Does any of the characters get bootlegs Because I got one from barkley.
If you're looking for something specific (such as Astral Traffikrab), checking the Unstable Fusions is another viable option. The Anathema tends to not be shiny, and the beast it is fused with is tends to be set. For example, if a Traffikrab is part of the Unstable Fusion, you can flee, sac a tape of the type you want, then restart the fight. The Traffikrab will be the type that you sacrifice.
Not exactly the most reliable method, as you have to have a decent understanding of what spawns in what areas for potential Unstable Fusions, on top of finding the one you want in the first place, but it is another method.
Why does everyone want astral trafikrab?
Bit of a spoiler, but grab one and evolve it for a surprise and an achievement ;)

Wow I feel dumb I ran into a fusion with a red name but since I had no knowledge of what the fusion monsters looked like beforehand I didn’t know they were bootleg🤦🏾♂️

My first non-gift bootleg was a Steel type Puppercut, who naturally occurs as a Steel type.
As close to a 1-to-1 pokemon shiny as you can get, since now I'm rocking a Grey Furred Southpaw
I just found my first random bootleg and it was an electric Cat-5. I was pretty confused as it has a different palette, but it's still electric type!

Nice tip, not the best. You can also try to find areas where you can go in and out ( like a cave or building ) that will respawn the monsters. It's limited to some areas where you walk in and there are beasts, no shiny, step out and come back in, (respawn). I get a shiny every 15-25 minutes, but limited to the beast and level for that niche area

I wasn't expecting to see any bootlegs until late in the game, and I just ran into one right after seeing this video! Though... its an air type Domimoth, so that's disappointing! I was so excited to figure out what typing it was, and I didn't realize the typing could match their original, lol
So far without any shiny hunting, in my play through which is about 35+ hours so far, I have encountered
Two bootlegs early game that I accidentally murdered
And the ones I have obtained are Bootleg poison Kuniko! Bootleg glitter palygolin (baby form I don't remember any of their real names 😅) and one other that I can't remember right now, but my favorite one is Kuniko because I didn't realize the legendary encounters could be bootleg!
The first bootleg I encountered I killed it was the snake beast (forgot name) and it's the only one I encountered
Had a similar experience sort of, right around the time where you learn about bootlegs (so very, very early), I encountered like 3 in quick succession. Inadvertly murdering one of them, whoops. After that, I never saw another for the rest of the playthrough even if I've been on the look-out for the noticeable static they emit. Now that I'm basically at endgame for the main quest (or what I assume to be that, at least), I decided to do a bit of bootleg hunting for fun.
Can't promise to follow him, but I can watch his channel for a while and when I like it, I will press the abbo button
Was playing last night and found a Glitter Carniviper in a rogue Fusion. Wasn't using candles or anything, just grinding for XP and found it full-odds.

Hi there, I have a question I was wondering if there is a way to static hunt legendary cassette beasts in the game for a chance to encounter their bootleg forms? And can you encounter bootleg legendaries while playing through the story, or is it a post game thing? Thanks
The candle and the Optical laser tape is one use only? They are a bit expensive to buy all the time lol
My first playthrough, I found a Metal-typed Traffikrab and a shiny (Glitter) Nevermort.
I don’t know if bootleg odds are boosted in the post game but within about 5 hours of beating the game I found 4 with no candles or anything, just knocking out Rogue fusions. 2 of them were over wold also. didn’t find a single one the entire story
Once I found out my partner's get a huge bonus for using their specific monsters they started with Id make my partner use them every time. My character would be the one using the extra types.
I love the candle but the grind is rough
Are there any shiny locks in the game? I.e. some of the legendaries that you can recapture?
I got a ice bootleg pombomb from barkley and i thought it was supposed to be like that. also my friend and i have a file and when we got into the game there was a glitter bootleg cluckster
I didn't realize how rare they are. I got two Bootleg Traffikrabs about 10 minutes apart. I can't believe it in hindsight

Astral traffikrab is the only bootleg I found so far lolol, now I got a Magikrab
I feel so lucky I cought like 3 bootlegs on my 30ish min of playing not including the gift one you get in town
Somehow I managed to find not one, but 2 Electric Bootleg Dominoths. No I did not use the candle they were completely organic finds

I screwed up my first game and lost one of these
I remember seeing a video of someone going in and out of a cave to reset the visible encounters to bootleg hunt fast ; I tried that for a bit going in and out of the house nearby to the trafikrab spawn then checking the 2 nearest spawns then going back, but after 20 minutes I didn't find anything and I wasn't sure if it was actually working because their positions were staying the same. Would love more info on this if anyone has it
that method worked in the demo...they changed the de-spawn radius to a larger circle in the full release which is why fleeing or fighting them is quicker way to de-spawn the area currently (could change in a future update tho)
@@BerryBandit For caves it worked for sure for me after release. And it's easy to deteremine when the spawns change (e.g. from 2 Faucetear to Terracooka and Carnviper). Not sure if all spawns follow the rule though.
@@pinkgeerough it’s little tougher when it’s all the same spawn like the beginning area with all Traffikrabs. I will have to take another look at the caves. Unless I remembered wrong.

I fainted a shinny (bootleg) my 1stbaftwrnjust like 20 minutes of gameplay lol it was shinny in the overworld it was the traffic cone beast
How does it behave with legendary enocunters, such as averevoir?
Ritual Candles only work on fusions, so it shouldn't work on legendary encounters. That being said, they will have the same static effect that regular monsters have when even when they are static.
A fire bootleg averevoir will also be red in the overworld for example.
I found a bootleg really early game and thought I would just find another one easily. I was wrong
I got my first bootleg today and I'm only 2 hours into the game
20 minutes into the game I ran into a shiny traffickab, I killed it :( I knew something was fishy about the red lettering but I only had one catch thing.
I’m 99% sure near the very start of the game I was roaming round and found a glittery Pombomb dog thing. I had no idea it was rare and didn’t catch it as I was unsure what I was doing at this point. So disappointed 🤣
I did the same thing! I don’t remember what it was but it was glittery. It’s wild going into the game not knowing any of the monsters cuz you really don’t know what’s going on.
I found a poison traffikrab early game too, but didn’t fully know how recording worked yet so I failed it. I was very sad.

I love the idea of bootlegs but it is a pain for sure. 50 fusion shards are a nightmare. And luck has been worthless for me. I've farmed for astral traffickrab for 20 hours with no luck. Every time I pick astral it's the monster. Everything I pick traffickrab it's plastic. Lol.
A second item and specifically being type vs monster would have been better.

Ok I love watching videos of "shiny hunting" and I know this video is a month old, but I gotta know, how rare is it that your partner in the game will get a bootleg? When I first partnered up with Barkley, his Pombomb was a bootleg of ice type....I need to know how rare that is!
That might be scripted, as I got the same ice doggo
That is in fact scripted. Barkley's partner is always an ice bootleg of Pombomb. Other partners will never come in with a bootleg.

does anyone know how to turn off the skills that damage opponents at start of turn? Inparticular im talking about the dash upgrade ability. It tends to kill the Krabs instantly :(
U can fix it with in option menu to match up your level with the mons 😊
Don't dash into the krabs then?

Why call them shinies in the title? This isn't Pokémon, they're bootlegs.
Most people will call them shiny 🤷🏻♂️
