    Cuts from newsreel 49/47 - Trooping of the Colour - Horse Guards Parade, London.
    Various shots show ceremony of Trooping of the Colour. Guards present arms. Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) and Princess Margaret are driven across parade ground in open carriage. M/S of crowds looking on. King George VI, in guard's uniform and busby / bearskin hat, is driven from Buckingham Palace with Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) riding on a horse beside his carriage.
    General view of Horse Guards Parade with guards lined up, awaiting King's arrival. The King stands up in the landau and salutes as the national anthem is played. The King is driven round the parade ground to inspect the troops. The King stands on dais with Princess Elizabeth and officers beside him. Military band march slowly across parade ground as the King watches.
    RSM takes colour from escort then turns around, marches to ensign and gives him the colour. Escort marches in slow time back to rank. Various shots of 'trooping the colour' - guards marching along with the flag. Officer reports to King at end of parade. King leaves parade ground in landau. Troops leave parade ground and march past crowds along the Mall (some shots quite shaky).
    L/S of Royal Family on balcony of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary, Princess Marina, Princess Margaret and others. King takes salute from dais outside front gates of Buckingham Palace as troops march by. Closer shot of troops marching by with sergeant barking orders (natural sound).
    Sound is intermittent. Duplicate exists - UN 2155 B; the print is quite dark but seems to contain more sound sequences and perhaps one or two extra shots.

    I wonder why the King, the Queens Dad, wasn’t riding, perhaps he was too ill, I know he had a lung operation for lung cancer. And I also noticed that the guardsman have bayonets on the end😮 of their guns, and they were all the same size in height and all the same weight. This video is 82 years old I wonder if they have still the same clothes and bearskins. I know they look after their clothes and everything else in immaculate condition.
