Talking about my top 10 roll and write games. What is your favorite? 0:00 Intro 2:37 10 4:32 9 5:18 8 6:37 7 8:00 6 8:59 5 10:21 4 11:25 3 12:45 2 14:16 1 15:48 Not Your Fathers Roll & Write
This list gives me some games I'll need to check out. I just finished the first 8 game campaign of Welcome to the Moon and totally agree with you! I love Welcome To... and plan to keep it, but Welcome to the Moon adds a lot of variety and the campaign stories are pretty fun.
I haven't had the opportunity to play a lot of Roll & Write games. I'd like to try some on your list like Hadrian's Wall and Dinosaur Island: Rawr 'n Write. My favorite right now is Fleet: The Dice Game. I discovered that game on a vacation trip this year and wanted to play over and over.
Dinosaur island rawr and write might be the perfect game of any game. I only own about 50 games or so and can only play about 4 games a week now… but rawr and write- I’ll stack it with anything
I've only played 5 "x" and write games. Dungeons, Dice and Danger. Welcome to Your Perfect Home. Explorers. My City Roll and Write and Silver and Gold. I really like Dungeons, Dice and Danger and Silver and Gold the most. But I do get an itch to play Welcome to... once in awhile. My play group doesn't really care for the games but I like them as solo games anyway, well except Silver and Gold.
Your top 4 line up perfectly with mine! Welcome to the Moon is a phenomenal experience! I played 3 campaigns, having seen almost all the content. It was so much fun that I decided to start again!!
Loved this list, my favourites include Railroad Ink Challenge Shining Yellow Edition, Cartographers, Three Sisters, Dungeons, Dice, and Danger, Twice as Clever, Qwixx, Trails of Tucana, Welcome To New Las Vegas, Rawr N Write, and Qwinto
Just a helpful tip if you don’t know, and because I just found out in the comments but there is a railroad ink digital app! If you love the game maybe this will help you play even more!
Great list! I also love the genre. We have similar taste 😁 Hadrian’s Wall is my top favorite follow by Three Sisters, Paper Dungeons, Fleet, Rawr & Write and Joan of Arc By the way, have you announced the winner for your 2k followers?
Thank you. I have not heard of Paper Dungeons, will have to check that one out! And ya, I sent it off a couple weeks ago and actually did repurchase Meadow again. Such a good game.
I think what puts it above Cartographers for me even though I could very possibly like Cartographers more is that there are 8 different games in Welcome to the Moon.
@@TheBoardMeeting Yeah and that's where I have only tried 4 of the Welcome to the Moon boards so far, and I do have the big collector's edition of Cartographers so there is a similar amount of variety across maps and scoring conditions that I really enjoy
I think the boomerang games are not x and write games, the write part is mostly just keeping track of the score, so any game where you keep track of the score in a score sheet is a x and write game?
You could exclude it off the list if you wanted but most people refer to this game as a draft and write. You do keep track of quite alot of different things each round including marking off locations.

Twilight inscription is very tuned and fun game. Bonus points for having 8 variations of each of 4 sheets.
Thanks for the list! This genre has grown on me
Great top ten! I have played and enjoyed about half of these and now have more to look forward to!
There are 4 in the Fleet Line. French Quarter came out earlier this year.
Great list Shane, i would like to try Welcome to the Moon. I love Rawr n Write, i think it's my fave
When I first got Rawr N Write, I think I played it 20 times that first month. 🤣

I really love Fleet as a great solitaire game.

Welcome to and Silver & Gold are my two favorites right now. I will have to try the others you mentioned.

Have you tried Isle of Cats:Explore and Draw? I really enjoy the polyomino puzzle in that one!
@@andrewwagner3462 I have not but have been wanting to try it. I love the original Isle of Cats.
Great list. Have you tried Explorers, Sonora, or Dungeons Dice & Danger?
For me Twilight Inscription takes the crown. So much so i went and made a fanmade expansion for it

@@TheBoardMeeting ohh ok. I thought you would announce it here. 😂 I guess I didn’t win 🤷🏻♂️
Want to play welcome to the moon. I like voyagers, aquamarine, cartographers, and long shot( if that counts). 😊
Hey your top 2 are my top 2! Though I would maybe swap them, but I need to play Welcome to the Moon more to solidify my opinion of it.

I don’t particularly care for rolling realms.
