Ninja 900 zx9r. Ran fine. Stored over the winter. Went to start it, dead battery. New battery, but the engine acts like it is seized hard. Even trying to push it and pop the clutch only leads to the rear tire sliding. Starter engages, but the engine never seems to move. How is it possible for a perfectly running engine to seize up when it has not even been started since it ran last? And can a fuel injected bike drip enough fuel into the cylinder to cause it to seize like this? Have not made it to the plugs yet. Looking for any input possible before I get my hopes up.
I just got a xr100 unseized bought it for a $100 brought it home drained the oil removed the spark plug then I mixed up some automatic transmission fluid and acetone 50/50 mix shook the loss out of it and poured it in the cylinder on top of the piston and left it alone for about 2 1/2-3 hrs figured I'd give it a shot stepped on the kick start lever and by the time I had 3/4 of my weight on it down she went side note make sure u put a rag over the spark plug hole lol now I have a big oil stain on the ceiling in my garage looking back it's obvious I should've put something over the hole but didn't cross my mind at the time but the transmission fluid and acetone mixture is one he'll of a penetrating oil it's my favorite
Bike was low on oil and siezed. I freed it up and everything seems fine, but not starting. Is it possible nothing is wrong or should I just rebuild the top end? I doubt the bottom end is messed up, but Honda tried to say the whole engine is fried.
I did the same thing, the motor was jam hard, after a while I get it free, but the piston ring still jam, so I heat the ring to let them expand. It cost me new ring only I keep the same piston, the engine run for 3 years now without issue.
I just bought a 1974 Honda cb 360 that sat in the garage for 35 years it was seized up very bad I used mystery oil pulled the plugs and filled the cylinder left it over night 'the next day I put a bar on the stator moved it back and forth a couple times till it blew out the oil then put the plugs back in and put gas in the tank and gave it a boots it started right pu 'now it runs perfect it will star with only one kick or just hit the start button it runs like a new one .
I freed my buddy's seized supra engine once. What I did was i took off the spark plugs, sprayed a good amount of WD40..removed the drain plug (it had little oil left, w/c was the reason it seized in the first place), sprayed WD40 where ever I could get it on the crank and conrods. Let it set for a 10-15 minutes, push-cranked the car (spark plugs still off) in 4th, voila!
The easiest way to get it broke free is to put it in gear and with a little oil down in each of the pistons rock the bike back and forth till it breaks free.
I've managed unseize a piston by keeping the engine in the bike, spraying PB blaster into the spark plug holes, rocking it back and forth for 10 mins and then letting it sit over night. Next day, rocked it back and forth for a few more minutes and it breaks free. It's an easy method and worth trying
*im not sure if you know a lot about dirt bikes but hopefully you do. My Yz85 seized on me while i was riding, i walked it home and the next day my friend came to look at it. While looking at it, he took my bike off the stand and moved around a lil. Next thing you know, my kickstarter wasn’t stuck anymore. You think you know the problem? Or what caused it? We looked over it and found out my carburetor intake manifold was cracked , that might be the reason?*
This will work, but you need patients. Many years ago I had a 1953 MG TD sports car, the previous owner blew the engine and replaced it with a four cylinder Triumph engine. The engine got some moisture in it after sitting for months without starting and the engine seized. I ended up pulling the head and basically did what he did in the video. I repeated this over and over every 3-4 days for a month. I would rock the car back and forth while in first gear. Finally she broke loose. I put it all back together and it ran like a top for the next couple of years until I sold it.
how about buying a new cylinder head? and i mean it like i say. because in y young, 17 year old mind, its that simple. just off-screw the old cylinder head and make or buy a new one. or is it different with a seized piston?
+Nazimelon He already removed the cylinder head. If you mean the cylinder block, it can't be "off-screwed" (removed) because it is friction welded to the pistons, which are attached to the crankshaft. That's what a seized engine is, my 17 year old friend.
Personally, the only idea in my mind, if the engine was seized, would be to dismantle the whole engine, and any stuck areas can then be freed, given time etc. I certainly wouldn't dream of whacking anything....
Firsty, never hit anything with a hammer, secondly, spilt the crankcase, then you cn access the top and bottom of the pistons, then you can see if it is the rings, or the cranshaft that's causing a proble,....then look at ways to free the rings, if they are stuck in the bore, lastly, remove all the cylinder studs, then the cylindr block should come free
I have just split the crankcase on a Yamaha XJ600 1997, as I have a problem with the cylinder block........Have you ever split a crankcase....??..............I am just about to split the crankcase on a 1993 BMW R1100RS..........
No...No Dont do this...everything you're doing is going to end up causing more damage. yeah you might get the pistons out but you're going to bend something or break a cooling fin or chip your cylinder wall...Nooooooooooooooooooooo
Patience for sure and generally repeating steps it will work . Great video
Great video.
What did you do to the engine after you unseized it?

Does it run now?
Don’t ever hit hammers together!!

is your clutch also seized??
Do I see the top of the engine case ripped apart at the end of the video?
I did the same thing, the motor was jam hard, after a while I get it free, but the piston ring still jam, so I heat the ring to let them expand. It cost me new ring only I keep the same piston, the engine run for 3 years now without issue.
good vidio

The tone of your voice reminds me of a coroner

Basic tutorial how to fuck up your cylinder. (heating/hammering it)
do u pour the marvel mystery oil just straight on the headers or?
Good question
Heat lots of heat on a 66 305 pulled the head has aluminum buildup they are stuck really bad fixxing to put the big torch on the cylinders
From the outside, with alot bigger torch !
have you tried putting it off an on again?
yep, I'm British, it's the first thing we do when something breaks.

@@Realofficialdee lmao no
F.V. *the manifold was the issue. And this comment was almost a year ago. Let it go.*
Heat the barrels !
my piston is seized in my cylinder and I cant take my cylinder off

"make" a new one he says. LOL
What about first letting the cylinders soak in penetrating oil for a day or two?
MMO is basically penetrating oil. Hydrocarbons and a naphtha base.
Put METAL RESCUE in it!!!
never strike 2 hammers together
why
+Chief AzN Two Case-hardened surfaces can easily shatter. Although in this case he's hitting asoft faced mallet body which isn't as bad.
+Stan Whattmore Hammers are not case hardened and proper hammers will stand that abuse without any trouble.....
Hammer facts.
Any tool, can be the right tool
Personally, the only idea in my mind, if the engine was seized, would be to dismantle the whole engine, and any stuck areas can then be freed, given time etc. I certainly wouldn't dream of whacking anything....
how will you take the cylinder off if the piston is seized?

ROY Dean but you can't split the cases until the cylinder is off . . .
I have just split the crankcase on a Yamaha XJ600 1997, as I have a problem with the cylinder block........Have you ever split a crankcase....??..............I am just about to split the crankcase on a 1993 BMW R1100RS..........
ROY Dean On my YZ250 I can't split the case unless the cylinder jug is off because there are studs which go from the case to the cylinder head.
Throw it in the bin!

So he never fixed it lol
Sorry to say but its totally wrong method
Why didn't you offer the correct method then?
You can't just blanket sweep something as wrong without explaining what was wrong and why.
