This is an excellent video with great content. Will be ordering one for my '97 Silverado from Sterling at Torch Offroad. Thank you! A+
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate the support. Don’t forget to use my Promo Code HARTROCK10 for 10% off! Sterling and those guys are awesome. Tell them Cody @ HartRock Garage says hello
Thank you for that code man! I ordered mine and with that code I basically got express shipping for free!! Can’t wait to throw it on my truck!
You bet!! Thank you for watching and please subscribe and spread the word!
4/2/23 Nice to see (almost) the most "simplistic" way of lifting a truck without putting a dent in the wallet.
Thanks for watching!!
You can actually borrow the right spring compressor for that type of suspension. Inner coil spring compressor. Many times faster and safer.
Yeah I tried 2 kinds. Just didn’t have much luck with them. Had an inner also. It just liked to pop off. Thanks for the advice though and thanks for watching
I had the other style of spring compressor trying to lower my truck and had the same issue. I think I will buy a set and cut them down like you did.
Be safe with whatever you do. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe
Just subscribed and ordered 3" lift for my Tahoe 4x4
Awesome!! I hope you used the promo code to get your discount. Thanks for subscribing and for watching!!
How is it??
Im ordering right now. Thanks.
Did you use the same stock shocks in the front?
Great! Be sure to use the promo code HARTROCK10
The shocks I had were too big around to fit inside the A-Arm hole so he just left stock and was gonna figure something out
I like how you put your head over that loaded gun you must really trust spring compressors lol
Yeah I’m a little daring sometimes! Thanks for watching!!
You sir are braver than ill ever be lol
My dash on my 1998 Silverado C2500 dash is pretty mint idk how lmao I purchased the truck for $1600 only issue was power steering lines were leaking pretty bad
I have had a few over the years that were perfect. Just depends on where they are from and roads they’ve been down 😂. Thanks for watching!
Great job! What shock absorbers did you use? Need a shocks extension after the lift?
The owner ended up ordering some longer shocks from Rough Country. you can find them on the Torch Off Road website
What manual transmission and differential oil does it have? I have a 1995 Chevrolet Cheyenne pickup, a 305 tbi 5.0-liter 8-cylinder engine, 238 thousand kilometers and I don't have the vehicle manual. They are the same models from 1988 to 1995.
Muy buen Trabajo señor 🍻
Muchas Gracias Amigo! Thanks for watching!
Torch needs to make a kit for my '93 F250 2wd
Yes I’m sorry that they do not have one to offer. Thank you for watching. Please subscribe if you haven’t already
Nice!!
Thank you for watching
Just ordered this kit. Seems like a good deal. How long did it take to arrive?
I believe I had mine in 2 or 3 days. Torch is really good about getting shipments out. Thanks for watching and for purchasing the kit!!
Do you remember what size wrench you used to take out the ball joint bolts?
1 1/16” I believe
1 1/8
Worked for me but at
1 1/16
If your going with the 3 might as well do the 4 inch i had the 4 and it was great now im putting a 6 inch on my new obs
Thanks for watching and good luck on your new OBS project. Please subscribe
Where can you find 4 inch on the internet I can’t locate them… not this setup
After you get a lift make sure you get a alignment
Yes for sure. Owner was gonna do some front end work then get her aligned. Thanks for watching!!
@@HartRockGarage yes sir just wanted to put that out there who might watch this video and not realize that it something you need to do after a lift.
Were the brake lines stretched after you were done or was there plenty of wiggle room
The brake lines were good. Didn’t have any issues. Thanks for watching! Subscribe for more content!!
Any updated video with new wheels and tires?
No sorry. I took it back to the owner and never got any pictures from him.
Nice looking rig
Customer approved of it. Haha. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe

Would the rough country 0-2 extended shock work for the front end ? Because I can find anything more extended than 2
Yes that should work as long as you make sure it is for the 2wd
Hey man I got that 3 in lift for my 1995 Chevy 1500 that you recommended me but I am having trouble with my shocks any recommendations? Stocks ones don’t do there job well
I actually got some on Torch Off Road website. Rough Country sells some extended shocks specifically for trucks with leveling kits
Can u use the same shocks with this torch kit. I just bought some now ima use this lift
Yes you can use stock shocks but I highly recommend getting shock extensions. It will help with the ride. Also you may consider some upper control arms made for 3” lift. I hope this helps
Perhaps you can give me some advice? I changed the front control arms. At the same time I installed the same lift kit. The front wheels are tilted inward now. The mechanic said that the adjusting bolts on the levers were turned out to the maximum and it was impossible to make an alighment .
That seams odd. I would contact Torch Off Road and see if they have any advice on that.
Did u find out your problem cause i have the same problem
I was waiting for this comment. I have a 1999 c1500 suburban. Put in 3” spacers front and back. The height looks great but then front tires are squatting like a Honda. I bought the “adjustable” camber bolts. Tried every configuration I could. Still squatted. About to go yank them out and wait to do a 3” body lift instead. Any advice?
I'm probably a little late to this. On the frame where the upper control arm mounts to the frame, from the factory there are cam ecentric adjustment bolts installed. However for them to work as intended they need to be removed so that a perforated section of the frame can be knocked out with a tool ( otc 7491C) so then the hole the bolts go through is slotted and the bolts can move as intended to allow for camber and caster adjustment. A lot of alignment shops are not familiar with these older trucks and see adjustment bolts and try to turn them and get no adjustment out of them.
I ran leveling kit on my 95 because I have 33’s and it rode like crap. How does yours drive?
This was a friends truck. I bounced quite a bit in the front. He put shocks and a few other things on it I believe.
Just ordered the kit with your promo code I did 3 front 1 rear should be equal level
That’s great!! Thank you very much for the order. And for watching my video. Subscribe and tell your friends!
I got mine done.. its rides absolutely horrible fronts extremely stiff and bouncy
@@jalmada7435 did you get longer shocks?
@@HartRockGarage I actually order some last night
Also have camber so guess I'll be doing something with upper arm or ball joint
I got a 1990 chevy c2500. I currently have the truck completely torn apart for a frame off restoration. The frame is ready for paint soon, and I am looking at front and rear suspension. I bought 33 inch tires and 16 inch rims for the truck and it currently has stock suspension. I want to throw a leveling kit on and can't seem to find anything for a 1990. What do you recommend I do? I don't want to do a body lift and I want to run those tires. Do I need different shocks, coils, etc? Thank you
Unfortunately this kit will not fit the C2500. Torch Off Road has not begun manufacturing that particular lift as of yet. Thank you very much for watching! Sorry I don't have a better answer regarding the kit.
to leave it as it is, how much are the blocks that you put in the back so that it remains level??
The rear blocks were the 2” blocks
Is the spring compressor 100% necessary? Don’t have one handy and not sure if I’m comfortable trying to use one
You need the compressor for sure. You can rent one from an auto store
What size rear blocks do I need to make it sit level ?
Probably 2”. Just depends on how it sits right now. They don’t all sit exactly the same as they are older
this is awsome, would this help me in towing my fifth wheel camper,i own a 1992 c1500
Thanks for watching. The Torch Off Road leveling kit will only raise the ride height of the vehicle. It does not beef up suspension for towing. Thank you for watching and please subscribe
When I go to torch off-road I only see a 6 in RC lift and shocks/struts no other lifts

Can you tell me please about the conduction with this new spacers?
Is the suspención harder with this spacers in the front?
Where I live there are a lot of holes on the roads, so I would't like this spacers does my truck harder the suspención.
It definitely made it a stiffer ride. If you have rough roads this will make it worse. You can upgrade the shocks but it still will make the front end more stiff
Please let me know if they have it for my suburban
Were you able to find it?
I have a 91 gmc sierra do you know which one I need? I need to raise the front one 2 inches.
Is it 2wd or 4x4?
Should I be proud that my dash is mint plus I’ve never seen a smashed one usually just a dodge issue of that gen in my case
Heck yes you should! I’ve had several over the years but it seams like the last 5-8 years when I find them they are busted badly. Kinda weird! Hey thanks for watching!!!
I have a 2001 RAM 1500 and the dash is toast.
Would this work with the same truck but extended cab ?
Yes it sure would. And don’t forget to use the promo code HARTROCK10 to save 10 %!!
What size did you cut the spring compressor bolt to
I did not measure it I just cut it. I don’t recommend cutting them. I was just pretty desperate and on a time crunch. Thanks for watching!
What shocks are recomended after this install ? How would you order them ?
We put those extended shocks from Rough Country on it. You can go to Torchoffroad.com and find them.
I’m trying to lift my 2wd 1999 obs tahoe 3inch which tire size do u recommend for a 15 inch rim ?
I wouldn’t go over a 33”. A 33 x 12.50 R15 would be good. But I wouldn’t go over a 32” or 33” tire. Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to use the Promo Code HARTROCK10 and save 10% on Torch Off Road brand products
@@HartRockGarage ok so if I go 4inch would they fit?
I’d think a 33” would fit with the 3” lift
Hey boss I clicked on the link but it says it's for suburban I have a 1995 extended silverado front springs
As long as you have coil springs in the front and leaf springs in the rear it’ll fit
Thank you for watching
Will this fit a 1991 Chevy suburban 1500 2wd
Yes as long as your suburban is coil spring in the front, leaf spring in the back and is a c1500 half ton this same kit will fit. Thank you for watching. Be sure to use promo code HARTROCK10 to save. 10% on your purchase
How do you fix the door problem
Which door problem? The hinges?
Did you had any problem putting yours shocks back in place Sometimes the spring bends to the outside ?
I had a rough time with the whole thing unfortunately. I took it back apart several times. The coil spring has to be lined up perfectly
@@HartRockGarage did you had to cut the Springs to make it easier?
@@marmolesygranitosdezacatec443 I did not cut the springs. Cutting the springs will make the springs shorter which takes away from the lift. I just had to keep working at it. That was the toughest lift I’ve done
@@HartRockGarage i have a 2.5" lift kit and the mechanic could not put the shocks back in place because of the spring, it bends to the outside
I would contact @torch off road and see if they could help you out with this issue?
What about a 98 Chevy c3500 ? 2wd single wheel
Does it have coil spring or torsion bar front suspension. Some of those ran torsion bar on front of 2wd. Let me know and I’ll get you a link for the kit
Did you figure out what you have yet?
Did you have a problem with the control arm banging the frame?
No I did not. That seems odd
@@HartRockGarage awesome I had bought a 3” spacer set and was doing reading and research on installation and everyone says the control arms hit the frame and I would have to put flip the top ball joint and put a ball joint spacer to keep the upper control arm from banging the frame
@@josephlee6610hey if you can get back to me, I'm having the same problem and am very curious how you solved your problem

DTR - Edit* Torch got back to me and said it will fit a C1500 Silverado, the model years listed are for Tahoes and Suburbans. Since all of those years overlap in the C1500 trucks and SUVs they only out 92-99.
@@NovaKid19 so it will fit a 2wd 1988 c1500 ?
@@No.No.7 I didn’t go this route so I can’t say 100% for sure, but yes the tech I emailed said it would work with 88-98 C1500s.
Yes it will
I just did this and now my front wheels camber inwards at the top of the tire. What went wrong?
I would just double check to be sure that the coil spring is sitting in its proper position. And it will probably need alignment. I’ve had some that do that and some that don’t. All just depends on the vehicle. Thank you for watching!
@@HartRockGarage has a alignment worked for all of the ones you had
I’ve had to replace certain parts like tie rod ends, ball joints etc on some. But alignment helps
Is this kit 3 inches front and back ?
Yes it is. Thank you for watching!
Mine ain't got a Crack in the dash running strong with 256,000 miles
That’s awesome! You have a good one then! Thanks for watching!
Can I use the original shocks absorbers in the meanwhile I order some rough country ones ?
Also what inch lift blocks did you install, 3inch or 2.5in etc?
I used the 2 1/2” rear blocks. And you can run stock shocks. They just won’t function properly at absorbing the bumps and such because they are extended so far out. You can run stock though. Before you even get started let me tell you that the front end is extremely difficult. Make sure you have all of the proper tools. Be safe. Those coil springs are dangerous. And give yourself plenty of time. You are gonna need it. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe
What size tires after this lift?
I would say a 31”-32” would be good. A 33” may be pushing it when making hard turns. Thanks for watching! Please subscribe!!
How were the controll arm angles after lift
They needed alignment for sure. They were extended pretty far after lifting
@@HartRockGarage they make billit aluminum ball joint spacers to help bring the uca up level and help with harsh ball joint shafts
angles the fit right under lip of control arm need longer bolts and grind rivets off uca before install also the alignment tabs if removed from alignment saddle will give an extra camber if needed
@@jonschwartz9669 do you have the link for the spacers? And I have a 4 inch spindle lift on my 97 and I wonna raise it up 2-3 more inches what do you think is better 2 inch lift springs or the 3 inch lift u put on
@@josecaceres2187 you can find the ball joint spacers on eBay is your truck a 2wd and is it a c1500?
@@josecaceres2187 I have a 98 c1500 2wd and put a rough country spindle lift on my truck I could go on for a hour or so of the problems i had after installing and what it took to finally get it going and safe
As someone who just installed a body lift by myself. Don’t. Go this route for a cheap lift everyone.
It depends on what your end goal is everyone. Body lift will give it taller look and clearance for bigger tires. But you also have to buy brackets to raise your bumpers and brackets for your E-brake. Suspension lift will give you frame clearance. Pick your poison
