So I have a genuine question here, based on Ramana saying Self does not have 'sin' so as long as you do not think/believe what you have done is a sin then it cannot be a sin. How can this be stretched into, say, people who physically abuse, rape and murder babies and children for ritualistic purposes? Have they also not done wrong simply because they don't feel they have done so?
The mind alone sins, "you" are not the mind and body. Therefore you are not your actions here, most people who do "wrong" things never have heard these "teachings". They identify with only the body and mind, which would mean they are searching for only worldly desire and do not, can not, or have never heard of discerning in these ways. Find out what "you" truly are, and these questions will fade away. Much love and blessings. Ramana did say that most westerners do not turn inward, making it hard to land in one's heart in certain occasions. We are not our habits, so change them if you please, many will change naturally. To go off of what the original guy above me said the irony of it is the self is not identified with Mind. Rapists, murderers, abusers, etc are FULLY identified with the mind. They see all as OTHER not as SELF. And they take the world SERIOUSLY. So they sin. Because the limited framework they’re looking through (as a person) only allows a reality in which the one who is identified can sin.
