeed a time machine .
And....if you just have $1.000.000 and you don't know what to do with it.
That's a cool rig.
I was born in 85, I remember the red shag carpet in the trailer I was born in lol, it was a lot of the same.
I entered planet earth in 1969 and I remember that style back in the 70s as a kid. Coooool AF!
I drove a tractor exactly like that from roadway trucking but ours didn’t have sleeper. They had no ps and no air. You worked hard for your money. Great to see one in such great condition
What was mileage pay back then?
I drove one too. It was only one time though. I worked for their spinoff company called Roadway Package System. We borrowed one from the Roadway terminal down the street to rescue two loaded pups hooked to a broke down truck on I-95. They were some rough riding and extra slow trucks. Especially when I was hooked to two fully loaded pups.
I would take this over some of those million dollar plus RVs in a second! So much character and craftsmanship. Absolutely beautiful. By far one my favorites. They definitely don’t make them like they used to anymore.
same
Yet in 50 years, unborn kids will drool over the current tacky bs which survives.
Guaranteed this is a much better quality build than the new stuff! 😂
@@rickk.20in "50 years" the present day garbage won't survive! They don't build quality campers like they used to! At my parent's camp the 17+ year old campers have more solid roofs than the 3 year campers!
@@mikeklinger1712 yes they do. you just have to drop over 5 million for it.
dig the green dunny (toilet).. the 70’s colour choices were both hilarious and revolting.
this old girl belongs in a museum .. cheers mate 🍻👍🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed
WHAT a freakin awesome unit ! Imagine pulling up next to all the modern RV's; they'd all want a guided tour !!
I would have been six when this was built. This is like a early 1970s time capsule. It should be in a museum. It is literally a snapshot of the decade.
This is “The Griswolds” if they had a coach! I absolutely love this thing!!! I truly hope that whoever gets this next doesn’t pull an ignorant move and start tearing things off and “modernizing” it
Wow. What a unique piece of automotive history. This "time-capsule" fits right into the era of trucks you like and all of us on here enjoy looking at. Thanks for sharing this one with us and I really hope you do get it.
it sure is. thanks for watching. i hope so too
Amazing ,what a vintage RV. The decor is so crazy but cool. Should be left exactly like it is. Brilliant and I would love it. The space is awesome aswell.👍
It needs to be in a museum like the pioneer village so everyone can see it
Your not wrong
RV Hall of Fame & Museum!
@@theupscriber65 I think there actually is one in Indiana somewhere
@@3wbasie elkhart indiana, it's pretty cool actually.
Pioneer Village in Murdo, SD? Man, I did not see that coming.
I remember reading an article in Trailer Life magazine in the 1970's about the Camelot Cruiser. Although I was only 8 or 9 years old at the time (I think I've been 'camper crazy' since birth LOL), I thought it sounded amazing. Thanks so much for the video!
I remember the colors from that era when I was young! A real blast from the past!
And the music just flows with the era of the RV ! Good Job ! 😊
It is really awesome to see younger peeps appreciating classic & antique stuff! I am very happy ya'll kept this in factory origina condition, a mobile museum 🙂
I, for one, am impressed. This really is a time capsule. I was approaching 30 in 1974, so some serious flashbacks here.
Beautiful, I love everything that is mid 20th century.
Unique and beautiful. I would love to have a holiday in something nostalgic like this.
This thing is friggin amazing... what an absolute time capsule.
Really one awesome piece of history. Case in point I always say the 70s will never ever die. There is still trend after trend inspired by the golden years of this societal development era. I would say that in my limited memory that originally belonged to one of the presidents of Ford and I know it was sold to someone in NASCAR. I actually have a picture of it at Daytona speedway circa 1976 or77 I think. I attended both races with my grand parents at that time. I always thought that set up would be the permanent trend for large campers. Much better concept than 5th wheel trucks that often fail their uses.
This is absolutely amazing, I've never seen or heard of one but I am loving this.. i just can't believe how immaculate it is..
What i would give to have it..😊
That.. is a beautiful C750 and a beautiful camper, you should 100% buy it 😍
I believe the first one built, was for the Ford Racing Team. It was painted the Shelby Cobra "Daytona" blue metallic with the white racing stripes.
thats cool
That is a very very very beautiful rv,if you get it .take good care of it
It really should be in a museum
Wow, the Army used these things like busses but they were clearly not like this one. We called them “cattle cars” back then but it was sure nice to see one because it meant you weren’t walking miles back to the unit after spending the day on the range!
Ft Leonard wood 1985!
Ft Dix 1987
Thanks guys for sharing and your service also🇺🇸
I LOVE the classic old cars, when i grew up i wanna collect them, thx for this amazing review
Looks like it would have been an amazing prize on television game show.
I'm in my late 60's. This is an epic iconic late 60's early 70's style. One would hope this could be preserved in a fairly original condition.
I remember my parents had a couple snowmobiles like that when I was a kid... fun!!
These need to be in production right now, I would buy one.
That's incredible that someone took care of it for that long. Thank you for sharing.
I saw this thing pull up to the boat dico at Mackinaw City long ago. There were people sitting at the dinette at the front windows and they got off to go over to Mackinac Island while the driver pulled out a little boat from the "basement" and washed it. I never forgot it.
What a small world ScottMcV, Right next to my desk is a stick I saved, it has Mackinac Island burned into it. I found it in a house and it looked like a neat way to make a sign so I saved it for the boy scouts. I figured it would be a good future project. Never heard of the place.
Nice I live right below mackinaw city
@@mattberden9326 Looks like a very cool area. I spent just a little time in Michigan north of Flint. I have a feeling it is a world of difference away!
This just popped up on my feed. Glad it did, had been wondering what happened to it after GasMonkey sold it. Nice to see it cleaned up.
Born in 1976 and a history lover of everything this thing is awesome.
That thing is so sick! If you do get it, I wouldn't change a thing inside.. A time capsule for sure. Incredible! 😎
salesman: “ you can have any appliance color as long as it’s Avocado green or Harvest Gold…” 🤪
shag carpet, wood panels, velvet wallpaper.......that thing is sooo 70s......all the stuff that decorated our house when I was a kid......it just needs a console tv and stereo/ record player/ 8 track player to finish it out
That’s so AWESOME!! Love the 70’s, the colors, the style! Very cool 😎
The color scheme in that thing is from another era. I grew up in the 70s I find it to be highly appealing.
They need to make more of those!! I love it!!!
I am a huge C cab fan. That is incredible.
it sure is
Been looking for these videos forever.
This Camelot Cruiser looks awesome.
Hope you enjoy it!
I'm actually in love. This is incredibly beautiful!
This was at Florida Flywheelers Antique tractor & Car Engine show few years back, and it was amazing. Something to consider bringing her back. Also, these was also featured in Fast & Loud. 2 of the 3 of them. Gas Monkey Garage purchased 2 of them.
Amazing history with them.
OMG! Watching this I felt the spidey sense of my pants flaring out at the bottom and my hair growing out, parting down the middle and feathering on this sides! I was 12 when this was built. I want it!
I worked for Edler and Sons back in the mid to late 70's and remember it sitting in one of the warehouses covered in dust and pallets.
That rig is cool as heck. Buy it. Cheers from Sweden.
It should be in the RV Museum in Middlebury Indiana. Very cool. I saw one on Gas Monkey
You must get that thing amazing 👍
Right
THAT IS AN AMAZING VEHICLE.
the interior of that is truly a beautiful work of art.. just absolutely wonderful
Freaking Awesome!!!
Yeah man that thing is sick! Write the check! No regrets on that one!
that the idea
That's badass.... I remember my great uncles gmc triple axle motorhome... damn thing was like 65 ft long
I saw this at the turkey rod run. It’s amazing
That’s where they got it
I'd say buy it. Would love to see it on the channel again.
You and me both!
Sweet old camper. It’s a little older than I am, the decor brings back memories of my childhood. Thanks for sharing. I hope you got it.
Stunning piece of history.
That thing is awesome id definitely road trip that
It really is!
My daily driver is the same Ford cab design...but a C8000 with a farm truck bed...and I cannot take it anywhere without getting thumbs ups and questions about it. I cannot even begin to imagine the attention you'll get driving that around! You had better allow extra time when fueling, just for all the questions and interest and photos. :-)
that is so cool.
jesus what motor do you have the cat 3209?
@@mromatic17 Yup, it's got the Cat 3208 turbo. I'm partial to manual transmissions, but mine has the MT653. It drives well, though, and my daughter wants this truck someday...so the automatic is a good fit for our use.
@@RollingLiving thats cool teach her and see if she likes the manual if not than swap it later.
Amazing, vehicle combo.
That's a badass setup
I’ll say one thing Simon, you find the darnest Fords ever built 👍🏼
thanks bud
Funny thing that wall paper is very similar to what my folks had in their house.......wow i must be old .......And hell yeah brother buy it and drive the crap outta it.
That’s awesome
Love it! While everyone is into "retro" these days, ain't nothin like the real thing, as the song says.
So cool 😎 what a beautiful time capsule
It’s awesome but that’s a museum piece
Maybe we need to start a museam
There were two of these stored in Gurnee, IL for awhile. I got to tour one of them. Pretty awesome looking.
Richard R. of Gas Monkey Garage bought both for $30K total.
Love the music. I am in the mood now ! Love this RV
This blew me away! Wow! Learning a lot about vehiclec I never knew about! Thanks! this was rad!
I'd dearly love to have a truck like this one, however, I live on an island way down here in the southern Pacific and I would probably run out of road pretty darn quickly🙂
391 and an automatic transmission of some type with a 44,000 pound gvw ? That thing would do good to maintain 50 mph on a flat level road with no headwind. I have owned and driven many Ford trucks and the only 391 powered F 700 truck I had that would maintain 55 mph up and down hills and eventually reach 65 mph loaded (about 25k total weight) was a 68 F600 with a 391 gas engine and a Clark 5 speed and a 2 speed rear axle. That gave it 10 speeds including 2 that were over driven and to say it lacked power fully loaded is an understatement. I fail to see how that driveline combination would even maintain 50 mph pulling that giant trailer.
Agreed. I'm surprised there isn't a 534 V8 or diesel engine powering that rig. Not really sure what diesel engine choices were available for C-Series trucks back in that model year. I'm pretty sure a Cat 3208 was one of them.
Who's in a hurry with a rig like that?
I saw a picture previously, but after seeing the video I'm instantly hooked! A beautiful piece of history and now I want it! This could be Margaret's bigger brother! 👍😁
Wow. What a cool piece
Yes and restore it
What needs restored its perfect
For a second I had to check and make sure I wasn't accidentally watching Charles Phoenix's channel. I have no idea what it would cost to buy it. But if I could afford it I might be afraid to use it too much. It's such and excellent time capsule. The interior looks a little more late 60s but still.
it is a time capsule for sure
$120,000 he’s pleading for it.
Loved the phone hanging in the bathroom🤷♂️
Good Lord that's awesome😲 From the snowmobile to the dishes its 1974 perfect!
This thing is hideous in all the right ways! I love it. It's just mint. A true time capsule for sure. I hope it stays preserved and well taken care of.
I'm thinking you GOTTA buy that, I think you'd treat it the way it should be treated!
hope so
I didn’t grow up in the 70s but my parents on RVs from the 70s and that brings me back
That thing belongs in an automotive, rv, or semi museum it's mint.
That truck is wild. I wish you guys talked more about that back room in the basement. What the hell would that be used for? It has windows lol.
Put the kids there when they misbehave.
definitely buy!!!
Right
I was in love then I seen the snowmobile on the bottom thats awsome
Love the phone in the bathroom. Boogie Nights in RV form.
I never leave comments, I am not a jealous man, I don't lust for stuff, I don't want want what isn't mine, but I'm now a broken man!!!!! 😂😂😂
Didn't we see one of these on Fast & Loud? It's awesome. Buy it Soloman.
2 of them he got
@@FordEra they weren't alot of money on the show am I right?
So so three are still on the road
I really like this truck trailer combination. The dining area is awesome, but the color combination is so dark, pure 1970s.
Looks like a converted cattle car the army moved us around in at Fort Dix
It’s possible
Not 💯 percent sure, but I think Gas Monkey garage purchased a couple of these a few years back, I believe they were Ford blue and they sure looked alot like what you have here. You might try to get in touch with Richard an see if they are the same and maybe find out some more info. I think it is cool as HELL I'd leave it just like it is. Thanks for the video man, one cool ride.
yes I saw that episode too. he bought 2 of them.
Yes Gas Monkey has the other 2. They are blue.
Evidently there's 4 someone else said they was a ford racing game edition one also and Richard's was just blue but no ford racing there def neat
Coolest creation ever especially if you like me and love original classics and semis!!!💗💗💗💗💗
That back room is fire!
Before buying I'd walk through it at night with a blacklight, lord knows what the walls are covered with.
I’m scared 😂
I'd bet there's still cocaine in the carpet. 😂 and soiled bed sheets still maybe left over from the "govna" and his lady friends.
Current bid is 88k as of writing this with 5 days still to go.
Sadly everyone else thinks it’s just as cool as o think it is
