Your favorite roll (flip) and write games? 😍🙏
Ah I have Three Sisters in the post, looking forward to it as Fleet is one of our favs. I like the gameplay for Hadrians Wall but the theme doesn't inspire me in the least ...
Have you tried Railroad Ink? It's a classic in itself! Rolling Realms and Paper Dungeons are also really good, and Silver & Gold!!
@Miles T HI MIles! Yes we tried Railroad Ink, Rolling Realms and Silver and Gold, they were in the shortlist lol, but gotta pick 10 only😆. Paper Dungeons don't think we've played that. Sounds like we should :) Thanks for popping in!
@korrok SInce we have a lot of overlapping, curious of Kokoro! Hope we get to play that one day! Railroad probably should try the new edition too 👍🙏😍
Hadrians Wall is excellent , tremendous fun and is no doubt the best game of this type I have ever played. Mind you its the only R&R I've ever played !. Welcome To is coming soon - seems up my alley.
@@glossie6338 Oooh hope you enjoy Welcome To! If you like the style and the complexity of Hadrian's Wall, perhaps Dinosaur Island Rawr and Write also something you'd like :D. Thank you for sharing that
Thank you, great list, good to learn about som new roll/flip and write games !
Hi Anniken, thanks so much! Yeah, start from the earlier one if you haven't played lots of roll/flip and write, or later one for heavier games hehe. Hope you enjoy them!
Nice list. Some games I didn't know about yet. Thanks and totally agree on Hadrian's Wall.
Hi Danny, thanks for popping in! Ooh you like the heavier one. Hope you discover more games to try ;P
I'm glad to see some love for Castles of Burgundy: the Dice Game! I recommended that in my Rolling Realms review, but don't hear many talking about that game. Cartographers is for sure my favorite, but you mentioned several I haven't played yet. I really want to try Hadrian's Wall but haven't had the opportunity.
Hi Billy. Yasss you too Castles of the Burgundy! :) Well hopefully you get to discover some potentially new games you like. Thank you for dropping by!
Love your videos Stella and Tarrant. Your how to play videos have helped me a lot getting games played a lot sooner 👌🏼👌🏼
Hi Erich, thank you so much! Woooot, that's so good to hear, we're glad, get to play faster = more games to play? hehe.
@@MeepleUniversity exactly👍🏻👍🏻
@Erich C 😍🙏
I love "that's so clever" and "castles of burgundy"! I hope i have the chance to play "hadrians wall" and "dinosaur island" soon. Never seen the "three sisters" and i really like what i see!
Hi Dimitris :)
You like a few things that we like, hopefully you discover some new interesting games for you :)
Three Sisters is my favorite game right now
So good isnt' it!🙏
Great video. I really like the format: segmented, easy to find each game in the progress bar. And you show the games (not just the boxes). Thanks! I'd also like to throw in Silver & Gold (by Phil Walker-Harding) as a recommended flip 'n' write. It's one everyone can play and enjoy. Basically a great gateway flip/roll and write.
Much appreciated for your kind words🙏 Yes Silver and Gold also a fun game! Have a great weekend!
My favourites are Hadrian’s Wall, Cartographers, and Trails of Tucana. Going to look into Three Sisters now!
Wooot! Need to play Trails of Tucana by the sounds of it! Good list Cheree!
Great video. Cartographers is at the top for us, and with Heroes and the map packs a game is never the same twice. Silver & Gold and Super Mega Lucky Box are perfect for new gamers and they play lightning quick. We really like the theming of Floor Plan. We also really like BRIKKS which is like Tetris. Another one we have is Sonora, where you flick discs and, depending on where the disc lands, you score points in different regions on a map. It takes a lot of randomness out of the genre by flicking the disc exactly where you want it, but it has a bit of extra player interaction because your disc can be bumped away.
HI Benjamin, thank you! Silver & Gold was close, and Super Mega we haven't played, hopefully one day :) A few others that you mentioned were on our short list. I (Stella) have played Sonora, was pretty fun. Thank you for sharing those games!
Cartographers is one that I am really interested in. I've never heard of those "Clever" dice games but they sound fun. The roll & write style of game has really blown up over the past couple of years. I've only played a couple of the games on your list because I haven't found roll & writes as much fun as other games but you made many of these sound really fun. I think I remember your video about the Pinball game, too. That one is at the top of my list to try right now because I was an avid pinball player back in the day. And, of course, Dinosaur Island is a "must try"!
YOU ARE AN AVID PUNBALL PLAYER?? Wooow that's super super awesome! So you'd be one of thouse that scored the top on pinball machines that I always wonder..."wow how did it get to that"😁😍. Many talents there Carl!
Ok sounds like if it's close to you, you'd like. Cartographer is so clever the way it plays. Yes to Dinosaur Island, but it can easily not a roll and write game, just the platform is something you tick and draw, hehe. But still in the category.
Thank you Carl!
@@MeepleUniversity It's been a long time since my pinball days but I loved it! :D
@@n20games52 I wont' be surprised if you have a pinball machine at home hehehe
Just played my second game of Voyages, and that’s quite fun, too! Simple, but a nice roll and write game to teach anyone!
Thank you! Matthew Dunstan is one of the designers😮. Is it print and play game?
@@MeepleUniversity Yes, it is!
@@bkwestman22 Thank you :)
On Tour! So easy to teach. Gotten many non-gamers into it and asking to play more. I have not gotten to play the new version with the Europe map, but I'll get that at some point too.
Hi Timo! It's really close to become one of the top games on this list! There are so many games, and got cut off from the list, BUT still really good for sure!
Great list! I have Castle of Burgundy roll & write, but haven't played it yet. Need to change that soon. Fleet the Dice is currently my favorite roll & write, but I know Three Sisters will replace it once I get my copy in the mail! I've heard so many good things about Hadrian's Wall that I'm going to buy it, as soon as its available again. I'm also looking forward to Welcome to the Moon. Just waiting for it to be released in the US.
Hi Sarah, thanks for dropping by! Ooh sounds like you have it planned good :)
Hope you enjoy the games. Btw we just released a Welcome to the Moon review video ;P
Thank you and have a great day!
@@MeepleUniversity Awesome! I'll check out your video!
@Sarah Reed 🙏😍 Thank you. If it's useful
Great list. Cartographers, Welcome to..., CoB Fice, Fleet the Dice game are some of my favorite. In addition Thats so clever, Noch Mal (Encore), Roll to the top. Qwixx is so fast and light it is #1 played W&R probably surpassed any other x 2. It is very light.
Thank you James :) Thanks for sharing that. Ah yeah we played a variation of Qwixx and Encore great too, so many good ones! Riverside is another one that almost made our list
@@MeepleUniversity Heard good things about Riverside
@@jamesbrazeal3847 Also really good. SO many good gamesssss :D
You’ll have to update this video with another. There are some really good ones since. :)
Been playing a lot of Joan of Arc Draw and Write, Motor City, and Dice Kingdoms of Valeria lately. :)
Haha yes that's probably true. Sooooo many great games right? Will look into that thanks for the suggestion 😃
Love Cartographers! We are also really liking Explorer's by Phil Walker-Harding.
Phil Walker Harding is one of our favorite designers! But we haven't played Explorers :O
@@MeepleUniversity definitely check it out!
Silver and Gold would definitely be on my list. I’d keep Fleet: the Dice Game (Three Sisters hasn’t been delivered here yet). I might put Imperial Settlers: R&W on that list as well. Hadrian’s Wall is in the “to-be-played” stack.
Ooooh yes Silver and Gold was on my shortlist, really great and elegant! Hope you like Three Sisters (and hope it arrives soon :D) Imperial Settlers you're right I dont mind it, but I think Tarrant like it less coz there are a bit more maintenance in the game that he'd usually for roll and write lol. Yay Hadrian's Wall!
Thank you for dropping by!
Good to see the selections in this genre which does get a bad rap because the initial releases were on the lighter side. I would like to see some where there is a common board instead of individual ones, make a bus route I think does this.
Thank you so much :) Ah I think.... Rome and Roll has common board. It was the prototype anyway that I played, but would thing still does. Yeah there are different levels of complexity now for this genre, makes it good and cater different taste :)
My current top 10...
10 Biblios: Quill and Parchment
9 Cartographers
8 Ganz Schon Clever
7 Welcome To...
6 Silver & Gold
5 Explorers
4 Trails of Tucana
3 Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade
2 Fleet: The Dice Game
1 Hadrian's Wall
I foresee Three Sisters jumping on here once it arrives.
Hi Rhonda! Thank you for sharing your list! There are a few overlapping there hehe. Still needs to play some of those, Trails of Tucana, keen to try, it was mentioned a few times. Silver & Gold almost made it!
Per usual I'm lagging just a bit.....just got Fleet the Dice Game after watching a few videos on it. I wonder if you guys have ever tried Troyes (the Dice Game) & if so was it considered for your list or no?
Hi Andrew! All good. Noo we want to play Troyes unfortunately, sounds like something that we should :)
Silver and Gold, Super Mega Lucky Box, Cartographers!
All great games, except SUper Mega Lucky coz we haven't played it yet! (doesn't mean it's not good, sounds like it is good!)
Thank you!
Yahtzee was always my favorite growing up.
Have you tried Qwixx? Also very light. Has a very Yatzee feel but faster.
@@jamesbrazeal3847 I've seen it on shelves before but I haven't tried it. I think I'll pick it up next time, thanks.
Believe it or not Tarrant mentioned so many, but I (Stella) haven't actually played Yahtzee!! :O
But there are many games that borrows that mechanics anyway hehe.
quite good top 10 😀
Hehe hello gs24. Thank you, hope you discover new exciting games :)
@@MeepleUniversity Since you promoted Three Sisters I've been trying to get it with no avail. It seems pretty cool
@@gs24-xor It might still be fulfilling, and hopefully soon to retail!
@@MeepleUniversity 😯 thanks for the info
@@gs24-xor My pleasure!
I'm late to this but I just got a copy of Fleet: The Dice Game. I love it, and in contrast to Cartographers, which isn't bad but which I didn't feel motivated to play after the initial few plays, I wanted to play Fleet TDG much more consistently. I should mention that I've only played each of those solo, so my valuation of these games could change if I ever get to play them multiplayer.
But one thought on the claim of "simultaneous play" when playing these games..... I don't believe it. How can you REALLY trust that our opponent isn't making a mistake (or cheating). For that reason I think I prefer to play these games solo.
Hi Paul! Yasss never too late, hope you enjoy Fleet.
Ah interesting, I guess Fleet lets you choose more of different path, rather than Cartographer which is different, "force" you in a different path. Im not saying in a bad way of course, but just the way it is maybe.
I only have played Cartographer solo, via the app it's really good and easy to do.
It's kinda the trust system I guess.
Thank you for sharing :)
Not any specific order. Super Skill Pinball arcade, Hadrians Wall. Welcome to Dino World, Railroad ink. Cartographers, Floor Plan, Fleet the dice game.
Good list! Fleet / Three Sisters almost similar-ish, Railroad Ink almost made our list.
Thank you for dropping by :)
