HGV Training Broker Warning

  • There has never been a better time to get your HGV licence and start earning.
Never has the haulage industry had such a need for HGV drivers. However before you can earn you must learn and that is what this video is about.
The advise in this short clip is about the benefits of training with a good local HGV training company rather than using an HGV training broker / middleman.
Brokers are companies that give you the impression they are the company that will deliver all your training. This is NOT true. Brokers simply charge a premium to "arrange" your driver training.
Our advise is avoid those pesky brokers and go direct to a reputable HGV training supplier in your area.

Did my class 1 with EP Training and passed 1st time . Great service, great instructors. Couldn't ask for a better company to train with .
    Thanks EP Training.

Very good advice! I’m with a local training school. I made a mistake of calling a broker by accident and they hounded me on a daily basis. Please be very careful

Thank you for this information, I first saw this when I was looking into getting my hgv license. Was phoning company’s , but after watching this . I went to see Apex Training in Peterborough. There were so helpful, and to my surprise the dvla test centre was on there site. If I had gone with any other company it would been here I took both parts of my test. Please after 5 days training with Apex. I passed my test 1st time

I wish i had like your advice 2 years ago b/c same thing happened to me exactly what you have just said. And the brokers get money more than training companies b/c it doesn't cost them any thing they just seat on the chair with phone, thank you for your video it will help many people

Made that mistake 7yrs ago.., hounded by brokers after going online for a look at Hgv training.., sent me to the worst training centre around and charged too much., had to do class 1 well away from where I live.,, trainer kept falling asleep in passenger seat, reversing area was a joke…, failed test, binned them off and went direct to a reputable training school.., fantastic trainer, vehicles and premises.., passed no problem…, I always regret spending over the odds and wasting my time.., ALWAYS go direct to a good, well established Hgv training centre (wish I had!)

I'm doing my training now. I wish I'd seen this video before I paid the broker. I've been ripped off had bad service and all the did is pass me on to my local training service.

I had this problem, posed as a legit national company with multiple depots and turns out they just shift work to anywhere they can, i spent probably £600 more than I should of and all they did was book training dates..

Looks like I've been stung with this. Rushed in to it and been an idiot. It's been well over 14 days since joining with them which is the refund time allowance and got my theory and everything booked now... Ffs

      which company?

    • @adambarrs92
      @adambarrs92 Před 2 lety

@@EPTrainingServicesLimited called Easy as HGV. I got talking to them not really knowing anything so when they said they sort it all out for you and find you recruitment at the end, it sounded pretty good and when I was ready I called them back and bought the course... At the time I didn't know I was going through a broker and it sounded like they were training providers. Internet searches bring up good reviews so thought I'd done my research.
I definitely should have looked in to it more and done it myself...the smallprint states it could be 2:1 practical training which I will be furious with if that's the case. If I fail first time round I'm definitely not rebooking with them. It might not be all that bad and could be lucky and get a decent trainer but still feel like a bit of a mug 🤣

I'm aware of this after my own situation I went with what I thought was a hgv company in london turned out to be a broker ended up costing me £4200 and was sent to a sub company and I had about 5 hours training which was insufficient and never passed my test or gained the licence I'm 2 payments away from paying all the money back.
