Is there a trick to recording a woodblock or a suggested stick that can quiet them? The mallet that came with mine makes them very loud in recordings. Thanks.

LOL. Turn the track..down? If you're finding they're overpowering your mic, you need to get a pad in your preamp or on the mic itself.
